STEWART SUED OVER ‘UNPAID’ SUITS
ROD STEWART is facing a lawsuit over allegations he failed to pay for cus tom-made clothes he ordered for his 2007 wedding to PENNY LANCASTER.
Designer Karen Matthews claims in a suit filed at Los Angeles Small Cla ims Court that the Maggie May rocker ordered $7,500 (=C2=A35,000)-worth o f outfits for a string of bashes in 2007 - including his Italian nuptials ..
She accuses the singer of failing to pay up for the items, writing in c ourt papers, "The clothes were never paid for in full and (Stewart) kept the rest of the clothes without ever returning what hadn’t been paid for.
" However, Stewart’s representative has slammed the lawsuit, insisting th e clothes were poorly made and "unusable" - and the star was forced to se arch for a new wedding outfit shortly before the big day.
The spokesperson tells TMZ.com, "(The wedding suit) wasn’t produced on time and was ill-fitting and totally unusable. He had to buy a proper sui t at the last minute." According to the website, the lawsuit will be heard in court in Novembe r (10).
