NEIL CANCELS SHOWS OVER TORNADO CHAOS
MOTLEY CRUE frontman VINCE NEIL was forced to cancel a performance at a car race competition in Texas on Saturday (23Oct10) after two tornados struck the venue and forced a mass evacuation.
The rocker was due to play a show at the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) world finals in Ennis, Texas, but the racetrack was lashed by storms and organisers decided to cancel the event over safety fears.
More than 30,000 fans were evacuated from the Texas Motorplex racetrack as the tornados hit.
The promoter of Neil’s concert, Gabe Reed, says, "We did everything possible to make the concert happen but in the end mother nature had other plans. In the consideration of the safety of the fans, Vince, the ADRL and I mutually agreed that the best decision was to call the concert off."
