SCOTT WEILAND connected with fans at a STONE TEMPLE PILOTS gig in Texas o n Sunday night (19Sep10) by giving an emotional speech about his drug add iction and marriage breakdown.
The singer has struggled with substance abuse over the last few years a nd battled heroin addiction before finally getting sober.
Weiland is adamant he’s now clean and while onstage with his band at th e Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlands, Texas, he told fans how h e had been affected by his past problems, as well as his painful split fr om his second wife, Mary Forsberg, in 2007.
The former Velvet Revolver star also insists he is determined to "take care" of himself for the sake of the band.
He told the crowd, "I believe in music, I believe in rock ‘n roll, I be lieve in friendship and family. But you know what, on the 8th December wi ll be time (sic) when I stopped doing dope… I started drinking again. I got divorced, my wife… And my whole world basically spun around and so you know what, I’m gonna take care of myself (now) because that’s what I need to take care of… Instead of just having a few shows, I wanna have a whole hell of a lot of shows."

BRUNO MARS was apprehended by police in Las Vegas over the weekend (18-19 Sep10) after a sharp-eyed bathroom attendant spotted the singer/songwrite r in a cubicle with a bag of white powder.
The Just The Way You Are star was detained on suspicion of drug possess ion at the Hard Rock Hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning (19Sep10) ..
A bathroom attendant raised the alarm and called police and security to the spot after noticing the star had "been taking a really long time" in the stall, according to the official police report, obtained by TMZ.com.
The statement from the arresting officer alleges the singer pulled a "w hite powder substance" from his jeans pocket and later admitted he "did a foolish thing and has never used drugs before".
The report claims the mystery substance tested positive for cocaine.

SPANDAU BALLET star MARTIN KEMP has confirmed his pal GEORGE MICHAEL is " doing okay" and coping "as well as you can expect" in prison as he serves out his eight-week sentence.
The former Wham! star has been behind bars since last week (14Sep10) wh en he was jailed for possession of cannabis and driving under the influen ce of drugs following a car crash in north London in July (10).
But despite Michael’s recent troubles, Kemp has defended the singer, in sisting the star is a good man and a "wonderful" friend.

British actor BOB HOSKINS once suffered an embarrassing snub at the hands of the paparazzi when photographers waiting for his neighbour NOEL GALLA GHER refused to take his picture.
The Long Good Friday star lived near the Oasis guitarist in north Londo n during the height of the band’s fame in the 1990s, and often saw a hord e of snappers waiting in the street.
On one occasion Hoskins was recognised by the photographers - but they ignored him because pictures of the actor are not newsworthy enough to ma ke money.
And he insists he was delighted with the reaction, as it means he can g et on with his life without suffering the glare of the spotlight.
Hoskins tells Britain’s Observer newspaper, "I was living in the same s treet as one of the boys from Oasis. Photographers were standing on the c orner, waiting for them.
"I came out of my house, started walking up the road. This young guy co mes up to me, but an older photographer shouts at him: ‘Oi! Where are you going? That’s Bob Hoskins - he’s about as newsworthy as last week’s bus ticket!’. That made me quite happy."

NICOLAS CAGE has infuriated the residents of a historic English town by p romoting his new movie THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE at the reputed resting p lace of KING ARTHUR.

Katherine Gorbing, director of Glastonbury Abbey, says, "We continue to take great care when considering activities… to ensure the abbey’s spi ritual significance, its Christian heritage and rich history and traditio ns are respected." During the live link-up, Cage was filmed standing next to a spot believ ed to be Arthur’s grave, telling viewers the site is a "very magical and sacred" place.
And Gorbing is adamant the Hollywood star, who has a home near the town , "took great care to honour the dignity and spiritual sanctity of the ab bey".
She adds, "We wish everyone involved in activities at the abbey was as respectful."

RANDY and EVI QUAID are fighting back against allegations they have been squatting in a house they call their home - insisting they have fallen vi ctim to an elaborate fraud.
The Quaids were arrested at the house in Santa Barbara, California on S aturday (18Sep10) and face charges of felony residential burglary and a m isdemeanour of entering a non-commercial building without consent after o fficials received a complaint.
The couple told cops they had owned the estate since the 1990s, but off icers had been handed documentation said to prove the current owner had b ought the home from another buyer in 2007, who had reportedly purchased t he house from the Quaids years earlier.
The pair has since been released on bail after posting $50,000 (=C2=A33 3,330) each.
Brokeback Mountain star Quaid has now vowed to fight for the property, because he insists the couple has been targeted in a scam, reports TMZ.co m.
Quaid alleges fraudsters forged the signature of a dead woman called Ro nda Quaid on a legal document in 1992, wrongfully transferring the owners hip of the property to a third party.
He claims he can prove the allegation, telling the website, "If you don ‘t stick up for what’s yours, and defend what’s yours … what are you?"

Another email allegedly sent by Gibson in March (10), tells of his pers onal woes and his attempts to rebuild the romance.
It reads, "I am beginning to actually see, how screwed up I have been..
.. I love you. I want to be here for you and for Lucy… I was terrified o f where we were going and my outbursts and the potential for damage…" A later email adds, "I really am losing my grip. I desperately need a s olution. I’m sorry it has to affect you. I can’t stand anything any more.
I’m full of s**t and need to shovel some out… I try to be ok but it ov erpowers me… The pain is too great and everywhere I turn is making it h eavier… I’m a f**king failure." A response, said to be from Grigorieva , reads, "All I want is for u (s ic) to be happy. To have no guilt, to smile again. With me or without me, that ever (sic) works for you. U r (sic) an incredible person. One of th e kind (sic). U (sic) deserve happiness, u (sic) deserve love. Please don ‘t torcher (sic) yourself like that, please! U (sic) didn’t do anything t o be so hard on yourself."

Officials at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have reac ted with fury after 50 CENT posted a picture on Twitter.com showing him h olding a knife to a small dog.
The In Da Club hitmaker uploaded the controversial shot to his page on the microblogging site on Monday (20Sep10) and PETA’s Michelle Cho was qu ick to slam the star for the photo.

British singer JAMIE CULLUM took to the stage at London’s legendary Ronni e Scott’s jazz club on Monday night (20Sep10) for a tribute concert to ho nour late drummer CHRIS DAGLEY.
The musician died in July (10) when he lost control of his motorbike an d crashed on a highway in White City, London.
Dagley, who previously played with Lionel Richie and British boyband Ta ke That, was a rising star on the jazz scene in the U.K. capital and perf ormed as part of the house band at the iconic venue.
And on Monday night (20Sep10), the stars turned out to celebrate Dagley ’s life.
Cullum, along with other musicians including Natalie Williams, Carleen Anderson, James Pearson and Rick Astley, played at the club, with ticket proceeds going towards the Chris Dagley memorial fund, according to the v enue’s website.
