Former model JANICE DICKINSON begged pal FRANK RYAN to replace his unsafe jeep in the days leading up to the celebrity plastic surgeon’s death on Monday (16Aug10).
Ryan lost control of the vehicle on his way back from a hike with his d og and drove over a cliff in Malibu, California, and now Dickinson, who a ttended a candlelit vigil for her pal earlier this week (begs16Aug10), ha s revealed she knew he’d be killed if he didn’t change his mode of transp ort.
She tells Access Hollywood, "I’m angry that he drove that Jeep Wrangler , which has a high suspension, on windy roads on the PCH (Pacific Coast H ighway).
"I had told him to get rid of that car because you need a more stable c ar." Dickinson sobbed on the TV show as she was shown photos of the crash si te and the picture of his dog which Ryan was reportedly sending to his Tw itter.com page when he lost control of his car.
She added, "This is the picture that should keep us off the cellphones.

LINDSAY LOHAN is using her time in rehab to sort out her finances - the a ctress has settled a lawsuit with a posh Los Angeles boutique over an unp aid bill.
The Mean Girls star was served with papers from Church Boutique outside a L.A. courthouse last month (Jul10) - minutes before she learned she’d be serving time behind bars for violating probation from a 2007 DUI arres t.
In the suit, it was alleged she had failed to settle a $17, 060 (=C2=A3 11,374) bill for clothing, jewellery and accessories.
But Lohan is cleaning up her act while in court-ordered rehab in more w ays than one - she has signed a cheque for the full amount, plus extras, to pay for the goods, according to TMZ.com.
The website reports the boutique has now agreed to drop the suit.
The star is currently in a UCLA treatment centre following her 13 days in prison. She was ordered to stay in rehab for 90 days, but professional s in charge of her treatment are pushing for an early release - and she c ould be free next week (begs23Aug10).

A movie spoof of the TWILIGHT franchise has become a big hit at the U.S. box office - VAMPIRES SUCK debuted at the top of the midweek box office l ist, ahead of THE EXPENDABLES and JULIA ROBERTS’ EAT PRAY LOVE.
The movie, which features Jenn Proske and Matt Lanter as Becca Crane an d Edward Sullen, has shot to the top of the film charts, scoring more tha n $4 million (=C2=A32.6 million) from first-day receipts on Wednesday (18 Aug10).
The film will compete with new releases Lottery Ticket, The Switch, Pir anha 3D and the Nanny McPhee sequel, which all launch on Friday (20Aug10) ..

RICKY MARTIN is set to get even more candid about his private life after revealing he’s gay - the Latino pop hunk is penning a memoir.
The Livin’ La Vida Loca singer’s Me will hit bookstore shelves at the b eginning of November (10).
The book will be released simultaneously in English and Spanish.
A statement about the tome reads, "In Me, Ricky will cover his early ch ildhood, his experiences in the renowned boy band Menudo, the challenges of increased fame that came with the Livin’ La Vida Loca phenomenon, his continued growth as a musician and his unique personal connection with mi llions of fans around the world.
"Martin also explores life-changing decisions like coming to terms with his sexuality, becoming a father, and devoting himself to helping childr en around the world." The book will kickstart a busy period for Martin - he’s planning a come back album in 2011 and will hit the Broadway stage as Che in the revival of Evita in spring 2012.

Former AMERICAN IDOL favourite CHIKEZIE EZE has been sentenced to three y ears probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanour identity theft.
Eze, a finalist on the seventh season of the hit TV talent show, was ar rested and charged with felony I.D. theft in February (10) after allegedl y using a fake credit card to buy two bottles of cologne at Beverly Hills department store Neiman Marcus.
According to TMZ.com, the singer recently struck a deal with prosecutor s and pleaded no contest.
He will also be required to perform 45 days of community labour and has been ordered to stay away from the store under the terms of the deal. (J

PHISH’s reunion show at New York’s Jones Beach theatre on Wednesday night (18Aug10) was marred by the hospitalisation of a fan who fell from a bal cony at the venue.
The unidentified man plummeted 25 feet (7.62 meters) to the floor of th e theatre during the band’s set.
Eyewitnesses claim the shirtless fan fell headfirst over a railing.
He suffered head trauma and has been listed in critical condition at Na ssau University Medical Center. No one else was injured.

KINGS OF LEON have turned down the chance to showcase their hits on hit T V series GLEE.
Frontman Caleb Followill reveals the band often turns down lucrative of fers to feature their music on TV - they also turned down the producers o f TV series Ugly Betty.
Followill tells NME.com he has never seen the popular show, but adds, " Apparently everybody loves it." And he insists he and his bandmates are tough sells when it comes to pr oducers, directors and even stars using their material: "We had some peop le call us up wanting to know if we’d allow Use Somebody to appear in the trailer for their next movie, and we turned them down.
"Next day, they called back and tried to put us through to the star of the movie - I won’t name names, but he’s an incredibly famous actor - to let him try to convince us to agree to do it. I was like, ‘Man, don’t eve n waste your energy.’"

We estimate that there are probably in excess of five million peopl e in the country with intellectual disabilities, and when you think about all of them, their family members and friends, you’re talking about tens of millions of people who find the use of that term to be really offensi ve."

Singer RICHARD LOPEZ has lost his battle with lung cancer. He was 65.
Lopez, an original member of vocal group Cannibal & the Headhunters, di ed on 30 July (10) at a hospital in Garden Grove, California.
Lopez formed the band with three fellow high school students when he wa s a teenager in the 1960s, and together the group went on to open for The Beatles when the Fab Four toured America in 1965.
The band’s hits included 1965’s Land of 1,000 Dances.
Lopez, also known as Frankie ‘Cannibal’ Garcia, quit before the band br oke up in 1967. A reunion tour was staged in 1996.
