OHIO PLAYERS SOUL MAN UPSET ABOUT STANDARDS TODAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:18 am

Veteran soul man JAMES ‘DIAMOND’ WILLIAMS has taken aim at today’s young artists for ignoring decency and singing all about sex.
The Ohio Players star, famous for his risque sex-charged songs and racy album covers, insists the Love Rollercoaster and Sweet Sticky Thing hitm akers left a lot to the imagination - because their songs would be rightl y banned from radio if they went to far.
But nowadays, he’s shocked when he hears teenage hitmakers singing and rapping about sex.
He tells WENN, "I do not approve and I think, as these artists grow up and come of age, that they’ll have a lot to look back on and say, ‘I wish I had said this differently’.
"The industry and society have allowed these artists to say things such as they say today and be so blatant in their expressions.
"When we were in the studio and our music was in the charts, there was a certain line that was drawn; you couldn’t say certain things. It wasn’t really hip to get bleeped on the radio… The chances were you ain’t gon na get played. The line has been dropped.
"This is not right for our kids. I’ve been at festivals where certain m usic was being played and I look at these kids singing the words to these songs and there’s, like, four or five-year-old kids saying, ‘Let me lick you up and down,’ and ‘Let me do whatever!’ It doesn’t look right coming out of their mouths. This is crazy.
"At least we left it to your imagination what Sweet Sticky Thing is. Th e phrase could mean anything to you."

LADD TAKES ON MITCHELL CASE AFTER GHOSTLY VISIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:12 am

Actress DIANE LADD has spent years and a small fortune on a campaign to f ind out the truth about apparent government whistle blower MARTHA MITCHEL L after the ghost of the former U.S. Attorney General’s wife appeared to her minutes after she died in 1976.
The actress mother of Jurassic Park star Laura Dern had just visited th e Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. - one of the key locations in the b urglary scandal that brought Richard Nixon’s administration down - during the run of her Lu Ann Hampton Laverty Oberlander play at the nearby Kenn edy Center, when she first encountered Mitchell’s spirit.
She recalls, "It was Memorial Day weekend and I was in the apartment…
It was exactly 4.45 in the morning and I was dead asleep. I felt someone shake my left arm. I was terrified.
"As I sat up, there was a gold vision… (and) I could see a person wit hin the gold vision." The spectre disappeared as Mitchell got out of bed, convinced there was an intruder in the house.
Then she was haunted by whispering voices throughout her performance on stage that night.
She adds, "The third act comes and I’m now on this huge stage alone… and just as I’m about to speak I feel someone walk up beside me and there ’s nobody there. I’m so thrown because I feel somebody’s there… but I c an’t see anybody there.
"There’s 1500 people there, waiting for me to speak my lines, so I take a breath and before I can speak, someone else speaks. She says, ‘Chose y ou… Must… Martha…’ Then silence, and everybody out there’s waiting for me to speak so I had to go on with the play.
"I didn’t deal with it and the very next morning I had to do a televisi on show… The show went great and at the end of the show, for some reaso n, I say (to the host Maury Povich), ‘Maury, do you know anybody named Ma rtha?’ He said, ‘Oh my God, oh my God, you’re the one. You’ll tell the tr uth’.
"I said, ‘Who’s story?’ ‘Martha Mitchell’. I said, ‘Martha Mitchell, At torney John Mitchell’s wife, the crazy old alcoholic?’ (Povich said), ‘Sh e’s the one who brought them all down. She’s the one who did it.’ "I’m going, ‘Alright, Maury, OK, I’ll meet her.’ (He said), ‘You can’t meet her; she died… yesterday morning at 4.30am.’" The whole experience made Ladd compelled to find out more about Mitchel l - and she told the whole story for a recent taping of U.S. TV show Cele brity Ghost Stories, insisting Mitchell was held captive by government of ficials after she threatened to go to the press with what she knew about the Watergate Scandal.
She adds, "Martha Mitchell was Watergate and she had something to tell us that hasn’t been told. All the congressmen and representatives mocked her, called her a dirty, crazy alcoholic, called her insane, but she was a truth teller.
"Martha Mitchell, you were a great lady and I know you went through liv ing hell, you were held down, you were kidnapped, you were given a shot a gainst your will. That should not happen in my country."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:51 am

He tells Hustler magazine, "We won a Grammy and we had two number one r ecords. We were making a lot of loot (money). Then some people within the group of four brothers started seeing things differently… and their ac tions made the reactions of others pretty unbrotherly-like.
"Ten years ago these four motherf**kers were getting paid nothing while travelling in a ten-seat RV for seven months, following Slayer around.
"Flash forward: We are now in a situation where we are making so much m oney a show that I can’t even say. We’re being flown around, catered to a nd being treated like royalty.
"All of a sudden band members are having problems financially… (and) fighting about, ‘I want my style of music to be this and that.’ "I love them. He’s hoping to contest the ruling, arguing that his role as a roving am bassador for the Caribbean state exempts him from the residency rule.

CASSEL CALLED ON MEDICAL HELP TO LOSE WEIGHT FOR GANGSTER ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:48 am

French movie star VINCENT CASSEL had to call on doctors to help him lose weight safely for his role in new film MESRINE as he struggled to keep th e pounds from plummeting.
The Ocean’s Eleven and Eastern Promises villain piled on 40 pounds (18.
1 kilograms) to play infamous French gangster Jacques Mesrine in the film and then had to lose all the weight to play the thug as a young man.
Wiry Cassel called in experts when his efforts to shed the pounds becam e a little too easy.
He says, "I was helped by my doctors. For the first time in my life, I had bad cholesterol. I was freaking out, but by the time I finished the m ovie, the weight was gone and so was the bad cholesterol.
"I actually had a problem keeping the weight on. I had an assistant com ing with this huge milkshake every day. When we completed the first (part of the) movie, I actually started to lose weight too fast and I had to s tay on a certain kind of diet." Cassel’s efforts have already been rewarded in his native France - he p icked up a Cesar award for his portrayal of Mesrine.
The film was a labour of love for the actor - he spent seven years tryi ng to find the perfect director and raise the $50 million (=C2=A333.3 mil lion) required to make the gritty four-hour epic.
But the wait cost him the chance to appear onscreen with his real-life father - Jean-Pierre Cassel died before the film started, so the Derailed star turned to family friend Michel Duchaussoy to play his character’s d ying dad.
Cassel admits the scene in which Mesrine bids his father farewell was p acked with emotion.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "The day we shot the scene it was terri ble. There was a tension on the set. We shot that really fast, maybe thre e takes. Then I shook his hand and said, ‘Ciao’."
