Pop star KYLIE MINOGUE thrilled villagers in a tiny English village on Th ursday (19Aug10) after staging an acoustic gig in a local pub.
Executives at Minogue’s record company Parlophone organised a staff vis it to Compton Martin in Somerset, England, and asked the Australian singe r to make an appearance at the Ring O’ Bells traditional bar.
Locals were also invited to watch as Minogue sang her hits All the Love rs and I Should Be So Lucky, dancing in a small alcove and hopping onto a bar stool.
A member of staff tells British newspaper The Sun, "It was surreal havi ng Kylie play in a normal little pub - one of the strangest gigs I’ve eve r been to." She was joined by her British labelmates, singer Eliza Doolittle and ra pper Tinie Tempah, who also performed.
Tempah says, "Kylie was brilliant. She gave me lots of advice and longe vity tips."

Rocker TED NUGENT has revealed he tried to ween guitar great JIMI HENDRIX off drugs in the months before he died in 1970.
The Cat Scratch Fever star experienced the extent of his hero’s drug in take during a jam session with the tragic star backstage at a concert - w hen he was offered all manner of narcotics.
But he didn’t want to ruin the moment, so he declined - and went on to become a drug-free rocker after seeing so many greats become "drooling an d puking" dead men.
He says, "I saw how they got to the drooling, puking and dying thing an d I went, ‘I think I’ll avoid the drooling puking and dying s**t’.

LISA MARIE PRESLEY is demanding staff at her new English estate sign stri ct privacy contracts - and has already fired two employees for refusing t o do so, according to a U.K. report.
Elvis Presley’s daughter drew up the confidentiality agreement to preve nt ‘leaks’ about her private life after she hit the headlines in Britain following her move into the town of Tunbridge Wells, Kent, on Tuesday (17 Aug10).
The six-page document bans staff and their relatives from discussing de tails of the building, furnishings, and decor, including photos or mement os related to Presley’s relatives.
And Presley is determined to retain her privacy - she immediately dismi ssed two cleaners who asked to first take legal advice.
A source tells Britain’s The Sun, "It was like they were being asked to sign the Official Secrets Act. It was way over the top and they felt it was a total infringement of their human rights.
"Staff could not speak to their husbands, wives or even their grandchil dren about what they did." Newlywed country star CARRIE UNDERWOOD has revealed she used to suffer pa nic attacks in crowded shopping malls and elevators.
The Jesus Take The Wheel singer, who recently revealed she likes to sho p for groceries in empty supermarkets at midnight, admits she used to hav e a big problem with personal space when she was a teenager growing up in Checotah, Oklahoma.
"She tells WebMD the Magazine, "I’m a big personal space person. You kn ow, if you go to the restroom, you use the stall that’s not near anybody.
Or if you’re in the gym, you go to the treadmill where there’s space in between you. And it seemed like in crowded situations like that, people w ould just completely violate your personal space." She tells the publication that Christmas shopping was "my worst nightma re" and reveals she still has moments when crowded elevators make her sta rt sweating - like one that took place just a day before her interview.
She explains, "Every floor we stopped on, we’d cram more people in, and by the time we were done, there was just a ton of people.
"So I start thinking about all the bad things that can happen, and I’m like, ‘I’ve got to get off the elevator, I need to get off the elevator.’ I was just like, ‘No more stops, please, no more stops!’"

CHARLES HADDON, the frontman of acclaimed British band OU EST LE SWIMMING POOL, has committed suicide.
Dutch website Parool.nl reports the singer/songwriter took his own life after performing at Belgium’s Pukkelpop festival on Friday (20Aug10).
He reportedly killed himself by climbing to the top of a satellite mast in a backstage parking area and jumping off.
The tragedy has been confirmed by festival organisers, who staged a pre ss conference late on Friday (20Aug10).
It’s the second tragedy of the event - The Call’s Michael Been suffered a heart attack backstage at Pukkelpop and died on Thursday (19Aug10).
Haddon was in the middle of a European festival tour with his London-ba sed trio.

THE CALL frontman MICHAEL BEEN has died after suffering a heart attack ba ckstage at the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium.
The 60-year-old rocker was at the event as a sound engineer for his son Robert’s band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. He worked as the group’s soun d engineer.
Been collapsed on Thursday (19Aug10) and was taken to the Salvator Hosp ital in Hassalt, where he was pronounced dead.
As a member of The Call, Been enjoyed chart success with the hits The W alls Came Down and Let The Day Begin and toured with Peter Gabriel in 198 2.
He also tasted acting success when he landed the role of the Apostle Jo hn in Martin Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ.

Folk rockers SWELL SEASON’s Thursday night (19Aug10) concert in Saratoga, California ended in tragedy when a concertgoer jumped to his death durin g the show.
Oscar winners Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova - the stars of hit film Once - and hundreds of their fans were left horrified as the unnamed man took his own life by diving from the roof of the venue to the stage below during the Mountain Winery concert.
Hansard had just finished performing a song and was talking to the crow d when the man jumped, falling three stories through lighting rigs.
The Irish singer/songwriter promptly halted the show and walked over to the man on the stage while medics attempted to revive him.
A statement from Hansard and his band reads, "The band, crew and all in volved with them are shocked and saddened by the unfortunate events of la st night. Their hearts go out to the victim and his friends and family." Local reports suggest the unidentified fan agreed to accompany a friend to the show but left his seat after the first song. The incident is bein g treated as an apparent suicide

MICHAEL J. FOX is returning to the small screen - he has signed on for a cameo role on JULIANNA MARGULIES’ U.S. legal drama THE GOOD WIFE.
The veteran actor, who is battling Parkinson’s disease, will appear as Simon Canning, a "shrewd and cynical" lawyer who tackles Margulies’ chara cter in a class action lawsuit, CBS network executives revealed on Friday (20Aug10).
A statement from executive producers and creators of the show, Robert a nd Michelle King, reads, "We’re absolutely thrilled that Michael has agre ed to play this role. His intelligence as an actor, combined with his inc redible comic timing will really bring this smart, cynical lawyer to life .." Fox’s last TV stint came last year (09) when he played a drug-abusing p araplegic on Denis Leary’s hit drama series Rescue Me.
He told USA Today at the time: "It’s a measure of how screwed up they a re that they would hire me to play a paralyzed guy. I’m the opposite of a paralyzed guy. One of the reasons I don’t act that much now is that my f irst job is to act like I’m not dealing with the things I’m dealing with.
