LATE ANDERSON ANNOYS DANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:30 pm

PAMELA ANDERSON fell foul of British actor CHARLES DANCE after turning up late for their London film premiere on Monday (25Oct10).
Dance was one of the stars, including Dev Patel, Ed Westwick and Jermaine Jackson, who flocked to Aqua nightclub in the British capital to launch the short film, The Commuter.
But he was allegedly left fuming when the Baywatch beauty held up the evening with her late arrival, which she blamed on a wardrobe malfunction.
A source tells Britain’s Daily Express, "Charles was furious, going on about how annoying it was that Pamela was so late to her own premiere." According to the report, Dance’s fiancee Eleanor Boorman was on hand to calm him and he was smiling again after a chat with his partner.

DONALD FEARS WILLIAMS WILL QUIT TAKE THAT TOUR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

TAKE THAT star HOWARD DONALD is concerned the British boyband’s comeback tour could be wrecked by ROBBIE WILLIAMS - he fears the reformed wildman will quit on the eve of their opening show.
The Back for Good hitmakers announced on Tuesday (26Oct10) they are to play a series of gigs in the U.K. and Europe next year (11) with a full line-up for the first time in 15 years after Williams agreed to rejoin his former bandmates.
Donald admits he and his fellow singers Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Jason Orange found it strange working with the Angels star again after so long.
And he is concerned Williams’ notoriously erratic personality will emerge and destroy their hotly-anticipated tour.
Donald tells Q magazine, "You know, we don’t 100 per cent know Robbie. Or I don’t. There’s a chance that, all of a sudden, two weeks before the tour he might say he doesn’t want to do it. I don’t think that’ll happen with how easy going he seems now, but if it did he wouldn’t be doing himself any favours."

STARR’S CHILDHOOD HOME BOARDED UP TO PREVENT VANDALISM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

The suburban home where RINGO STARR was born was boarded up on Tuesday (26Oct10) in a bid to stop BEATLES fans stealing pieces of the property.
The house on Madryn Street in Liverpool, England has been regularly raided by souvenir-hunters, who have been taking bricks from around the windows since officials announced plans to demolish the property.
Devotees launched the Save Madryn Street Society in a bid to keep the property intact - as it is the only address in the city connected to a member of the Fab Four which does not have protected status.
Following a spate of vandalism reports, city officials have now installed metal shutters to preserve the building.
It is not yet known whether plans to demolish Starr’s former home will go ahead.

PRISON OFFICER SUSPENDED OVER LIL WAYNE VISIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:21 pm

A prison guard overseeing LIL WAYNE’s stint behind bars has been suspended over allegations he made an unscheduled 45-minute visit to the rapper’s cell.
The hip-hop star is currently incarcerated at New York’s Rikers Island jail, where he’s serving out an eight-month sentence on illegal weapons charges.
He was recently caught using banned music equipment and banished to solitary confinement.
A Department of Correction captain at the jail has now been suspended after allegedly breaching the terms of Lil Wayne’s punishment by spending 45 minutes chatting to the star in his cell, even though he is supposed to be kept in isolation.
Captain Raphael Collazzo is said to have been caught on camera making the unscheduled visit, according to the New York Daily News.
Patrick Ferraiuolo, president of the union for Department of Correction captains, is adamant Collazzo didn’t break any rules.
He says, "I spoke to the captain and I said, ‘Do you know what’s going on?’ He goes: ‘I have done nothing wrong… I don’t have any dealings with this guy.’" Correction officer Amelia Negron was fired from her job at the jail earlier this year (10) after allegedly wandering into the unit where the star is being held without proper authorisation.

AKON SCRAPS AUSTRALIAN CONCERT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:21 pm

R&B star AKON has been banned from performing at a gig in Melbourne, Australia after his 2009 concert in the city was marred by violence.
The singer was due to play at the Summerbeatz festival at Rod Laver Arena on 25 November (10), but bosses at the venue have forbidden the star from going ahead with the show following last year’s (09) gig brawl.
Akon was performing at Melbourne’s HiSense Arena as part of his co-headlining show with T-Pain last October (09) when rival gangs began fighting, prompting Akon to halt the event.
At least 18 people received medical treatment, including two security guards, while nine were taken to hospital following the riots.
And Akon has now been forced to miss Melbourne out of his Australian tour, which kicks off next month (Nov10).
The star’s music promoter Dwayne Cross says in a statement, "Akon will not be performing in Melbourne on the Summerbeatz 2010 Tour. This is due to restrictions put on us by the Melbourne venue Rod Laver Arena. We have toured Akon in Australia many times before and we are extremely disappointed that Melbourne misses out on seeing such an amazing and popular performer, however, this situation is completely out of our hands." The Melbourne show will go ahead with Ciara, Jay Sean, Travis McCoy and Soulja Boy among the stars headlining.

GOSLING ‘DISAPPOINTED’ BY FINISHED FILMS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 pm

RYAN GOSLING "hates" watching his movies on the big screen - because he’s convinced directors rarely capture the most exciting moments of the filming process.
The actor has made a name for himself with dramatic roles in films such as The Notebook and Half Nelson, but admits he is often let down by the finished product after investing so much energy and emotion into his scenes.
He tells Interview magazine, "As an actor you have no control over the final product. It’s hard because you’re so involved in the pre-production process and the filming process, but as soon as that’s over, you’re not really a part of it anymore. The thing gets cut up, music gets put on, and you’re not involved… I hate it (seeing myself onscreen).
"There’s no way that a film can capture in two hours the experience of making it, so it’s always disappointing in some way. The thing that’s so exciting when you’re making a film is that it can be anything and there are no limitations on it. So I do have to remind myself that most people watching the film weren’t involved in making it, so they don’t really know what’s missing."

THE HOBBIT TO STAY IN NEW ZEALAND

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 pm

Producers behind THE HOBBIT movie have decided to keep the project in New Zealand following two days of talks with the country’s politicians.
All three Lord of the Rings films were shot there and the upcoming prequel was due to follow, but a dispute with union officials threw the production into jeopardy after they instigated a boycott over local performers’ rights.
Bosses vowed to find another location for The Hobbit shoot and refused to back down even after the industrial action was halted, claiming the fall out had soured relations with the unions.
Executives from the studios behind the two-part blockbuster, Warner Bros and New Line, flew into New Zealand this week (beg25Oct10) for talks with politicians, who were determined to keep the production in the country.
And after two days of meetings, Prime Minister John Key has confirmed The Hobbit will be shot in New Zealand after all.
He says, "I am delighted we have achieved this result. Making the two Hobbit movies here will not only safeguard work for thousands of New Zealanders, but it will also follow the success of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy in once again promoting New Zealand on the world stage." As part of the deal, the government offered movie bosses a tax break and promised to introduce new legislation to distinguish between employees and independent contractors working in the film production business.
Key adds, "We will be moving to ensure that New Zealand law in this area is settled to give film producers like Warner Bros the confidence they need to produce their movies in this country. It’s good to have the uncertainty over, and to have everyone now full steam ahead on this project." The announcement comes after a series of demonstrations across the country which saw supporters take to the streets to voice their support for The Hobbit and its New Zealand location.
The film, starring Martin Freeman, is set to begin shooting in February (11).

WHITE ‘DIDN’T START CATFIGHT’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 pm

A representative for JESSICA WHITE has insisted the supermodel "was not the instigator" of a "catfight" which led to her arrest on a misdemeanour assault charge at the weekend (23-24Oct10).
The catwalk beauty was detained by police in New York in the early hours of Saturday morning (23Oct10) after an alleged altercation with a 28-year-old woman over a taxi.
White is accused of pulling Vanessa Kian’s hair and striking her in the face as the disagreement turned ugly.
A lawyer for the star, Mark Jay Heller, has now spoken out about the incident, insisting White didn’t start the alleged brawl.
He tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "The Sports Illustrated supermodels that I represent, such as Rachel Hunter and Jessica White, are all good sports and super people, not the type of women that get into catfights.
"Stories concerning celebrities frequently get blown up, and I’m confident that when the air is released from this blown-up story that has obviously been overinflated, all that will be left will be hot air with no substance…
"From what I understand, (White) was not the instigator." White, 26, was charged with misdemeanour assault and is due in court on 15 December (10).

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:39 am

JANET JACKSON has opened up about her early body image issues, revealing she was just 11 when she was told her breasts were "too big" for her role on GOOD TIMES.
The singer/actress has battled low self-esteem throughout her career and she admits her struggles began when she was still a child star on the 1970s sitcom.
She recalls, "I was actually doing Good Times, and on our first day of shooting they bound my chest because they thought my breasts were too big. I got the part when I was 10, we started shooting when I was 11 - I was developing early. It made me feel that the way that I am, it’s not good enough." Jackson is now taking measures to ensure she’s fit and healthy and has documented her problems with food in her new self-help book, True You.
She adds, "That’s why I decided to call (the book) True You… Everyone wanted to know about the weight loss, the weight gain - how do I do it. It’s just talking about my routine, my workout regimen, my nutrition. I wanted to talk about it."

RICHARDS WROTE SONG WITH MCCARTNEY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:36 am

KEITH RICHARDS nearly ended the rock rivalry between THE ROLLING STONES and THE BEATLES when he wrote a song with SIR PAUL McCARTNEY.
The legendary bands were often pitted against each other in the 1960s but their relationship was friendly, with the Beatles allowing the Stones to record their song I Wanna Be Your Man.
Now Richards has revealed he nearly bridged the two groups after running into McCartney on a beach.
In his autobiography, Life, Richards writes: "We were really pleased to see each other. We fell straight in, talking about the past, talking about songwriting. We talked about such strangely simple things as the difference between the Beatles and Stones, and that the Beatles were a vocal band because they could all sing the lead vocal, and we were more of a musicians’ band - we had only one frontman.
"He told me that because he was left-handed, he and John could play the guitars like mirrors opposite each other, watching each other’s hands. So we started playing like that. We even started composing a song together, a McCartney/Richards number whose lyrics were pinned to the wall for many weeks."
