RONSON FEARS REPERCUSSIONS OVER TRUMPETS AXE
Superproducer MARK RONSON fears he will be shunned by trumpet players - b ecause he’s vowed to "move on" from using brass instruments on his record s.
The musician shot to fame in 2007 following the release of his second a lbum, Version, on which he covered famous songs, many of them featuring a prominent brass section.
He also notably added trumpets to his recording of Amy Winehouse’s take on The Zutons track, Valerie.
But Ronson has moved away from his signature sound on new album Record Collection, and has even been pictured destroying a trumpet - and he’s no w worried he’ll incur the wrath of brass players.
He tells ShortList magazine, "People are smart and their tastes change.
I’ve got no personal vendetta against the trumpet. But I’ve been picture d in a magazine smashing one up recently, so there may be a lot of trumpe t players I’ve worked with that want to beat me up. I just think it’s goo d and healthy to move on."
