JOHN LENNON’s son JULIAN is hoping to step out of his famous father’s sha dow by forging a new career in photography.
The 47-year-old rocker has released five albums throughout his career a nd is expected to return to the charts next year (11), but Lennon has rec ently been focusing on an artistic sideline project and opened an exhibit ion of his pictures in New York last week (beg13Sep10).
And the star hopes his new venture will finally help him prove his tale nts without any comparisons to the late Beatles legend.
He says, "My dad wasn’t really a photographer so it just allows me to b reathe a little more. He used to take a couple of Polaroids, but it wasn’ t a potential career. This is my own thing."

ADAM LAMBERT has dismissed allegations he grappled with a photographer du ring a scuffle in Florida on Thursday (16Sep10) - calling the incident "h armless".
The American Idol star became angry with a paparazzo during an outing t o a Miami beach with friends, and was reported to have wrestled the man t o the ground.
Lambert fuelled rumours of a physical altercation by mentioning the inc ident in a post on his Twitter.com page, telling fans, "I lost my temper for a sec (second) but wow it felt great…" But the singer has returned to the microblogging site to clear up rumou rs the dispute became physical.
He writes, "Battery? Nope. I attempted to grab a camera, no punches wer e thrown and no one was on the ground… It was literally harmless. If em barrassment is a crime - that’s all I’m guilty of."

LADY GAGA is stepping up her campaign against the U.S. military’s controv ersial ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy - she’s set to speak at a protest r ally on Monday (20Sep10).
The Poker Face hitmaker has been vocal about her opposition to the rule - which bans homosexual service personnel from revealing their sexuality - in recent interviews, and has even written about it on her Twitter.com page.
Now she is expected to join a protest march in Portland, Maine on Monda y, organised by the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network.
The event will call on Republican Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Coll insto to vote to repeal the policy.
Taking to her Twitter.com page on Sunday (19Sep10), Gaga writes, "Meet me in Portland, Maine 2moro (sic), 9/20 to help repeal DADT (Don’t ask, d on’t tell). I’m holding a rally + speaking live in Deering Oaks Park." In a viral video aimed at policymakers on Friday (17Sep10), she added, "Ultimately, the law is being enforced using gay profiling… In short, n ot only is the law unconstitutional, but it’s not even being properly enf orced by the government… We are not asking you to agree with or approve the moral implications of homosexuality; we’re asking you to do your job , to protect the constitution."

MICHAEL JACKSON’s death is set to spark a clean-up of Hollywood - campaig ners are calling for tighter laws on the use of the powerful drug that ki lled him.
The Thriller star died in June last year (09) from a cardiac arrest aft er receiving a dose of the anaesthetic Propofol.
Now activists in California have launched a bid to overhaul legislation and restrict the use of the drug, according to TMZ.com.
A group of campaigners, who have all reportedly lost loved ones to Prop ofol, are calling for "Michael’s Law" and are handing out leaflets in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, California urging residents to join their bid "to prevent doctors from making careless choices, and stop them from adm inistrating drugs that should not be administered outside of the hospital setting."

Singer/songwriter BRUNO MARS has been arrested in Las Vegas on suspicion of drug possession.
The Just The Way You Are star was allegedly caught with narcotics after he was confronted by security guards in a bathroom at the Hard Rock Hote l in the early hours of Sunday morning (19Sep10).
Police were called and Mars was detained on suspicion of drug possessio n, according to the Las Vegas Journal Review.
The star - real name Peter Hernandez - is believed to have been release d later that day. It is not yet known whether he will face charges over t he incident.

DANIEL RADCLIFFE is reportedly working with a grief psychologist to prepa re for his upcoming role in THE WOMAN IN BLACK.
The Harry Potter star plays lawyer Arthur Kipps in the big screen adapt ion of Susan Hill’s scary novel, which is set to hit theatres next year ( 11).
The young actor is determined to bring extra realism to the part and ha s signed up to see a psychologist to help him understand his character’s emotional situation, according to Britain’s The Sun.

Cancer survivor JENNIFER SAUNDERS is helping other victims of the deadly disease by throwing her support behind a charity campaign.
The Absolutely Fabulous star was diagnosed with breast cancer last Octo ber (09), but remained silent about her struggle until she was given the all-clear by doctors in June (10).
The British funnywoman, 52, has now come out in support of Wallace Canc er Care, an organisation which provides free services to patients and the ir families, and Saunders turned out on Saturday (18Sep10) to fire the st arting pistol for the charity’s Chariots of Fire fundraising race in Camb ridge, England.
Saunders says, "I am very happy to be able to support Wallace Cancer Ca re. Having undergone treatment for breast cancer myself, I understand how important it is to have the kind of support and help Wallace Cancer Care provides."

ROBIN WILLIAMS has opened up about his new relationship, revealing he wou ld consider walking down the aisle with his girlfriend in the future.
The comedian, 59, split from his second wife, Marsha, in 2008 after 19 years of marriage.
He met graphic designer Susan Schneider shortly before he underwent hea rt surgery in March, 2009 and she helped nurse the star back to health.
Williams admits he’s taking their relationship slowly - but he’s not av erse to making Schneider his wife one day.
He tells Britain’s Guardian newspaper, "We’re taking it slow. I don’t k now, maybe some day we’ll marry, but there’s no rush.

Representatives for OPRAH WINFREY have issued a warning over a scheme all egedly seeking to entice thousands of dollars out of companies with the p romise of an official endorsement from the media mogul.
The TV titan features an annual product list on the Oprah Winfrey Show called Oprah’s Favorite Things, which points viewers towards potential Ch ristmas gifts, and it has become known for boosting sales of items which are featured.
A new company called New Products Events has allegedly been offering cl ients the chance to attend an event where they will be able to talk to pr oducers at Winfrey’s Harpo productions company about how to be included o n the list for a fee of $5,000 (=C2=A33,333).
But Winfrey’s reps are adamant the scheme is not official. A spokespers on tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "No one at Harpo has sanct ioned such an event or is involved in it."

Shamed British boxing champion RICKY HATTON has apologised to fans in his first TV interview since he was embroiled in a drugs scandal - insisting "sorry is not a big enough word".
The sports star hit headlines earlier this month (Sep10) when photograp hs of him snorting cocaine in a hotel room were published by U.K. tabloid the News of the World.
The former WBA Welterweight Champion, who checked into rehab last Monda y (13Sep10), has given his first TV interview to Britain’s Daybreak show and admitted he began "dabbling" in drugs following a series of "humiliat ing" defeats, including his infamous knockout during a bout with Filipino fighter Manny Pacquiao last year (09).
He says, "I couldn’t show my face for months and months on end. I was s uffering really, really badly so even though I always used to have a drin k, I started drinking a little bit more, and along with the depression…
things got on top of me and slowly just went from bad to worse and it en ded up resulting in dabbling in other silly things…
"I’ve upset my fans, my family, everybody that has been with me from da y one. Sorry is not a big enough word for what I want to say to them… I ‘ve been in such a low place, such a bad place I couldn’t tell you. Half the time I could not tell you if it was cocaine." But Hatton, who is reportedly facing a police interview once he finishe s rehab, is adamant he never used illegal drugs before he retired from bo xing, adding, ""No. Never, never."

Former supermodel STEPHANIE SEYMOUR and her estranged husband PETER BRANT have slammed the media mogul’s alleged mistress for speaking out about t he couple’s divorce - branding her account "shameless" and "full of untru ths".

Actor STEVE BISLEY has been ordered to carry out 300 hours of community s ervice for assaulting his ex-wife.
The Mad Max star was arrested after a bust-up with Sally Burleigh in Ba lmain, Sydney in September last year (09). Burleigh told cops he slammed her head into a wall during a heated argument.
Bisley denied one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and o ne of common assault, insisting he acted in self-defence, but he was foun d guilty earlier this month (Sep10).
Magistrate Jane Culver sentenced the actor to 300 hours of community se rvice at a hearing at Sydney’s Central Local Court on Monday (20Sep10), a ccording to the Australian Associated Press.
The court heard the case is already affecting Bisley’s career - he has lost work on three TV shows since the charges were brought, including an appearance on Celebrity MasterChef.

THE KING’S SPEECH has been tipped as an early Oscar favourite after it wa s crowned the top movie at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The picture, starring Colin Firth as Queen Elizabeth II’s father, King George VI, was honoured with The People’s Choice Award at the Canadian ev ent on Sunday (19Sep10).
Previous recipients of the honour include American Beauty and Slumdog M illionaire - which both went on to win the coveted Best Picture prize at the Academy Awards.

Rapper TINIE TEMPAH almost missed his big moment at Britain’s Urban Music Awards on Saturday night (18Sep10) after turning up more than an hour la te for the London ceremony.

And after attending the awareness project, she took to her Twitter.com page to tell her followers to avoid pet shops when looking to take in a n ew family animal.
In a series of posts, she writes, "It’s puppy mill awareness day and I just got back from the incredible event at La Brea Tar Pits. No more pupp y mills!! "Puppy mills are awful, filthy, cruel places where dogs never see dayli ght, sleep in their own feces, and r (are) bred over n (and) over for pet stores. Boycott pet stores people!!!!"
