LOPEZ PERSUADED ANTHONY TO ALLOW KIDS IN GUCCI AD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:55 am

JENNIFER LOPEZ’s cute new advertisement for fashion house Gucci with her twin babies almost never happened - because her husband MARC ANTHONY refused to turn the spotlight on their children.
The singer/actress reveals she struggled to persuade Anthony to agree to let their kids Max and Emme join their superstar mum and model in the photo spread, admitting he only relented because it was all for children’s charity UNICEF.
Lopez says, "It was hard because we’re not the kind of parents to parade the kids around and I don’t like the paparazzi - I call them the stalkerazzi - so we try to shelter them from that.
"It was tough. Marc was like, ‘I don’t want the kids to be in that.’ And I was like, ‘You know what baby, it’s for charity and they will cast other babies to be in it with me. I want it to be our babies. I want years from now when they look at it, that they know mummy didn’t have stand in kids. Like, why didn’t you use me mummy!’ "And because it was for charity, Marc was like, ‘OK, OK, well let’s see what it is, we have to have approval of the best photos at the end…’ And it turned out to be the best experience. It was for UNICEF." The intimate shots of the proud mum and her two-year-old tots on the beach in Malibu, California are part of Gucci’s campaign for their new children’s fashion line.
Gucci bosses have agreed to make a donations to UNICEF and the Maribel Foundation, the charity Lopez founded with her sister Lynda.

SHAKIRA FEARS FILM FINE FOR ILLEGAL VIDEO SHOOT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:53 am

Latino pop superstar SHAKIRA fears she’s facing a hefty fine when she returns to her adopted Barcelona, Spain - for shooting a video without a filming permit.
The sexy singer took to the streets of the historic city on rollerskates to shoot her new video Loco after abandoning her first attempt to make the promo.
The hip-shaking Colombian pin-up was unhappy with director Jaume de Laiguana’s initial treatment and persuaded him to follow her around Barcelona, trying to avoid mobs of fans.
She says, "It was so fun… Two days before we shot this video, we had a completely different plan - we were gonna do a black and white video in a studio and I wasn’t feeling really comfortable with it.
"I just said, ‘Let’s just go out to the streets… and just shoot all day long and whatever happens happens.’ "We had no permits to shoot this video whatsoever… and I ended up jumping in a public fountain and riding a bike with a complete stranger without a helmet, so I’m probably gonna get fined when I get back to Barcelona." But she insists it will be worth it for the fun she had with fans in the city: "It was the best experience in my life… I think music is about spontaneity and I refuse to lose that aspect of my life."

ROCKER WAY DRIVES OFF IN DREAM TRANS AM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:52 am

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE star GERARD WAY has scored the ultimate treat in the band’s new video - the chance to get behind the wheel of his dream car, a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am.
The rocker dreamed of owning the car when he was growing up and now the classic vehicle is the star of his group’s Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na) promo.
The motor was "beautifully restored" by classic car hunter Dennis McCarthy, who is best known for his work on The Fast and the Furious and Death Race.
Way tells WENN, "Trans Ams are special to me because I was fascinated with them as a boy. They were the first cars I actually thought were cool.
"The Trans Am is a muscle car that has always symbolised freedom to me, and I was definitely a little bit of a metal-head. Plus, it has a T-Top for easy rocket-launching ability, which we definitely needed for the video." The car in the video was purchased on eBay.com and restored by McCarthy and his team in Los Angeles.

RAP MOGUL ROSEMOND FILES LIBEL SUIT OVER POLICE INFORMANT ALLEGATIONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:50 am

Hip-hop mogul JIMMY ‘HENCHMAN’ ROSEMOND has filed a $110 million (£73.3 million) libel lawsuit against award-winning journalist CHUCK PHILLIPS and the editors of the New York Daily News over an article alleging he served as a police informant.
Phillips was fired as a Los Angeles Times contributor after he wrongfully accused the record executive of setting up rap star Tupac Shakur for a violent 1994 robbery in a 2008 article.
Rapper and label boss Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was also named in the scandalous piece about the New York studio incident, which ended in an attempt on Shakur’s life.
Phillips and the Times’ publishers were subsequently forced to issue a formal apology to Rosemond and Combs when it was discovered that the writer’s main source of evidence had been based on forged documents by convicted conman James Sabatino - an inmate who claimed to have worked with Rosemond early on in his career. The Times also settled a lawsuit filed by Rosemond over the false accusations.
However, the scandal hit the headlines again in September (10) when a reporter for the New York Daily News claimed to have obtained sealed court documents stemming from 1996 gun charges against Rosemond, which reportedly suggested the music executive had been working as a police informant since the mid-1990s.
In the Daily News article, titled ‘You Don’t Say? No-Snitch Advocate Exposed as Informant’, Rosemond was accused of providing information to the authorities on at least three occasions following his gun bust.
The piece also suggested Rosemond’s then-lawyer argued for leniency when he was sentenced in Los Angeles in 2000 because of his "assistance". He was handed a 19-month prison term.
But Rosemond disputes the details of the article and he has launched a legal fight to clear his name once and for all, holding journalist Phillips responsible for sparking the whole controversy with his alleged inaccurate investigative reporting surrounding the unsolved murders of Shakur and his New York rap rival The Notorious B.I.G., aka Christopher Wallace.
Rosemond’s lawyer David Feinstein tells Vibe.com, "It never fails every year around Tupac’s death that Chuck Phillips raises his fabricated mouth against Jimmy Rosemond but we intend to silence his foul mouth with this lawsuit and bury these tampered minutes and paperwork that Chuck Phillips received from jealous and envious inmates, which is the basis of this fairytale story the Daily News wrote.
"Jimmy Rosemond has paid his dues to society and, since his release from jail a decade ago, he’s been active in his community, working with troubled youths, and has worked extensively abroad in Haiti. The only thing Jimmy Rosemond is guilty of is being an accomplished manager for singers and rappers and now he’s a victim of his own success."

MICHELE PROUD SHE DIDN’T GET A NOSE JOB

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:47 am

LEA MICHELE is proud she never bowed to pressure from Hollywood producers and high school bullies to get a nose job - because her hit show GLEE proves she didn’t need surgery to be a star.
The 24 year old has admitted she struggled with insecurity as a young actress, and was turned down for several jobs after being told she wasn’t pretty enough to be a big star.
The pressure became so intense, Michele admits she seriously considered cosmetic surgery, but now she’s lashed out at the people who encouraged her to go under the knife early on.
She tells America’s GQ magazine, "I was one of the only girls in my high school that didn’t get one. And if anybody needed it, I probably did. But my mum always told me, growing up, ‘Barbra Streisand didn’t get a nose job. You’re not getting a nose job.’ And I didn’t. F**k those people." And she hopes her success serves as an example to young girls to embrace their perceived imperfections: "That’s why I’m proud to be on a positive show and to be a voice for girls and say, ‘You don’t need to look like everybody else. Love who you are.’"

T.I.’S INTERVENTION HELPED SUICIDAL MAN REEVALUATE LIFE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:26 pm

T.I. has been publicly praised for helping a suicidal man realise how much his family would suffer had the rapper not talked him down from the roof of an Atlanta, Georgia building last week (13Oct10).
The Live Your Life star, real name Clifford Harris, Jr., was running errands in his native Atlanta when he heard about the stand-off between cops and desperate local Joshua Starks on the radio.
He drove to the site of a 22-storey building, where the 24 year old was threatening to leap to his death, to see if he could help. Police persuaded Starks to step away from the roof’s edge after showing him a heartfelt video of T.I. pleading with him not to end his life.
Starks, who was briefly hospitalised after the incident, reunited with his hip-hop hero on Monday (18Oct10) to discuss the turn of events on an Atlanta radio station, and he admitted the rapper’s plea had made him reevaluate his life.
He said, "Knowing you have a strong support group of people who really do care about you, which I now know more than ever, and to just not only not let them down, but not let myself down either anymore… After I got off the ledge and everything, that’s kind of how I felt myself: ‘Man, I was really about to let myself down and let everything go’." And T.I. is grateful to have helped Starks overcome his troubles: "All of the things we go through in life, they just prepare us for the next battle. I think you were able to make it through this with, I guess, minimal injury, maximum lesson learned." The radio interview occurred three days after T.I. was ordered to serve another 11 months in prison for violating his probation. He was handed the punishment on Friday (15Oct10) and must turn himself into authorities by 1 November (10).
