RIVERS SCRAPS OBAMA JOKE OVER RACISM FEARS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:21 pm

Comedienne JOAN RIVERS ditched a gag about MICHELLE OBAMA from her routine - because she feared she’d be accused of racism.
The comedy legend wrote a joke about U.S. President Barack Obama’s wife, poking fun at her dress sense and comparing her to former First Lady Jackie Onassis by dubbing her "Blackie O".
But she backed out of using the line on her chat show for U.S. network E! - to avoid criticism that the joke was racially-motivated.
Rivers tells Britain’s Independent Magazine, "I was going to compare her to Jackie O, but call her Blackie O."

NO MORE BACK TO THE FUTURE WITHOUT FOX

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:18 pm

Movie bosses behind the BACK TO THE FUTURE films have ruled out reviving the franchise - because they would never consider revisiting the story without MICHAEL J. FOX.
Fox played iconic teenage hero Marty McFly in three films, and previously admitted he would be happy to see the movies rebooted with a new, young cast.
He said, "I’m 44-years-old now and I’m not interested in running around on skateboards!… I think if they did it again now they would do it with a younger cast and just do a different realisation of it, which would be fun." But director Robert Zemeckis and screenwriter Bob Gale are adamant they would never move forward on the project without Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991 and semi-retired from acting in 2000 when his symptoms worsened.
Gale tells ComingSoon.net, "The story is closed. When Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s we said ‘Come on. Who wants to see a Back to the Future movie if Michael J. Fox isn’t in it?’ I don’t. He didn’t. Nobody does." Zemeckis adds, "I think three is a good number to end on. Three is enough."

CUMMING SLAMS OBAMA OVER GAY RIGHTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:13 pm

Scottish actor ALAN CUMMING has taken aim at U.S. President BARACK OBAMA, accusing him of failing to improve gay rights since he swept to power.
The GoldenEye star is furious Obama has delayed on his pledge to overturn the ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy, which bans openly-gay citizens from serving in the military.
And he is adamant the failure to throw out the rule means the U.S. leader is refusing to tackle homophobic bullying.
In a post on his official blog, Cumming writes, "We keep hearing that Obama is an ally, that Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell will end under his watch, but what do we actually get? Diddly squat (nothing) thus far on a federal level.
"In addition, there have been some very offensive statements that would have made the Republicans look bad. How can we counsel our children not to bully their gay classmates or mock their gay friends when they see their president refusing to do the equivalent to troops?"

CATTRALL BLAMES BAD SEX FOR FAILED MARRIAGES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:13 pm

KIM CATTRALL knows the importance of a satisfying love life - she blames bad sex for the breakdown of two of her marriages.
The Sex and the City star has wed three times - she was married to Larry Davis for two years in the late 1970s, to Andre J. Lyson from 1982 to 1989, and a six-year union with Mark Levinson ended in 2004.
And she is adamant she knows why her relationships with Davis and Lyson failed - she was not compatible with them in bed.
Cattrall tells Britain’s The Sun, "I would constantly make excuses for bad sexual experiences. Poor sex was a factor in the first two of three marriages breaking up.
"It is one thing to have patience and build up a good sexual relationship, through love. But, with some men - I would say, in my experience, the majority of men - it is just never going to happen. I wish I had not made an orgasm my only goal. It is all about all-round sexual fulfilment." Cattrall has also realised where she went wrong when choosing a man - because good-looking hunks are not always the best lovers.
She adds, "I wish I had realised that good looks mean nothing when it comes to sex. Everyone expects great-looking guys and women to be having great sex. That’s not true.
"I always had a sexy image, on camera, but I was not having a fabulous sex life. You cannot be intimate with an image. I remember going to bed with a real good-looking ladies’ man, in the hope that he would teach me what I had been missing. He didn’t."

PRICE REVEALS IVF HELL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:12 pm

British glamour model KATIE PRICE has opened up about her battle to conceive a baby with her new husband ALEX REID, describing her misery after months of failed fertility treatments.
The TV star, also known as Jordan, is mother to two children with her ex-husband Peter Andre, as well as a son from a previous relationship, and Price admits when she married cagefighter Reid in February (10) she was desperate to have a child with him.
After eights months of trying to conceive, the couple consulted doctors and embarked on a series of painful in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatments, but the 32-year-old star has still failed to fall pregnant.
In her new book, You Only Live Once, she writes, "After marrying Alex I had only one thing on my mind - having another baby. I’d love to have another four, in fact. But by April 2010, after we had been trying for eight months, I became so worried we made an appointment with a fertility doctor… Tests revealed neither of us had a fertility problem, but the sperm simply weren’t connecting with the egg… We were having ICSI (Intra-cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) which has a 65% success rate." Price was convinced she was pregnant after her first treatment, but was devastated when she realised the process had been unsuccessful: "For the first few days I held on to the feeling of optimism, but then the waiting got to me. Then I started experiencing stomach cramps and bleeding. A wave of shock and disappointment went through me…" But Price is refusing to give up hope of having a baby with her husband, and will consider adopting in the future.
She adds, "I know I’m lucky to have three beautiful children. While Alex doesn’t yet have a biological child, he is still part of a family with kids. I am sure we’ll have a baby together one day. If we aren’t successful in our attempts then we will adopt."

N-DUBZ REVAMP SOUND FOR U.S. FANS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:12 pm

British hip-hop stars N-DUBZ are bracing themselves for a fan backlash after changing their sound to please American audiences.
The trio, famed for their London street style, is preparing to release new album Best Behaviour after signing a deal with U.S. label Def Jam.
But singer Tula ‘Tulisa’ Contostavlos admits their upcoming offering will surprise their loyal devotees.
She says, "People are going to have a big shock when they hear our new album. We’ve had to accommodate the Americans and at the end of (the) day they don’t wanna hear what we make in the U.K.
"I reckon people will be shocked and some won’t like it. They’ll say, ‘You’ve gone all American.’ (But) if you wanna sell records in America, you have to be willing to change your style a little bit. You either like it or lump it and it’s better than no album at all." And Contostavlos is even changing her appearance ahead of the band’s American launch.
She adds: "Making new music doesn’t mean selling out, it’s just trying something new. I’m a musician but I’m also an entertainer. Our American A&R (artists and repertoire) guy recently said he preferred me blonde. And while I don’t really care what colour my hair is, I said I’d dye it… if they wanted."

BUBLE GLAD HE DIDN’T FIND FAME ON TV TALENT SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:10 pm

Canadian crooner MICHAEL BUBLE is relieved he didn’t find fame as a contestant on a TV talent show, insisting years of "tough gigs" kept his ego from inflating.
The Everything hitmaker struggled to make a name for himself as he played in empty bars at the start of his career, and admits he would have gladly tried his luck on programmes such as American Idol or The X Factor if they had existed while he was a wannabe singer.
But Buble is glad he endured so many "years of struggling" - because he would have been overwhelmed by the instant fame if he’d been launched into the spotlight through a TV series.
He says, "At about 15 I started going to nightclubs and bars and I started singing and doing the nightclub circuit and corporate events. I did that (for) 10 years, 11 years. That’s desperation, that’s what that is! The thing is, you either come and do a show like X Factor and one day you’re not famous and one day it’s happened. Or you do it the way I did it. Both are probably good (but) I’m glad I did it the way I did it because it made me appreciate where I am now. I think I needed to take more time or my ego would have been way out of control, absolutely.
"I would have done a show like this (The X Factor). Listen, I would have done whatever I had to do. Consistently, though my career, that is what I did. I did what everybody does - I played a lot of tough gigs and a lot of years of struggling."
