WILLIAMS DISMISSES OLD DOGS BACKLASH
ROBIN WILLIAMS has brushed off criticism of last year’s (09) flop film OL D DOGS, insisting he only made the kids’ movie because it "paid the bills ".
The funnyman teamed up with John Travolta for the family-friendly pictu re, but it was panned by critics and only took in $96 million (=C2=A364 m illion) at the worldwide box office.
However, Williams refuses to be downbeat about the movie’s negative rev iews - because he only signed up for the fat pay cheque.
He tells Britain’s Guardian newspaper, "I’ve had a lot of people tell m e they watched Old Dogs with their kids and had a good time.
"It paid the bills. Sometimes you have to make movies to make money. Yo u know what you’re getting into, totally. You know they’re going to be go ofy. And that’s okay." (CL/WNBGU/LR) ————————————————————————-
