LOHAN INUNDATED WITH WORK OFFERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:12 pm

LINDSAY LOHAN will not be short of job offers once she leaves rehab as she has been inundated with scripts in recent months, according to a producer pal.
The Mean Girls star is currently serving out a three-month court-ordered stay at California’s Betty Ford Clinic and she will continue to receive treatment at the facility until January (11).
Her most recent trip to rehab has cost her a role in Inferno, an upcoming biopic of porn star Linda Lovelace, with the film’s director Matthew Wilder insisting he had to drop Lohan from the project as her personal problems made it "impossible" to secure insurance.
But Ethan Terra - who co-owns a production company with Lohan’s mother Dina - is adamant the star will not have any troubles getting back to work once she is released.
He tells Fox News, "It’s not fair in any way, shape, or form for those reports to be out there. Lindsay is 100 per cent insurable, all she had to do was put up a fee as a bond then she would have been paid upon completion. I could insure her today. She was definitely not fired…
"Lindsay has absolutely no qualms about getting work. She literally has a mountain pile of scripts to choose from. When she is ready, we’d like to see her take on a positive role; she is doing so amazingly well with her recovery."

He says, "We would stay up all night talking about music. He was surprised I knew gospel songs and wanted to know when I’d record a gospel album. I said I would and this is it."

LENNOX WISHES SHE WAS GAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:09 pm

Twice-divorced singer ANNIE LENNOX has branded men "a huge disappointment", insisting her life would have been "easier" if she was gay.
The singer divorced her first husband, Radha Raman, in 1985 after a year-long union, and her second marriage to record producer Uri Fruchtman collapsed in 2000 after 12 years.
Lennox, 55, is currently single and fears she may never find lasting love - and she’s convinced she would have more chance of a happy ending if she was a lesbian.
She tells Britain’s Saga magazine, "It’s not like I think being gay could be an alternative, ‘cos it isn’t. I sometimes wish it would have been ‘cos it would have made life easier…
"I wouldn’t want to disallow the possibility of falling in love again, but I think that for 90, maybe even 95 per cent, of women, men are a huge disappointment in relationship terms.
"(But) I’m not a man-hater, let me say that. I love men, love their company."

ABBA STAR REUSS LOSES LEGAL BATTLE WITH SWEDISH RESORT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:07 pm

Former ABBA star ANNI-FRID REUSS has lost her legal battle to recover a multi-million dollar loan from a Swedish health resort.
The singer, better known as Frida, filed suit against the executives of the Yantorp Qigong facility, which specialises in Chinese medicine and meditation, in a bid to recoup a $6.9 million (£4.6 million) investment.
Reuss insisted the money was a loan to help fund the construction of a Buddhist temple at the site, while bosses at the centre claimed the star had made a very generous donation.
Her legal team asked for the resort to be pushed into bankruptcy to recoup the cash, but a judge at Malmo District Court in Malmo, Sweden ruled against her on Thursday (25Nov10).
Reuss and her partner Henry Smith, who was also a complainant in the suit, were ordered to pay legal costs amounting to approximately $22,500 (£15,000).
The pair’s lawyers have vowed to continue fighting the case, according to Britain’s Daily Telegraph.

WEAVER: ‘CAMERON’S DRIVE COMES FROM HIS MUM’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:04 pm

SIGOURNEY WEAVER knows where movie mogul JAMES CAMERON gets his drive and inspiration from - she has met his mother.
The actress, who has starred in Cameron’s Avatar and Aliens films, admits she always thought there was something special about the visionary director and the way he presents women in his films.
She tells WENN, "During the roll out (publicity tour) of Avatar, I got to meet Jim’s mother and there’s something about her; she has the beautiful blue eyes and she’s very calm and she raised these three sons, all extraordinary and all very much who they are.
"There is great strength that emanates from his mother… Jim is very impatient with people who underestimate women. There’s a reason." And Weaver reveals the blue alien princess Neytiri in Cameron’s Avatar was inspired by a picture he drew as a gift for his mum - when he was just 14.
She explains, "He’s told me that he first drew Neytiri when he was 14. He drew this picture of a blue princess for his mother as a gift. There’s something about her that has inspired Jim."

KING FEARS FOR BRITISH FILM INDUSTRY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:04 pm

Oscar-winning producer GRAHAM KING is convinced the British film industry needs to start investing in "bigger movies" because he fears the U.K. is falling further behind Hollywood.
The Departed producer is adamant his native country produces top talent, but fails to exploit it properly and many bright stars end up emigrating to Los Angeles.
And he is urging Brits in the movie business to rethink their strategy to make sure U.K. films don’t become obsolete.
He tells Radio 4’s The Film Programme, "We have the best writers, the best directors and some of the best actors in the world, so why don’t we make the best movies, why don’t we make bigger movies, why don’t we movies for a broader audience? "I’m a big fan of rolling the dice, going bigger… They do spend a lot of money here, they just spend it in other ways that maybe aren’t as constructive as Hollywood."

ECCLESTONE KICKED UNCONSCIOUS IN ‘STUPID AND UNCALLED FOR’ MUGGING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:03 pm

Formula 1 racing boss BERNIE ECCLESTONE was kicked unconscious by thieves during a savage beating, which he has described as "completely stupid and uncalled for".
The 80-year-old billionaire and his Brazilian girlfriend, Fabiana Flosi, were set upon by a gang of thugs outside his London office on Wednesday night (24Nov10).
The sports entrepreneur was punched in the face and kicked in the head as the men robbed him and his partner of their valuables, and he was later admitted to hospital for treatment.
Ecclestone has now spoken out for the first time about the terrifying attack and shown off his horrific facial wounds.
He tells Britain’s Daily Express, "I drove as I often do and we had just got out of the car when suddenly these guys laid into me. They said nothing to me, just went on the attack, so there was no chance to feel scared or react.
"When I was on the ground I could hear Fabiana screaming for help and I took a kick or two in the head and went unconscious. When I came to there was blood everywhere from my head wound but I was lucky. They weren’t worried about taking my eye out or head injuries when they were kicking.
"It was completely stupid and uncalled for. If they had confronted me and asked for everything we had, I would have handed over everything in my pockets, my wallet, anything." And Ecclestone insists the robbery was pointless, as he never carries much cash or pricey jewellery, adding, "They won’t be going far on what they took off us… I never carry much money or expensive jewellery. Most of Fabiana’s stuff was just personal from Brazil and not worth much."

THOMAS: ‘I COULD HAVE HAD EASTWOOD’S MOVIE CAREER’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:40 am

RAINDROPS KEEP FALLIN’ ON MY HEAD singer B.J. THOMAS turned his back on CLINT EASTWOOD’s lucrative Hollywood career so he could be more of a family man.
The hitmaker reveals he started receiving movie offers after landing his big break in 1973 western Jory - and he was in the running to replace Eastwood in the film that helped the tough guy make his name.
But a chat with his wife Gloria made him realise he wasn’t movie star material.
He tells BlogTalkRadio.com, "My dad passed away when I was down there (shooting Jory) and I had to fly back to Texas, so there was a lot of drama… The movie was OK, but I made some good friendships and I loved my horse.
"I actually went and read for Sergio Leone when he lost Clint Eastwood for The Man With No Name. I don’t know if I could’ve been Dirty Harry but Gloria and I had a conversation because I was working 300 nights a year and gone all the time, so she asked me not to be an actor.
"So we made an agreement that I would just do the music and I wouldn’t pursue the acting thing. I don’t know what could’ve been there."
