LORD OF THE RINGS star CHRISTOPHER LEE is heading for the heavy rock charts with MANOWAR.
The horror movie legend will make a guest appearance on the re-recorded version of the group’s fabled debut album Battle Hymns, which will be released next year (11).
A statement from the band reads, "He has played key parts in some of the biggest, most legendary movie franchises of all times. He has played kings, wizards, evil forces and shining knights. He is worshipped by movie and theatre fans all over the world. He speaks multiple languages fluently and is an accomplished singer of opera and metal as well.
"He has been knighted by the Queen of England and honored with numerous awards. And now, he is joining forces with The Kings Of Metal to rewrite heavy metal history: The legendary Sir Christopher Lee will be the narrating voice on Dark Avenger on Battle Hymns 2011!"

ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s longtime doctor and friend KHRISTINE EROSEVICH has been convicted of conspiracy in the model/actress’ 2007 drug death.
Smith’s lawyer and companion Howard K. Stern has also been found guilty on some charges at a trial alleging the pair conspired to prescribe prescription drugs to an addict.
A Los Angeles jury returned mixed verdicts on Thursday afternoon (28Oct10) in the two-month drug trial.
The jury members found psychiatrist Eroshevich guilty of four counts of obtaining medication through fraud, but were left deadlocked on two additional charges of illegally obtaining controlled substances for an addict.
Stern was found not guilty on seven counts of obtaining and providing drugs to an addict, but he was convicted of two conspiracy counts of aiding and abetting.
Both Eroshevich and Stern face prison time. Sentencing is scheduled for 6 January (11).
A third defendant, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, was acquitted on all counts.
Attorneys for Stern, Kapoor and Eroshevich argued during the trial that each of their clients were acting in Smith’s best interests and helping someone with documented pain and depression.
Smith died following a prescription drug overdose in a Florida hotel in February, 2007.

MARILYN MANSON fans can buy a piece of the shock rocker’s original artwork this Halloween (31Oct10) - his famed Grey Daisy painting is set for auction.
The watercolor painting, one of his most documented and widely-recognised artworks, is set to be sold at The Gods ‘n Metal Monsters Auction, which will showcase over 500 rare pieces of rock memorabilia.
It was originally unveiled and sold to a private collector at the rocker’s very first art exhibit in 2002, called The Golden Age of Grotesque.
Manson previously called the painting his only "nice" artwork, telling MTV News: "Someone said, ‘Why don’t you ever paint something nice like a flower?’ so I painted one, but I ended up using only the dirty water from another painting. If I wasn’t me, I would probably want this one." Manson’s art has proved popular among private collectors and celebrities. His Harlequin Jack and the Absinthe Bunny was purchased by Jack Osbourne and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea picked up Elizabeth Short as Snow Whit at the 2002 exhibit.
The Grey Daisy auction, held online at BackStageAuctions.com, will run through 7 November (10).

Country music superstar GARTH BROOKS is to perform a pre-Christmas (10) benefit concert for the victims of this year’s Tennessee floods.
The singer hit the State Capitol Building in Nashville on Thursday morning (28Oct10) to announce the charity show, which will take place at the city’s Bridgestone Arena on 17 December (10).
Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee for flood relief.

TAYLOR SWIFT wowed 1,500 fans at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York on Wednesday night (27Oct10) with a show at JetBlue’s Terminal 5.
The country star performed a five-song set for contest winners and their guests and JetBlue employees.
She took the makeshift stage in a red polka-dot dress and bellowed, "Hello New York, I’m Taylor," before starting the performance with her hit You Belong With Me.
Swift then boarded a private plane with the contest winners and flew off to Los Angeles.
The airport performance will be edited, mixed in with interviews, and broadcast to JetBlue’s 80,000 customers each day for the next two months.

The editor-in-chief of fitness magazine Shape has apologised to readers for putting singer LEANN RIMES on the October (10) cover of the publication.
Valerie Latona has called the decision to publish bikini shots and an interview with Rimes, who split from husband Dean Sheremet in 2009 following an affair with married actor Eddie Cibrian, a "terrible mistake".
In an email sent to some readers and obtained by TooFab.com, the editor wrote, "Please know that our putting her on the cover was not meant to put a husband-stealer on a pedestal, but to show (through her story) how we all are human. And this woman in particular found strength in exercise in what she said was her most difficult personal moment.
"It did not come across that way… and for that I’m terribly sorry.
"I hope that we can do better the next time for those of you that will give us another chance." The email comes after many Shape readers complained about the cover story.

PAN’S LABYRINTH director GUILLERMO DEL TORO’s fascination with horror began at an early age - he befriended imaginary monsters when he was still in the crib.
The Mexican moviemaker was just a baby when he began having vivid and dark dreams about terrifying creatures, which became his muses - and he insists his monster "friends" now inspire his films.
He tells Film 2010, "It started in the crib, I was a baby. From the crib all the way to age 11, more or less, I had what is called lucid dreaming, which means you dream that you are awake. So I literally saw monsters. I was used to monsters, I loved them.
"But, at a very early age, I made a deal with them to allow me to go to the bathroom because I was so afraid I ended up peeing in my crib. We stayed friends.
"There are only two things that you can do in art, or in storytelling - you can tell about the good stuff in life, which has always been very boring to me, or you can tell stories about the dark side of life, which has been much more attractive to me."

New mum TIFFANI THIESSEN is set to launch a new line of baby furniture.
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star, who became a mum in June when baby daughter Harper was born, has teamed up with designer Lonni Paul to create chairs, beds and sofas.
The ideas for PetitNest came about while Paul was designing a nursery for the actress.
Thiessen tells In Touch magazine, "As we were working, we discovered that all of the baby furniture out there kind of looks the same."

Aussie actor RYAN KWANTEN has a generous hotel boss to thank for his success in Hollywood - he gave the Aussie a room for free for three months so he could chase acting jobs.
The True Blood star was desperate when his cash ran out during a working vacation in the U.S. and a producer pal told him he should do whatever he could to stay.
He recalls, "It was a huge turning point in my life. I came to the states with a five-day ticket; two days in New York to promote a film called The Junction Boys and then three days holiday in L.A.
"I was packed and ready to leave to go back to Australia when I got a call from the executive producer of the film who said, ‘You might want to think about sticking around.’ I said, ‘I don’t have money,’ and she said, ‘Well, you may live to regret it’.
"When I heard it like that I sat on the edge of my bed and thought, ‘This is a point in one’s life where they either choose to go one way or the other.’ I didn’t have any money, so I had to figure out a way to afford to stay in L.A.
"I went downstairs and spoke to the manager of the hotel and asked to speak to the owner. He looked at me like I was crazy, which I probably was at that point, and, an hour later, I had a meeting with the owner. I sat him down and said, ‘Look, I don’t have any money but if you let me stay at the hotel for the next three months free, I will pay you back every red cent and more.’ "He didn’t hesitate and said yes and that was the beginning of my American career." And Kwanten was a man of his word: "He gave me a good rate. It was $55 a night, so, over the course of three months that was quite a lot of money. I have seen him since and I’ve paid him back.
"It was the Cadillac Hotel in Venice, for any budding actor out there trying to get going."

Internet pin-up and reality TV star TILA TEQUILA has branded a photographer’s allegation she kidnapped his girlfriend "absurd" and "laughable".
In a lawsuit filed earlier this week (27Oct10), snapper Garry Sun claimed Tequila and four armed men kidnapped his girlfriend, Shyla Jennings, from her Texas home and flew her to Los Angeles.
Sun alleges Tequila then threatened to kill Jennings if she called the police.
But the star, real name Tila Nguyen, maintains Sun is a disgruntled former employee, who she dismissed after he allegedly made "sexual advances" toward her.
In a post on her official website, she writes, "Garry Sun is the one who’s putting out these false accusations! He’s still angry because I fired him a couple of months back because he was making sexual advances towards me.
"Garry Sun is a crazed paparazzi who won’t leave me alone! I actually had to call the police on him one night because he kept trying to hang around my house and wouldn’t leave me alone.
"I remember calling the police on him finally because after I fired him, he went crazy and threatened to kill me… He’s just a crazed paparazzi who had a dangerous fatal attraction with me and is still angry that I fired him."

MARIAH CAREY only found out she was pregnant when she took a test to prove to gossips she wasn’t expecting.
The R&B superstar went public with the happy news in a series of TV chats on Thursday morning (28Oct10) and told Access Hollywood Live she only took a test because she and husband Nick Cannon were sick of reports she was with child earlier this year (10).
Carey explains, "They kept saying, ‘Oh, she’s pregnant,’ and we were like, ‘Ha ha, yeah, whatever,’ so we took the test and it was positive." The singer then swore her husband to secrecy: "Only one other person knew about this and we were like, ‘Let’s not tell anybody else’."

CELINE DION’s premature twin boys have been given the all-clear to go home with the singer and her husband five days after they were born in Florida.
The 42-year-old star gave birth to baby boys via a C-section on Saturday (23Oct10), but medics have been keeping a close eye on the tots, who weighed just five pounds (2.26 kilograms) at birth and were incubated.
Dion’s representative has confirmed that doctors at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida had discharged the babies on Thursday (28Oct10) tots, which spent the last few days in an incubator.
The rep tells People.com, "Everyone’s doing great. They are happy to be home."

CHARLIE SHEEN is set for another porn star embarrassment - his hit TV sitcom TWO & A HALF MEN has been turned into a hardcore sex romp.

The jury overseeing the ANNA NICOLE SMITH drug trial has reached a verdict after two weeks of deliberation.
The tragic actress/model’s physicians Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich and Smith’s lawyer and companion Howard K. Stern stand accused of conspiring to unlawfully provide controlled substances to an addict and of obtaining the medication through fraud.
During the two-month trial, prosecutors contended the three defendants used dubious methods to obtain and give powerful opiates and sedatives to Smith in years leading up to her accidental overdose at a Florida hotel in February, 2007.
Attorneys for the defendants argued that each of their clients were acting in Smith’s best interests.

TOM CRUISE and the cast and crew of the new MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movie are set for a new high - stunts will be filmed in the world’s highest building.
Scenes will be shot around Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and some of the action will take place in and on the Burj Khalifa tower, which stands tall at more than half a mile high.
Cruise tells the Associated Press, "I’ll be spending many days, many hours on the side of this building. I can’t give you details, but I will be up there." The movie star also revealed the title of the fourth blockbuster in the franchise - Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.
Cruise will be joined by Paula Patton and Jeremy Renner in the film - all three are currently in Dubai shooting scenes.
