NICK JONAS is teaming up with America’s First Lady MICHELLE OBAMA to encourage kids to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The Jonas Brothers musician has signed up to help spearhead the Disney Magic of Healthy Living initiative, which will also be championed by other Disney stars as well as President Barack Obama’s wife.
The scheme aims to help families improve their diet and take more exercise.
A statement from Obama reads, "I am thrilled to join Disney’s Magic of Healthy Living effort and support the work these young people are doing to reach out to their peers and communicate this powerful message. I hope through programs like the Magic of Healthy Living, young people are inspired to take control of their own health, fitness and nutrition and engage their families, schools and communities to do the same."

BLOC PARTY and ASH guitarist RUSSELL LISSACK was hospitalised during a recent trip to South Africa after he was bitten by a lion.
The British musician, who is playing with Ash while Bloc Party are on hiatus, was in the country with his new bandmates earlier this month (Sep10) for a series of shows.
They took a break from work to visit a local animal sanctuary, but Lissack was left needing urgent medical attention after a lion cub sank its teeth into his hand.
The rocker was admitted to hospital where doctors treated the wound and gave him a tetanus shot, according to Spinner.com.

ROGER WATERS’ fiancee has come to the rocker’s defence after the PINK FLOYD legend’s The Wall Live tour came under fire from an American campaign group.
The head of the Anti-Defamation League has criticised the veteran musician for his use of images including the Jewish Star of David and the U.S. dollar sign which are projected above the stage during the shows.
Organisation director Abe Foxman claims Waters is using the imagery to comment on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and insists it could be seen as anti-Semitic.
Foxman says, "While he insists that his intent was to criticise Israel’s West Bank security fence, the use of such imagery… could easily be misunderstood as a comment about Jews and money. We wish Waters had chosen some other way to convey his political views without playing into and dredging up the worst age old anti-Semitic stereotype about Jews and their supposed obsession with making money." But Waters’ partner Laurie Durning is adamant the star did not mean to offend anyone with the backdrop. She tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "Since this tour started on Sept. 15, we’ve had dozens and dozens of reviews and over 120,000 audience members and I’ve never heard anyone interpret the show in the way this guy Foxman has - and of course it’s most definitely because he hasn’t actually seen it.
"This show is unapologetically anti-war, and we would really like to put a quick end to any possible rumours of it being in any way negative towards any group of people. It absolutely does not call up any ‘anti-Semitic stereotypes.’"

LADY GAGA surprised fans in New York City on Wednesday night (29Sep10) by appearing on stage at a bar in Manhattan.
The singer enjoyed an evening out at The Oak Room bar inside the city’s famous Plaza Hotel and treated fellow guests to a short set.
Gaga’s appearance was kept secret until shortly before the show when it was announced on the venue’s Twitter.com page.
The Poker Face hitmaker turned heads by arriving wearing little more than fishnet nights and a hairy waistcoat to cover her modesty.
The performance marks Gaga’s first public outing since the death of her grandfather last week (22Sep10) and his funeral on Monday (27Sep10).

Sickly singer MORRISSEY is at the centre of another health riddle after mysteriously axing a promotional tour of the U.K.
The former The Smiths frontman was due to undertake a series of TV and radio interviews in his native Britain this week (begs27Sep10) to promote the re-release of his classic 1990 album Bona Drag.
But on Wednesday (29Sep10) it emerged the singer has cancelled all his planned appearances and left the country.
His huge world tour last year (09) was marred with numerous cancellations and postponed gigs as Morrissey battled a recurring mystery illness - and fans now fear he is unwell again.
A spokesman for the star had not responded to a request for comment as WENN went to press.

The stuntman who was paralysed during the filming of the latest HARRY POTTER movie is determined to put his health problems behind him to attend the picture’s premiere in November (10).
Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double David Holmes was hospitalised last year (09) with a serious back injury after falling from a harness at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, England, where he was practising flying scenes for the two-part Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
He was devastated when medics told him he would probably never walk again and the franchise’s cast threw a celebrity auction to raise funds to cover his expensive medical bills.
But despite his condition, Holmes regularly returned to the set and is positive he will be able to appear at the red carpet event when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 launches later this year (10).
Producer David Heyman tells Britain’s Total Film magazine, "He was trying out a form of wire pull which we’ve done hundreds of times before and it went wrong.
"It’s terrible on many fronts, but David is amazing - he remains, in spite of his situation, so positive and determined. And he may find his way back into the industry in some form. He loves Harry Potter, he still visits the sets and he wants to come to the premiere. He’ll be part of our family forever."

KANYE WEST has become the latest victim of an online leak - his new song LOST IN THE WORLD has popped up on the Internet.
The track samples Bon Iver’s Woods and features Gil Scott-Heron.
The leak comes the same day West took to his Twitter.com account to tell fans his new album, which features the song, is finished.

DAVID HASSELHOFF has paid tribute to comedian GREG GIRALDO, who died on Wednesday (29Sep10).
The comic was taken to a hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on Saturday (25Sep10) after suffering an alleged accidental drugs overdose and passed away four days later.
Now Hasselhoff, who appeared alongside Giraldo in a Comedy Central Roast in August (10), is leading tributes to the funnyman, In a post on his Twitter.com page, Hasselhoff writes, "Greg Giraldo was a fantastic gentleman with a great heart! And I am deeply saddened by this news!" Ghost Whisperer actor Jamie Kennedy also offered his condolences, writing on Twitter, "Greg Giraldo. The world has lost a brilliant mind. MEL GIBSON’s ex-girlfriend OKSANA GRIGORIEVA is to reveal all about the former couple’s romance, bitter break-up and custody battle in a candid chat with talk show queen OPRAH WINFREY, according to reports.

PARIS HILTON and her boyfriend CY WAITS were caught up in a traffic accident in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (29Sep10) after the car they were travelling in allegedly clipped a photographer.
The couple enjoyed dinner at the Boa Steakhouse in West Hollywood with friends and family, but the evening soured after they left the restaurant and their car reportedly ran over the foot of a waiting snapper.
An ambulance was called to the scene and medics tended to the injured female photographer, who was later transported to hospital for treatment. No more information was available as WENN went to press.

The judge presiding over the ANNA NICOLE SMITH drug conspiracy trial has dismissed two charges against the late star’s companion and lawyer HOWARD K. STERN.
Stern and doctors Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich stand accused of providing excessive medication to the model/actress, who died from a prescription drug overdose in a Florida hotel room in 2007.
On Wednesday (29Sep10) Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert J. Perry threw out two counts of obtaining drugs by fraud and deceit against Stern, ruling there isn’t sufficient evidence.
The judge allowed the majority of the 11-count complaint to go ahead. All three defendants have pleaded not guilty to the remaining charges.
The jury will return to court on Monday (04Oct10).

Supermodel HEIDI KLUM came up with the idea to get naked for her husband SEAL’s steamy new video - because she thought it would be a lovely gift to the couple’s daughter LENI.
The soul star wrote Secret about his romance with Klum and his relationship with their daughter, and the model was so taken by the tune she suggested the accompanying video should feature the loved-up couple naked and in bed together.
Seal says, "It was her idea to tell you the honest truth. It wouldn’t have been something that I would have asked her to do instinctively but she loved the song and of course the song is the story of us and how we met… and our daughter.
"She said, ‘Why don’t we just do something that we can be proud of, something that celebrates our love, something that Leni will have when she’s older, and I figured, ‘You know what, why not?’" Seal asked photographer friend Nabil Elderkin to shoot the promo and asked his manager to help make sure the steamy shoot was on lockdown from prying eyes.
He adds, "We had to clear everyone out of the studio and he (my manager) walked around with the battery for the camera… and we’re really close, but not that close. He had to turn his back while Nabil and the lighting guy were filming. It was quite an interesting experience."

Former BOND star SIR ROGER MOORE choked back tears as he paid tribute to his close pal, Hollywood legend TONY CURTIS, on Thursday (30Sep10).
The veteran actor passed away at his home in Las Vegas on Wednesday (29Sep10) after suffering a cardiac arrest.
And within minutes of the announcement, Moore spoke out about his friend, who he worked with on 1970s British TV show The Persuaders! Sounding emotional and close to tears, Moore told Sky News, "I’m shocked. I knew Tony had not been well but I never think that friends are going… I’m very sad, and for Jill his wife who adored him.
"We had a lot of laughs together (filming The Persuaders!) for about 15 months, working together every day… He was really fun to work with. He had a great sense of humour and wonderful ad-libs. LINDSAY LOHAN’s estranged father is officially seeking legal conservatorship over his daughter, according to a U.S. report.
Earlier this year (10) Michael Lohan announced plans to ask a judge to allow him to take over his daughter’s financial and business affairs, but he halted the bid in an effort to solve his daughter’s problems away from the court room.
But now Lohan is making moves to create a conservatorship for the Mean Girls actress again, just a day after she entered rehab for the second time in a month.
On Wednesday (29Sep10) Michael met up with lawyer David Chon, who specialises in trusts and estates, and he is planning to file conservatorship papers with him "within days", reports TMZ.com.
The website states Lohan isn’t expecting to become conservator himself, but he reportedly has two other people he wants to be considered.
He is requesting that the star’s mother Dina Lohan and Lindsay’s business manager Lou Taylor are cut off from looking after his daughter’s affairs, because "they’re in it for themselves".
Sources claim Michael Lohan has been impressed by the way Britney Spears’ father Jamie has helped his wayward daughter turn her life around thanks to a conservatorship deal - and he thinks he can do the same for the actress.

HARRISON FORD is to be honoured with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in California later this year (10).

KYLIE MINOGUE wishes her sister DANNII and her nemesis SHARON OSBOURNE would end their war of words - because she finds the publicly-played feud "boring".
