BIG BAND TACKLES HEAVY METAL COVERS ON QUIRKY NEW ALBUM
Finnish rocker JARKKO AHOLA has teamed up with the OULU ALL-STAR BIG BAND to record an album of heavy metal covers with a twist.
The Northern Kings star’s Big Band Goes Heavy features jazzy versions of classic songs from Dio, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Uriah Heep.
Ahola says, "There are no effects, no super polishing - just the band and the vocals." Among the rock classics given the big band treatment: Dio’s Stand Up And Shout; Show Must Go On by Queen; Black Sabbath’s Heaven And Hell, and Deep Purple’s Burn
