SORKIN SHOWERS OFF WRITER’S BLOCK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:12 pm

THE WEST WING creator AARON SORKIN has a bizarre method to writing his Emmy-winning scripts - he showers up to eight times a day to keep himself "energised" in between drafts.
The screenwriter, producer and playwright - who also turned Tom Cruise’s A Few Good Men from a stage play to a movie classic - strips down and scrubs his skin clean whenever he has writer’s block.
And he’s convinced his obsession with personal hygiene is key to his success.
He explains, "I’m very clean. I take six our eight showers a day because it’s a writing thing. They re-energise me if I get off to a bad start.
"We don’t have typewriters anymore, you don’t have the satisfaction of ripping the paper out of the typewriter and throwing it in the garbage, so I take a shower and I put on different clothes and I get a do-over."
