EARLE CANCELS TOUR, ENTERS REHAB
STEVE EARLE’s troubled country rocker son JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE has cancell ed his current tour and checked into rehab following his arrest last week (16Sep10).
The singer/songwriter spent last Thursday night (12Sep10) in an Indiana polis, Indiana jail cell after allegedly trashing his dressing room after a concert at the city’s Radio Radio club.
Venue bosses pressed charges for assault and battery, but Earle dismiss ed the allegations, insisting, "Reports surfacing online about the incide nt in Indianapolis are not accurate. I have been advised by counsel that I should not comment on a pending criminal matter, but suffice to say tha t I am looking forward to having my day in court." Earle is now back in the headlines a week later - his management team h as announced he’s axed all upcoming gigs and checked into a treatment cen tre to address his "struggle with addiction".
A statement on the star’s website reads, "Justin Townes Earle has decid ed to suspend the remaining dates on his tour and enter a rehabilitation facility.
"Earle is strongly committed to confronting his ongoing struggle with a ddiction and thanks his family, friends and fans for their continued supp ort through this difficult time."
