BOYLE’S THE GIFT IS ALREADY A BIG HIT
SUSAN BOYLE is set to repeat her end-of-2009 album success this year (10) - the Scottish singer’s new album has shot to the top of Amazon.com’s Be stsellers chart more than a month before its release.
The Gift won’t be released until 9 November (10) but the talent show se nsations is already assured of another big hit - fans are already despera te to pre-order the album.
Amazon’s director of music Craig Pape tells Billboard.com, "It’s the se ason of Susan and it’s a pretty significantly number one. The Gift has le apfrogged fourth-quarter efforts by Taylor Swift, Eric Clapton and Neil Y oung on the bestsellers tally, with only pre-orders of Bob Dylan’s The Wi tmark Demos coming close to Boyle’s sales." Boyle’s 2009 debut I Dreamed a Dream broke records as Amazon Music’s la rgest CD pre-order ever.
The new album will feature festive favourites O Holy Night and The Firs t Noel, as well as performances of Lou Reed’s Perfect Day - the song she was banned from performing recently on a U.S. TV talent show. (KL/WNWCBB/
