Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:27 am

Internet reports suggesting DAVID BOWIE’s longtime collaborator MICK RONS ON was celebrity DJs MARK and SAMANTHA RONSON’s dad got so out of hand ev en the late guitarist’s wife believed they were true.
The siblings’ stepfather is Foreigner star Mick Jones, but many music w riters incorrectly linked them to Ronson - and the ‘fact’ stuck in many e arly reviews and articles.
Mark Ronson tells Spin magazine, "It was, like, the first Internet rumo ur that went wrong. It got picked up by everyone and just got written as if it were a fact.
"It got to the point where Mick Ronson’s widow called my mum and was li ke, ‘Did you have illegitimate children by my deceased husband?’" And the DJ admits there are still mix-ups over his parentage: "People a re always like, ‘So your dad’s Mick Ronson…?’ And I’m like, ‘No, he’s M ick Jones.’ And they’re like, ‘… from The Clash?’ "I should just wear a Foreigner T-shirt all the time."

THOMAS OFFERS DEMI HER SUPPORT AMID TABLOID TALE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:18 am

DEMI MOORE’s LOL co-star MARLO THOMAS has urged the actress to stand stro ng amid reports her marriage to ASHTON KUTCHER is in trouble - because sh e would cry herself to sleep over the tabloid reports about her own union to TV king PHIL DONAHUE.
Thomas and Donahue have been married for 30 years - but few fans though t the romance would last that long when the U.S. weeklies started running stories about the couple, just a year after the wedding.
And the actress insists Moore and Kutcher can learn a lot from her expe riences.
She tells BlogTalkRadio.com, "I don’t ever believe anything. I can’t te ll you how many divorce rumours there have been about my marriage. When I was married a year all these stories were in the tabloids about how Phil and I were getting a divorce and how we’d seen lawyers.
"I had a quote from my father that said, ‘It wouldn’t last a year.’ I w as heartbroken and I cried and I carried on. My father (Danny Thomas) sai d to me, ‘On the page across from your divorce story is a woman who gave birth to a whale. Now, do you believe the whale story?’ I said no and he said, ‘Well, neither does anybody else and nobody is gonna believe this e ither.’ "He said, ‘Your marriage will outlive them. Somebody else will get marr ied who’s famous and they’ll move off of you,’ and they did.
"So they’ll (Moore and Kutcher) have to have this garbage about them an d it’ll pass. Nobody believes that anybody is happy. I don’t know why but there’s some kind of delight in thinking that nobody’s happy." Kutcher and Moore are currently fighting tabloid allegations he cheated on his wife while she was on location filming. The actor has fiercely de nied the reports.

PHOENIX APOLOGISES TO LETTERMAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:17 am

JOAQUIN PHOENIX publicly apologised to U.S. talkshow host DAVID LETTERMAN on Wednesday (22Sep10) when he returned to America’s LATE SHOW and revea led all about his odd antics on the programme last year (09).
The Walk The Line star appeared dishevelled and uncomfortable as he att empted to promote what he claimed would be his final film, Two Lovers, on the show in 2009.
He evoked the presenter’s wrath by refusing to remove his sunglasses fo r the studio interview and chewing gum as he spoke.
Phoenix’s brother-in-law, director Casey Affleck, has since admitted th e appearance was part of an elaborate "social experiment" stunt he had be en filming for his new documentary I’m Still Here, about the actor’s spoo f efforts to become a rapper.
The Oscar winner returned to Letterman’s sofa on Wednesday, suited up a nd clean-shaven, and offered his sincere apologies for making a mockery o f the host during his worrying 2009 interview.
He told Letterman, "Thank you for having me on the show last time.
"We wanted to make this film. It was both our ideas. We wanted to do a film that explored celebrity between the media and the consumers and the celebrities themselves, and we wanted something that would feel really au thentic." Phoenix confessed he’d come up with the idea for the documentary after watching a slew of reality shows - because he was baffled as to how viewe rs could be so easily manipulated into thinking the TV stars were not jus t acting.
He confirmed Letterman had no idea the previous interview had been a ho ax and insisted there had been no script, following allegations the prese nter had been in on the joke the whole time.
Phoenix said, "You’ve interviewed many, many people and I assumed you’d know the difference between a character and a real person but I apologis e, I hope I didn’t offend you in any way.
"We’d hoped to come on a talkshow and I was looking for a beatdown, and I got one. Thank you for that." The Hollywood star admitted he was stunned by how easily everyone was f ooled - because some of his actions were so outrageous, Phoenix and Affle ck were convinced people would see through the whole "experiment".
He continued, "To be frank, we didn’t really know how the media or the public was going to respond. I mean, when I first announced that I was re tiring - which in itself, I thought was a joke, you know a 35 year old wh o says he’s retiring from acting - but I didn’t know that anyone would ca re and frankly I assumed they wouldn’t, but it kind of snowballed and bec ame this big thing and then I came on the show here and that got a lot of attention." At the end of his bizarre 2009 interview, Phoenix was filmed taking off his sunglasses and shaking Letterman’s hand - and the actor reveals remo ving his disguise for the brief encounter landed him in trouble with Affl eck: "I got in a lot of trouble for that with Casey. But I was eager to t hank you for the opportunity." But Phoenix insists he would do it all again - because the experience r esulted in a very unique film.
He added, "Yeah, 100 per cent. I don’t regret it at all. The experience was incredible. I wanted to make a film in a different way and… the ex perience was very gratifying."

MCKAGAN TO REJOIN VELVET REVOLVER?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:52 am

JANE’S ADDICTION guitarist DAVE NAVARRO has hinted one-time bandmate DUFF MCKAGAN’s departure is linked to a VELVET REVOLVER rebirth.
The bassist quit the band at the beginning of September (10) after just five months and three shows, and Navarro insists his band’s loss is the gain of Slash’s supergroup, which has been on hiatus since Scott Weiland was sacked as frontman in 2008.
The group, also featuring McKagan’s Guns N’ Roses bandmate Matt Sorum, spent the summer of 2008 auditioning new singers but failed to find Weila nd’s replacement, prompting the bass player and Slash to seek out other p rojects - McKagan formed Loaded before signing on to replace Eric Avery i n the reunited Jane’s Addiction and Slash recorded a solo album.
But Navarro insists Velvet Revolver could be about to make a comeback.
He tells Los Angeles radio station KROQ-FM, "Duff was with us for a lit tle while. We wrote some songs with him, did a handful of shows… It was great; he’s an amazing writer and an amazing player.
"At the end of the day, I think his band, Velvet Revolver, is trying to get their thing back together and they’re auditioning singers (again)." And the guitarist assures fans the departure of two bass players in six months won’t mean the end of Jane’s Addiction: "As far as a bass player, we don’t really have anybody right now in mind. The three of us - Perry (Farrell), Stephen (Perkins) and myself - are writing and hashing out the songs."
