JUDGE RULES AGAINST KENNEDY AND MONROE ‘LOVECHILD’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 pm

A man who claims to be the long lost lovechild of JOHN F. KENNEDY and MARILYN MONROE has lost his bid for a slice of the late U.S. President’s fortune.
John Burton, 55, from Queens, New York, alleges he is a product of an affair between the politician and the blonde beauty and he took his claim to court in 2008.
He sued the trustees of Kennedy’s estate in a bid to claim a portion of the assassinated leader’s fortune. A Manhattan federal judge dismissed the suit in 2009 and now an appeal court has upheld the initial ruling.
The three-judge panel didn’t consider whether Burton’s lineage claims are true, according to the New York Daily News, but ruled that Kennedy’s will doesn’t apply to children born out of wedlock.
Burton, who has legally changed his name to John Fitzgerald Kennedy, tells the newspaper, "It’s what’s been done to me all my life. President Kennedy was my father. He was my father before he was president… Things just got worse and worse after my mother died, and my father was killed."

GIBSON WON’T SEE DAUGHTER ON FIRST BIRTHDAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:15 pm

MEL GIBSON will miss his daughter LUCIA’s first birthday on Saturday (30Oct10) - a request for the baby to be allowed to stay with her father overnight has been turned down by a judge.
The Lethal Weapon star has asked a court to extend his visitation rights this weekend (30-31Oct10) because a nanny responsible for returning Lucia to her mother, Oksana Grigorieva, on Friday (29Oct10) has fallen ill.
If officials had agreed to the request, the actor would have spent some time with his daughter on her first birthday - but the plea was turned down because Gibson has more than one aide he can call on, according to TMZ.com.
Grigorieva, who split from Gibson earlier this year (10), alleged in legal papers that she believes the actor already has too much access to their baby.

OPRAH HIT WITH PLAGIARISM LAWSUIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:36 am

TV queen OPRAH WINFREY has been hit with a plagiarism lawsuit from an author who alleges he wrote content she read aloud on her hit U.S. talk show.
Charles Harris claims he sent Winfrey 10 copies of his political booklet, How America Elects Her Presidents, when she began supporting Barack Obama’s presidential campaign in 2008.
Harris never heard back but in an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show that aired in February 2009, the host asked questions from his political guide, according to a lawsuit filed on Tuesday (26Oct10) in U.S. District Court in Pennsylvania.
He insists the readings were plagiarism and constituted copyright infringement, which has "damaged (his) business reputation and goodwill".
Harris is seeking Winfrey’s profits or maximum statutory damages of up to $150,000 (£100,000) for each unlawful use, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A lost duet between late legends RAY CHARLES and JOHNNY CASH has been found in storage.
The duo recorded Kris Kristofferson song Why Me, Lord? in 1981 but the track was never released in any form.

MAY’S HEDGEHOG WARNING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 am

Animal-loving rocker BRIAN MAY has taken up a new cause - he’s warning revellers across Britain to avoid setting fire to hedgehogs during an upcoming fireworks holiday.
The Queen guitarist has been outspoken in his fight for the rights of animals including foxes and badgers, and now he’s hoping to spare the lives of unsuspecting hedgehogs across the U.K. as the country prepares to light bonfires to mark Guy Fawkes Night (05Nov10).
The annual celebration on 5 November involves building and igniting outdoor fires, as well as staging spectacular fireworks displays.
In a post on his official website, May writes, "If you are accumulating brushwood or branches and boxes, ready for your Guy Fawkes Night bonfire, please don’t accumulate it where the bonfire will actually be. This is exactly the time when our small spiky native hedgehogs are looking for a sheltered place to hibernate through the winter months.
"It’s all too easy to miss the fact that your early-prepared bonfire pile might have some small visitors hiding within it. So! Please be careful… it’s better bonfire technique anyway to build the pile on the day of burning it… give those hedgehogs a chance to run off to a safer place!"

MINAJ ‘IN SHOCK’ OVER EMINEM COLLABORATION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:30 am

NICKI MINAJ is still in shock after EMINEM agreed to a rap collaboration with her - because the hip-hop superstar had previously turned down her desperate pleas to work together.
Minaj never expected to land a duet with Eminem for her upcoming debut album Pink Friday - and was thrilled when he accepted.
She tells MTV.com, "We went out on a whim and put it in the air like, ‘It’d be great if he would collaborate with us.’ I remember I kept talking about it, and I thought, ‘It can’t hurt.’ I sent him one record, and he didn’t love it. He didn’t say, ‘I don’t love it’; he just said, ‘Can you send me something that’s a little more me?’ "I sent him an email and thanked him for that, just having enough respect. Sometimes people don’t respond. He had the respect, at least, to treat me like a peer." But the star decided to try her luck again and reached out to Eminem with her song Roman’s Revenge.
She adds, "He picked up the phone for that one… Even right now, I’m in shock… The real Slim Shady! It was the most fun song on Pink Friday. It gave me life."

WARNING OVER FAKE TAKE THAT TICKETS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:30 am

Police have issued a warning to TAKE THAT fans urging them not to purchase tickets for the British boyband’s upcoming tour unless they are sold through official vendors.
The Back for Good hitmakers announced plans for their first full trek together in 15 years earlier this week (begs25Oct10) and authorities have already found scam websites selling fake passes.
Fans eagerly anticipating the shows are being warned not to be duped by illegal sellers offering counterfeit tickets.
Detective Inspector Sean Crotty, of the Metropolitan Police Economic and Specialist Crime Command, says, "There are huge numbers of Take That fans who will be desperate to get hold of tickets for these concerts.
"However, buying tickets from unofficial websites or agencies could result in them losing money, having their credit cards details compromised and ultimately losing out on the opportunity to see the band." In August (10), a conman narrowly escaped a prison sentence after pleading guilty to targeting hundreds of Take That fans in an online ticket scam. Jason Debney was charged with fraud after selling more than $12,000 (£8,000)-worth of tickets on auction website eBay.com.

YOUNG BUCK AUCTION CALLED OFF

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:27 am

U.S. tax officials have called off an auction of items seized from YOUNG BUCK’s home after the rapper agreed to pay back his debts.
Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents raided the hip-hop star’s Tennessee property in August (10) and left with his most valuable assets after he allegedly failed to pay $300,000 (£200,000) in taxes.
The goods were due to be sold on Thursday (28Oct10) but IRS officers cancelled it after Young Buck’s bankruptcy lawyer took legal action to block the sale and agreed a payment plan with the government.
According to legal filings, attorney Lynda Jones claimed the raid caused the star’s family to become distressed, which prevented him from paying installments.
The former G-Unit star will reportedly put some of his real estate on the market to clear his delinquent taxes, reports The Tennessean.

DEL TORO FEELS ‘WIDOWED’ AFTER QUITTING HOBBIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:27 am

GUILLERMO DEL TORO is still suffering "incredible heartache" after quitting his job as director of THE HOBBIT, likening his departure to losing a spouse.
The Mexican moviemaker announced in May (10) that he was giving up on the Lord of the Rings prequel after it was put on hold indefinitely.
And Del Toro admits that after dedicating two years to pre-production, he was heartbroken to leave the project behind.
He tells Britain’s Film 2010, "It’s the hardest decision I’ve ever taken. I have incredible heartache. I feel terrible about it. It’s very hard. It’s getting a little easier to talk about it, but essentially it’s like you’ve been recently widowed and everybody (is) asking you how exactly your wife died. It’s pretty morbid.
"There was no other choice, I kept postponing, I kept fending off the problems, I kept compartmentalising, I kept with it, everything we could (do)." The film is back on track and due to begin shooting in February (11) and Del Toro admits he’ll be first in line to see it.
He adds, "I’ll be able to watch it and (I will) probably enjoy it. But you know, with The Hobbit, I feel like the guy (survival mountain climber Aron Ralston) in the real-life experience that Danny Boyle just did his movie (127 Hours about). I was hanging by a thread on my arm for so long that at the end of the day you have to cut it off. Do I like having one arm less? No. But did I have to? Yes."

QUAID: ‘I AM NOT CRAZY OR A CRIMINAL’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:24 am

RANDY QUAID has spoken out to address his recent arrest and legal woes, insisting he and his wife EVI are not "crazy".
The actor and his wife were released from custody in Vancouver, Canada on Wednesday (27Oct10), where they were being held on a California warrant issued after they failed to show up for an arraignment earlier this month (Oct10) to face felony vandalism charges.
But speaking to reporters after a brief immigration hearing on Thursday (28Oct10), the Brokeback Mountain star maintained his innocence.
He told reporters, "Up until a year ago, Evi and I had never had any run-in with the law whatsoever. We are not criminals, nor are we fugitives from justice, nor are we crazy.
"We are simply artists and film-makers being racketeered on." The pair, who landed in trouble after allegedly squatting in a Montecito home they once owned, have requested asylum in Canada over fears they will be murdered for their money.
Quaid’s hearing is scheduled to resume on 8 November (10), according to Reuters.
