SIGUR ROS DISMAYED OVER ADS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

Rockers SIGUR ROS are counting the cost of refusing to allow their songs to feature in TV commercials - they’re convinced advertising bosses use t unes inspired by their tracks instead.
The Icelandic band has made a point of shunning offers to earn extra ro yalties as they don’t want their music to be used to promote products on TV.
But they’ve recently realised many ads contain songs similar to their o wn style - and they suspect the tracks were inadvertently inspired by the ir records.
In a post on their official website - accompanied by links to some of t he songs - the Hoppipolla hitmakers write, "We’re not suggesting anyone’s ripping anyone off here, or has purposely gone out to plagiarise Sigur R os music, because that might get us sued (which would be ironic)… What we wanted to do here was post (a) series of ads that have made us go ‘hmm m’ and let you decide who’s zooming who?"
