Rock ‘n’ roll icon JERRY LEE LEWIS is to come face to face with himself w hen he performs with the stars of hit Broadway show MILLION DOLLAR QUARTE T in New York.
The Breathless hitmaker will join the show’s Jerry Lee, Levi Kreis, on 10 September (10).
Kreis, who won a Tony Award for his portrayal of Lewis, recently record ed Money for the rock ‘n’ roll star’s upcoming album Mean Old Man.
Million Dollar Quartet conjures up what might have happened during a 19 56 jam session and Sun Recording studio when Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Per kins and Elvis Presley teamed up.

Hip-hop star SHAWTY LO has changed the name of his record label D4L to di stance himself from snap rap music - because he wants to be taken more se riously.
The Atlanta, Georgia-based MC founded D4L Records with rappers Fabo, St untman and Mook B. in 2003, and formed hip-hop group D4L.
The Laffy Taffy hitmakers became part of the snap music trend in 2006 - a dance-centric subgenre of hip-hop - but Lo refuses to embrace the move ment and is fighting off the stigma by rebranding the label to be taken m ore seriously as an artist and executive.
He tells MTV News, "That’s my brand, that’s where I started from. But I ‘m officially switching my label to 2610: BHF. ‘BHF’ meaning Bowens Home (housing project) family. 2610 is (the address) where we started from, D4 L.
"I just want a fresh look. I feel like I got a whole new movement. And I feel the D4L got a curse on it. People think it’s the dancing, the snap (music). I just wanna get a whole new look… I want a whole new look on everything I got going."

British electronica supergroup THE ORB have recruited reclusive former PI NK FLOYD star DAVID GILMOUR to guest on their upcoming 10th album, METALL IC SPHERE.
The album, which is set for release in October (10), has been partly re corded in 3D60, which allows fans to experience tracks in three-dimension al sound.
Some proceeds from sales of the album will benefit the campaign against the extradition of Gary McKinnon, the Scottish computer whizz accused of hacking into U.S. Defense Department computers.

The SOUNDGARDEN reunion could not have come at a better time for bassist BEN SHEPHERD - the rocker has confessed he’s broke and "technically homel ess".
In an interview with Spin magazine, Shepherd admits he has been sleepin g at friends’ homes after breaking up with his girlfriend.
He tells the publication, "I’ve been sleeping on studio couches and at friends’ houses. I’m totally broke." But Shepherd, 41, admits his current predicament is nothing compared to the low he experienced when Soundgarden split in the late 1990s.
He recalls, "My whole life seemed over. Soundgarden broke up; my other band, Hater, broke up; my fiancee broke up with me, and then I broke thre e ribs.
"I got addicted to pain pills, drank a ton, and wound up OD’ing on morp hine. I was laid out in my house for five days, and no one knew it. It wa s a f**king horrible time."

SWIZZ BEATZ’s ex-wife MASHONDA is willing to put her past differences wit h his pregnant new spouse ALICIA KEYS firmly in the past so all of the pr oducer’s children can grow up "in unity".
The Fancy beatmaker split from Mashonda, the father of her three-year-o ld son Kasseem, Jr., in 2008 and filed for divorce last year (09).
Subsequent reports alleged Beatz had already moved on to date the Empir e State of Mind hitmaker, prompting an enraged Mashonda to accuse Keys of wrecking her marriage.
But she was in for another shock after learning Beatz had fathered anot her child with a Russian woman living in London. The baby girl was born t o Jahna Sebastian in May 2008 and Beatz was proved to be the dad in Augus t 2009.
He is expecting his fourth child, his first with Keys, this autumn (10) - and Mashonda insists she is open to having her son meet all of his sib lings, despite her troubled past with Keys.
She tells Hip-Hop Weekly, "I hope that my son can have a relationship w ith his sister in Europe and I hope all the children involved will grow t ogether in unity. That is very important to me." Beatz is also dad to another son from a previous relationship, Prince N asir, who was born in 2000.
The producer wed Keys in France late last month (Jul10).

Late SLIPKNOT star PAUL GRAY’s wife BRENNA has given birth to the tragic rocker’s daughter.
Little October Dedrick Gray - the couple’s first child - was born on Tu esday (17Aug10).
Brenna joined her husband’s bandmates and family members to pay tribute to the bass player at the end of May (10) - the day after Gray’s body wa s found in a hotel room in Des Moines, Iowa.
A coroner ruled the 38 year old died of an accidental morphine overdose ..

Actress MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL mastered her British accent in new movie NANNY MCPHEE RETURNS by mimicking the voice of director SUSANNA WHITE.
The Crazy Heart star is a native New Yorker and admits she drew inspira tion for her character’s voice from the filmmaker, choosing to converse w ith other crew members on set in her fake accent to perfect the role.

AVATAR moviemaker JAMES CAMERON is fighting for a new era at the cinema w hen all films are released in 3D.
The forward-thinking director insists all films would be better if movi e fans were given special glasses upon entering cinemas - and he doesn’t think it will be too long before studios no longer advertise 3D movies, b ecause they’ll be commonplace.
He tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "I’m talking about a future whe n you don’t have to put 3D on the the movie poster anymore, the same way that you don’t put ‘in colour’ on posters anymore.
"Imagine that point in time, when 3D is just a natural, innate part of viewing." And, asked if he thought ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow’s 2010 Oscar winning f ilm The Hurt Locker would look better in 3D, Cameron tells the magazine, "Absolutely."

WESLEY SNIPES is hoping his lawyers can keep him out of jail for at least another four months after signing up to star in new action movie HAVANA HEAT.
The Blade actor lost an appeal against his three-year jail term last mo nth (Jul10) after a 2008 trial found him guilty of three misdemeanour cou nts of wilful failure to file his income tax returns.
Prosecutors have urged the judge overseeing the case to revoke Snipes’ bail and send him to prison immediately to begin his sentence.
The star’s legal team hit back by filing a motion asking permission to question jurors involved in his trial to find out whether they had pre-de termined his guilt before the case was heard in court.
The motion claims Snipes’ attorney Daniel Meachum received an email fro m an unnamed juror alleging three others on the panel had presumed Snipe’ s guilt, which would constitute a breach of his right to a fair trial.
Havana Heat, which also stars Joey Lawrence, is set start shooting in N ovember (10).

Tragic actress BRITTANY MURPHY’s mum has fired back at reports she slept with her daughter’s widower following the death of the star in December ( 09), insisting the very suggestion she had sex with her late son-in-law i s "journalism at its lowest".
Sharon Murphy is upset by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s report on Si mon Monjack’s death, which suggests she told police officers at the scene that she shared a bed with the producer/writer.
According to the documents, obtained by TMZ.com, an investigator walked through Monjack’s bedroom with a woman believed to be Murphy, who identi fied one side of Simon’s bed as "her side of the bed." A statement from Murphy reads, "I am very disturbed that the L.A. Coron ers office continues to release things to the media that are misleading.
"The TMZ story with it’s (sic) salacious headline suggesting that my pr escious (sic) son-in-law Simon and I slept in bed together, infering (sic ) sexual contact is journalism at its lowest."

LIV TYLER, CHER and JENNIFER ANISTON have been caught up in a beauty salo n boss’ get-rich-quick credit card scheme, according to new reports.
The trio, as well as stars like Anne Hathaway and Melanie Griffith, hav e been named in an affidavit obtained by TMZ.com following an investigati on by U.S. Secret Service officials.
The lawmakers accuse Maria Gabriella Perez, the owner of Beverly Hills salon Chez Gabriela Studio, of overcharging her famous clients and then s tealing their credit card information.
According the the documents, the accused swindled $214,000 (=C2=A3142,6 00) from Tyler alone.
Perez was arrested on federal fraud charges on Wednesday (18Aug10).

Country music singer KENNY CHESNEY appears to have moved on from his roma nce with girlfriend AMY COLLEY after he was photographed getting close to another woman during a romantic beach getaway.
Chesney confessed his relationship with the Tennessee nurse was in trou ble in a recent interview, revealing he and Colley had been "on-again, of f-again" for some time.

Drummer JASON BONHAM will ‘duet’ with his late father when he takes his L ED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE on the road this autumn (10).
Bonham, who filled in for his dad John when Led Zep reunited for one ni ght only in 2007, recently announced plans to tour North America with the rock supergroup’s back catalogue - and now he has revealed he’ll be perf orming with his father at shows.
He reveals, "You’ll see old movies of me as a child with dad, playing t he drums… and dad and I are going to play Moby Dick together.
"We’re creating it from the two main video and audio choices we have, w hich are the 1970 Royal Albert Hall show and The Song Remains the Same mo vie. It’s going to be a challenge, making sure everything runs smoothly i n sync. I’ll also play with him on When the Levee Breaks.
"That’s one of the hardest songs to replicate, so, rather than fight it , I thought, ‘Come on dad, let’s play this one together.’ We’re editing f ootage of him playing and cutting it so that he’s looking at me. I’m real ly looking forward to that."

Rockers COLDPLAY have landed a money-spinning deal with Universal Music P ublishing.
British newspaper The Sun reports the new deal is worth millions to eac h member of the band.
Paul Connolly, the president of Universal, tells the newspaper, "They’v e sold more than 50 million albums worldwide and their huge success is en tirely deserved. We’re obviously very proud." Coldplay originally signed to BMG Music Publishing in 1999. Sony BMG we re then taken over by Universal.

AEROSMITH star STEVEN TYLER has signed on to replace SIMON COWELL on TV t alent show AMERICAN IDOL, according to new reports.
The rocker’s name has been linked to the programme for weeks but Tyler recently revealed he hadn’t signed an official contract, insisting the wh ole idea was just "a work in progress".
But now The Hollywood Reporter’s Livefeed blog reports the Love in an E levator singer has filled out the paperwork.
TV bosses at Fox aren’t commenting.
If the story is true, Idol producers appear to have agreed to hand over a large sum of cash to their new judge - Tyler recently said show bosses would have to "lay out the bread" to sign him up for the show’s 10th sea son.
Cowell quit the show in May (10) and was followed out the door by one-s eason judge Ellen DeGeneres. Jennifer Lopez was in talks to replace the c omedienne but reports suggest negotiations have stalled.
Shania Twain remains a favourite to join Tyler and Randy Jackson on the panel. It is not known if fourth judge Kara DioGuardi will return for th e new season of Idol.

Actor KEVIN SPACEY is in talks to chill U.S. TV audiences as the star of a new series based on a charismatic cult leader.
Network executives at HBO have confirmed they are closing a deal to cre ate drama series The Crux, pitched by Spacey and director/writer Rod Luri e last spring (09).
The show will chronicle the life of the leader of a high-profile cult a nd Spacey is in talks to star, reports industry publication Variety.
