LOHAN WORRIES FASHION LINE WILL COLLAPSE WHILE IN REHAB

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:04 am

LINDSAY LOHAN fears an extended stay in rehab will ruin her movie career and spell the end for her clothing collection, according to court documents filed by her probation officer.
The Mean Girls star appeared in Beverly Hills Courthouse in Los Angeles on Friday (22Oct10), when Judge Elden Fox ruled she had violated her probation by failing two mandatory drug tests in September (10).
He rejected the prosecution’s suggested three-month jail term and ordered the actress to return to the Betty Ford clinic in Rancho Mirage, California, where she’s spent the last three weeks in treatment, to continue battling her drug demons until January (11).
But Lohan will not be happy with the rehab news - according to her probation report, the star told her parole officer her 6126 Collection fashion range was already in trouble.
In Probation Department papers submitted to court on Friday and obtained by TMZ.com, the officer states: "The defendant says her clothing line is falling apart because she is not available to monitor the product." However, Lohan’s probation adviser insists rehab is the best option for the actress, claiming she "needs to continue to work on her issues in order to save her life".
Lohan must remain as an in-patient until at least 3 January (11), and she will be subjected to random drug testing until her next court date on 25 February (11).

Actress-turned-singer TAYLOR MOMSEN shocked concert-goers at a show in New York on Thursday (21Oct10) when she flashed her breasts in the middle of a song.

SIMPSON DENIED APPEAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:59 am

O.J. SIMPSON’s lawyers are preparing another appeal to overturn his kidnap and armed robbery convictions after a Nevada judge ruled against him on Friday (22Oct10).
The former American footballer-turned-actor is serving a minimum of nine years in prison after he was found guilty of masterminding a heist on two sports memorabilia dealers’ hotel room in September 2007, to retrieve family photos and mementos. He was convicted in December (08).
The retired sportsman lodged an appeal in May 2009, claiming judicial misconduct, a lack of racial diversity on the jury and errors in sentencing and jury instructions.
On Friday, a judge concluded each of Simpson’s eight appeal arguments were without merit.
The 63-year-old’s attorney Yale Galanter characterised Simpson’s conviction as "payback" for the star’s double-murder acquittal involving the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman. Galanter plans to file a new appeal.
He tells the Associated Press, "This is but the first step in a very long line of appeals that Mr. Simpson has before him." In a separate ruling, the court ordered the conviction of Simpson’s co-defendant Clarence ‘C.J.’ Stewart to be reversed and a new trial held. Stewart, who was also convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy, is serving seven-and-a-half to 27 years.
Four other men took plea deals and received probation.

NEESON REPLACING GIBSON IN THE HANGOVER SEQUEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:58 am

LIAM NEESON is set to step into MEL GIBSON’s shoes and take over his high-profile cameo in THE HANGOVER sequel.
The Braveheart star was expected to make his career comeback with a guest role in the upcoming comedy after a tough few months following his split from ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, who has accused the actor of beating her during a violent altercation earlier this year (10).
However, his light-hearted appearance was axed this week (begs18Oct10) following reports the movie’s cast angrily objected to sharing the spotlight with the troubled star.
In a statement, director Todd Phillips said: "I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of (Warner Brothers boss) Jeff Robinov and his team. But I realise filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew." Neeson has been approached to replace Gibson and he’s finalising talks to star as a tattoo artist - a role which would see him reunited with his The A-Team co-star Bradley Cooper.
Neeson tells trade paper Variety, "I just got a call to do a one day shoot on Hangover as a tattooist in Thailand… That’s all I know about it." The funny film also stars Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha and Ed Helms.

RANDY AND EVI QUAID DETAINED IN CANADA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:58 am

The pair became wanted criminals after failing to show up for an arraignment hearing in a Santa Barbara courthouse on Monday (18Oct10). The court date stemmed from their arrest in September (10), when they were busted for felony vandalism for allegedly squatting in a Montecito home they once owned.

The Quaids were expected to appear before a judge at a detention hearing in Vancouver on Friday afternoon (22Oct10).
They are due back in court in Santa Barbara on 26 October (10).

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:28 pm

Hip-hop mogul RUSSELL SIMMONS has apologised to pal COURTNEY LOVE after insulting the singer by calling her a "crackhead" for posting nude pictures of herself online.
The Def Jam co-founder recently poked fun at Love for accidentally uploading raunchy photos of herself on social networking website Twitter.com earlier this month (Oct10).
Love, who has candidly spoken about her battle with drug addiction, was so embarrassed by the scandal she shut down her Twitter account.

But Love failed to see the funny side and responded to the newspaper, "I’m fairly insulted that he associates me with that drug. What does that mean?" Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:28 pm

Tragic THE SLITS star ARI UP was battling cancer in the months leading up to her death on Wednesday (20Oct10) but failed to tell her bandmates how serious her illness had become.

Out of respect for the family I don’t really want to talk about it. It was cancer, that’s all I’ll say." And the grieving star has paid tribute to Up, describing her as a "total rebellious soul".
She adds, "(Up was) such a compassionate person, the original wild child, if you will. And a musical genius not really given the recognition in her lifetime."

BRAND’S BODYGUARDS ACCUSED OF ASSAULTING PAPARAZZI

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:26 pm

KATY PERRY’s impending wedding to RUSSELL BRAND has been overshadowed by allegations the comedian’s security guards assaulted a group of paparazzi at a safari reserve in India on Friday (22Oct10).
The loved-up stars are set to wed on Saturday (23Oct10) at the luxury Aman-I-Khas resort in Jaipur, Rajasthan and they treated guests to an outdoor tiger adventure in the Ranthambhore region on the eve of their big day.
Photographers eager to snap pictures of the wedding party followed behind a jeep carrying Brand and a group of friends, but they found themselves targeted by the funnyman’s bodyguards after taking several shots.
According to the Associated Press, a guard approached the paparazzi vehicle and reportedly punched the driver in the face and stole their car keys - as Brand allegedly looked on.
One photographer, Mustafa Quraishi, tried to retrieve the keys, but the guard is alleged to have turned on him and beaten him up, breaking his glasses and smashing his camera, causing a cut to his arm.
Two other snappers are said to have been assaulted as they attempted to come to Quraishi’s rescue, and one suffered a bleeding wound on his head.
The men then drove off, leaving the photographers stranded in the middle of the safari park. The snappers were later rescued by park rangers who had taken the keys from the security guards.
It’s the second time Brand has been caught up in an assault scandal - he was charged with battery in September (10) following an altercation with a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport.
However, Brand is likely to escape further punishment over the incident and will reportedly receive a reprimand from a judge at a hearing in L.A. next month (Nov10).

The Mean Girls star has spent the summer (10) in and out of jail and rehab as she battles her drug demons.
She was hauled back in front of a judge late last month (Sep10) over allegations she failed two court-ordered drug tests and was told to spend a month in prison, but walked free after posting $300,000 (£200,000) bail.
