WALSH DISMISSES COWELL GAY RUMOURS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:13 am

Irish music svengali LOUIS WALSH has laughed off persistent rumours entertainment mogul SIMON COWELL is secretly gay, insisting he loves women too much.
Cowell, who is currently engaged to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy, has dated a string of beauties including pop star Sinitta and TV presenter Terri Seymour, but rumours surrounding his sexuality have never stopped swirling - and many gossips claim he has been hiding his true thoughts and feelings for years.
But Westlife boss Walsh, who sits on the panel of U.K. talent show The X Factor alongside Cowell, admits he is baffled by the unfounded reports - because his 51-year-old friend is easily "distracted by a pair of breasts".
Gay Walsh tells Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, "He’s not gay. Not at all. He’s camp. He’s theatrical. But he’s absolutely not gay. No way. He loves women. Haven’t you seen the way he looks at girls? He’ll get distracted by a pair of breasts."

EASTWOOD THRILLS NUMBER ONE FAN PICKLER ON TV SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:13 am

Country star KELLIE PICKLER had the thrill of her life during a recent appearance on ELLEN DEGENERES’ talk show when CLINT EASTWOOD dropped by to say hello.
The singer was cooing about how much she adored the actor/director during a taping of Thursday’s (21Oct10) show when Eastwood strolled onto the set and embraced her.
Pickler could hardly contain herself, shrieking and jumping around the filmmaker.
She then insisted her hero take her seat and sat on his lap, stating, "I don’t want to break your leg, ‘cos I’m heavy." Pickler also clasped Eastwood’s hand to her chest, breathlessly telling him to "feel my heart".
As the movie star left the show, giddy Pickler turned to the host and said, "What do we do now?" DeGeneres noticed that Pickler was so smitten with Eastwood, she turned her engagement ring around as she sat on his lap - and asked all about the singer’s fiance Kyle Jacobs.
Still flushed from her meeting with Eastwood, Picker said, "We don’t have to talk about him." As she composed herself, she felt ashamed that she’d been so forward with the legend: "He’s married and I kissed him on the mouth, and I’m engaged.
"I write songs about people like that. I’m turning into a person I hate. I’ve not even walked down the aisle and I’m an adulteress."

FIRTH’S ROYAL RATING LOWERED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:11 am

British film classification bosses have lowered the age rating of COLIN FIRTH’s new movie THE KING’S SPEECH after reconsidering the strict original decision.
Director Tom Hooper was initially left fuming when officials at the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) gave the new picture a 15 certificate, meaning anyone below that age would be prohibited from watching.
He told reporters, "My head is in my hands about it. I go to see Salt where a tube is force fed down Angelina Jolie’s throat and poured water down her throat to simulate drowning - that’s not a problem." The film sees Firth tackle the role of British monarch King George VI and the strict age restriction was put in place because of scenes which see the King being advised to swear profusely to help him overcome a stammer.
But after re-evaluating its decision, the Board has now dropped the rating to 12A, which will let children of 12 years old and over see the film, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
A statement from the BBFC reads, "The strong language is not aggressive and not directed at any person. After careful consideration… the (BBFC) board took the view that the way the strong language is presented in The King’s Speech did not contravene the language guidelines at 12A and that the public would understand why the board has reached this decision."

THE FONZ PAYS TRIBUTE TO HAPPY DAYS DAD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:07 am

HAPPY DAYS star HENRY WINKLER has paid tribute to late co-star TOM BOSLEY on the eve of the beloved TV actor’s funeral in Los Angeles.
Winkler, who played Arthur ‘The Fonz’ Fonzarelli opposite Bosley on the hit 1980s sitcom, tells People.com he last spoke to his old friend three weeks ago, as he was battling lung cancer.
The actor says, "He had just gone through several bouts of chemo, and you always heard him in a positive, forward attitude. He was always looking forward." Bosley died at his home in Palm Springs, California on Tuesday (19Oct10) and Winkler admits he has nothing but fond memories of his co-star and pal.
He adds, "He had that wonderful, sprite-like energy of his. It was apparent on the phone when I spoke to him three weeks ago, it was apparent when we saw each other a year ago, it was apparent when we saw each other before that.
"Whoever worked with him was very lucky because he brought an enormous amount of experience and an enormous amount of wonderful talents. He was one of our best character actors." And he was always the father figure among the Happy Day cast - even when the cameras weren’t rolling.
Winkler explains, "When you are going into buying a house and you needed to get insurance and stuff like that, he would break it down, he would explain it, and then he would tell you who you had to talk to and find a good insurance person and so on and so forth. and you knew at least what the right questions were to ask."

PRESLEY REALISED JACKSON WAS ON DRUGS JUST BEFORE SHE FILED FOR DIVORCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:55 am

LISA MARIE PRESLEY began to suspect her ex-husband MICHAEL JACKSON had a drug problem just before she filed for divorce from the King of Pop in 1996.
After 18 months of marriage to the pop superstar, Presley realised Jackson wasn’t always as clear and sober as he should have been and she started to put the pieces together after he collapsed onstage at a rehearsal for a TV show in late 1995.
In a candid interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired in America on Thursday (21Oct10), the former Mrs. Michael Jackson said, "He was in the hospital… Everybody flew to the hospital - it was very confusing what was wrong because every day there was a different report and I couldn’t tell what was happening: dehydration, low blood pressure, exhaustion, a virus. I couldn’t really get a straight answer as to what was happening with him.
"At that point, I think I really got, from various indications… I believed that that (drug uses) was going on then.
"There were times when I would pick him up from a certain doctor’s office and he would not be coherent and there was some behaviour… he would need certain things… for injections or whatever various dermatological (issues)." And Jackson’s well-documented insomnia issues had also come to light during the marriage.
Presley added, "He was like a little gnome… running around the room, because it was hard for me to sleep. A lot of times I couldn’t sleep either if he wasn’t sleeping… It was a bit endearing and I didn’t mind it but he did have a hard time sleeping."

JACKSON KNEW HE’D DIE LIKE PRESLEY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:55 am

MICHAEL JACKSON had an odd premonition he’d die just like his ex-wife LISA MARIE PRESLEY’s tragic father - and constantly told her of his fears when the two were married in the mid-1990s.
Presley was chilled when she heard the King of Pop had died from an overdose of powerful anaesthetic Propofol last year (Jun09) - because in many ways the tragedy mirrored that of her father’s passing in 1977.
And her ex-husband’s fateful words came back to haunt her.
In a candid TV chat with Oprah Winfrey, which aired in America on Thursday (21Oct10), Presley explained, "When I was watching the footage of the ambulance backing out of the driveway, I went back to this conversation I had with him (Jackson) at Neverland in the library; we were sitting by the fire.
"He was telling me that he was afraid that he was gonna end up like my father. He was always asking me about when he died and how it happened." And Presley still can’t believe how many similarities there are in the drug-related deaths of the two men she loved: "Down to the play-by-play-by-play incident, it was identical.
"It really blows me away to be honest with you. I still try to figure out what is it that I had to go through it twice, where these two incredible people… had the same fate. What is it about me? I went through it once and that was painful and I went thought it again and I don’t quite understand it."

ELTON DISAPPOINTED BY TODAY’S POP STARS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:52 am

SIR ELTON JOHN is convinced pop stars like JENNIFER LOPEZ will be completely forgotten in the coming decades - because they rely too heavily on songwriters to pen their hits.
The veteran entertainer misses the days when singer/songwriters ruled the charts, insisting the ability of being able to write and record your own hits is key for pop stars to connect with music fans.
He says, "In the ’70s you could buy records every week by Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Carole King, James Taylor - great songwriters whose songs lasted forever." But the Rocket Man is convinced pop hits from stars like J.Lo won’t be relevant in years to come, because, "Now it’s all about getting on the radio" instead of making quality music.
He says, "Nobody’s gonna be singing (Lopez hit) Jenny from the Block in 10 year’s time.
"I think Lady Gaga writes great songs, and I think there are some people who do write great songs but, in general, if you’re a singer who relies on people to write songs for you… they’re really in a sticky position."

USHER LOST VIRGINITY AT 13

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:52 am

Suave R&B superstar USHER was an early Casanova and lost his virginity at the age of 13.
The Yeah! hunk rose to stardom as soon as he became a teenager after landing a record deal with LaFace Records following an appearance on U.S. TV talent show Star Search.
Usher admits he took advantage of his fame and was soon bedding girls on a regular basis - although his early intimate experiences were meaningless because he had no idea what he was doing.
He tells Vibe magazine, "I started having sex at 13. I didn’t understand why I was having sex until I was about 17 or 18.
"Let’s just say this: I didn’t realise (that) you start to finish (give his partner an orgasm). Up until that point, I had never finished. I just always had sex. I understood that I gotta make sure I please this woman, and I hope that her making those noises aren’t pain!"

PRESLEY WEPT AS JACKSON DEATH NEWS LOOMED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:52 am

LISA MARIE PRESLEY experienced the "strangest day" of her life when ex-husband MICHAEL JACKSON died - because she spent hours sobbing uncontrollably before she had even heard the terrible news.
The rock star, who was married to the King of Pop for two years in the mid-1990s, had to halt recording on her new album in England and retire to her country retreat because she was so emotional - and she had no idea why.
In a frank and candid interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired in America on Thursday (21Oct10), Presley recalled the moment she first heard Jackson had died in June, 2009, admitting she knew something devastating was about to happen.
She said, "It was the strangest day of my life; I was crying all day… I don’t normally do that… I was literally cutting my food, eating my dinner crying and I wanted to go upstairs and just go to bed and watch something mindless on TV and stop crying.
"I looked at my husband (Michael Lockwood) and said, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with me - I just can’t stop!’ "And then, an hour later the knock came and I heard… It was a friend of mine… and actually I started getting texts: ‘Are you OK? Are you OK? John Travolta was one of the first texts I got: ‘Are you alright?’ I said, ‘Is this actually happening…?’ "I was floored, honestly floored." The following day, she posted her thoughts about the tragedy on her blog, writing, "The person I failed to help is being transferred right now to the L.A. County Coroner’s office for his autopsy. All my indifference and detachment that I worked so hard to achieve over the years has just gone into the bowels of hell and right now I am gutted." She recalled what drove her to posting the message to fans: "I was just in floods of tears… and I had a moment of clarity and realised all this bitterness I thought I had (towards Jackson) and indifference, it was no longer (there)." But the singer refused all requests for an interview about the tragedy until Winfrey persuaded her to sit down for a chat - because she needed to take time to understand her emotions and her feelings for an ex-husband she once felt never truly loved her.
Presley told Oprah, "This whole last year and a half has been spent trying to gain the clarity, because, at some point, I pushed it away and I just had to move on with my life and then that happened. It was like a tidal wave." And she’s glad she took time to pick her words carefully: "I understand him (Jackson) now more than I ever did so when I speak about him, I can speak about him with understanding. It’s all good now.
"I was so angry (with him) because we were so united and at some point he pushed me out… There was a very profound point in the marriage when he had to make a decision: Was it the drugs and the vampires or me and he pushed me away."

"Lucy is in her third trimester for the fourth time and I think that’s about enough to ask of any woman." And Damon is now looking forward to seeing his little ladies grow up: "If I had a bucket list, I’d say raising my four girls to be strong, good women would be number one."

THE CARS READY TO DRIVE AGAIN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:49 am

Rocker RIC OCASEK and THE CARS have reunited to record their first album in 23 years.
The news comes more than three months after the founding members of the Drive band teased fans with a recording studio photo posted online.
The group posted a snippet of a new song, Blue Tip, on its Facebook.com page over the weekend (15-17Oct10), but provided no additional information.
Now, the band’s engineer Paul Orofino has confirmed the quartet is working on a new album at his studio in New York, revealing in a post online that keyboard player Greg Hawkes played and programmed the bass parts for new songs in the absence of The Cars’ original bassist Benjamin Orr, who died in 2000.
Sources tell Billboard.com the group is strongly considering a tour, but dates have yet to be confirmed.
The Cars split in 1988 and Ocasek became a top talent executive and producer at Elektra Records.
The group came together in 2005 but Ocasek refused to be a part of a reunion tour and Elliot Easton and Hawkes hit the road instead with Todd Rundgren, Prairie Prince and Kasim Sulton as The New Cars.

FOUR TOPS HEIRS SUE SOLE SURVIVING MEMBER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:46 am

The heirs of late FOUR TOPS founder RENALDO ‘OBIE’ BENSON have filed suit against the group’s sole surviving member, amid allegations he’s failed to pay revenue to the band’s business group.
The singer/songwriter’s daughters Tobi Walker and Eboni Benson claim Abdul "Duke" Fakir has failed to account for money owed to The Four Tops LLC in documents filed in Detroit, Michigan’s Wayne County Circuit Court this week (begs18Oct10), reports Detroit News.
