Mexican actress FERNANDA ROMERO and her American husband KENT ROSS are du e to stand trial this week (beg23Aug10) accused of marrying for immigrati on purposes - and they both face five years in prison if convicted.
Officials pounced on the pair after Drag Me to Hell star Romero’s ex-bo yfriend exposed the alleged scam marriage to U.S. authorities, reports th e New York Post.
Klinko, a Swiss photographer who starred in reality TV show Double Expo sure, claims he dated Romero in 2007 while she was married to Ross.
The snapper is now expected to be the star witness in the pair’s immigr ation fraud trial, which begins in Los Angeles on Tuesday (24Aug10).
The prosecution, bolstered by Klinko’s testimony, will argue that Ross and Romero have never lived together and have continued to date other peo ple since their 2005 nuptials.
They claim the groom was paid a $5,000 (=C2=A33,333) dowry to help his actress bride stay in the United States after the pair was introduced by fashion mogul Michael Ball.
The defence team will claim Klinko fabricated his story after Romero sp urned him. Papers already filed accuse the photographer of becoming "obse ssed with a young woman half his age, who, when spurned as her lover, was driven by spite and revenge to destroy her life, her career and her repu tation." The defendants, both 28, face up to five years behind bars if found gui lty.

Real estate tycoon-turned-reality TV star DONALD TRUMP has told troubled LINDSAY LOHAN she’ll have to be 100 per cent healthy before he’ll conside r her as a contestant on his CELEBRITY APPRENTICE show.
The businessman, who fronts the programme, reveals Lohan’s people have been in touch about landing the actress a spot on the next season of the show now she’s out of jail and almost clear of court-ordered rehab follow ing a probation violation.
And Trump admits he’ll consider the idea if he deems Lohan well enough to compete.
He tells U.S. news show Extra, "We haven’t made a decision. We just wan t her to be 100 per cent, get better and be strong."

Funnyman MARTIN SHORT is in mourning following the death of his wife.
Nancy Dolman died on Saturday (21Aug10) at the couple’s home in Pacific Palisades, California according to RadarOnline.com.
The cause of death has not been released.
Short and retired actress Dolman wed in 1980. They have three grown-up children, Katherine, Oliver and Henry.

Actor TAYLOR LAUTNER has filed a lawsuit against a trailer company for ca using him "distress" after allegedly failing to deliver a vehicle on time ..
The Twilight star claims he struck a deal with McMahon’s RV to buy a pe rsonal trailer for approximately $300,000 (=C2=A3200,000) so he could use it on the set of new movie Abduction.
But Lautner alleges the firm failed to deliver the vehicle by the agree d date of 21 June (10), causing him "emotional distress" and "annoyance", reports TMZ.com.
He is suing for breach of contract and fraud and is seeking unspecified damages.

The pop star and reality TV darling has landed the role of a groupie in new movie Should Have Been Romeo.
She took to Twitter.com to announce the big news, writing, "It’s a come dy and i play the role of nicole, who is a crazy groupie! its amazingly f unny." It’s Osbourne’s first major film role.

The summer’s Lilith ‘10 tour has been ruled a charity success, despite th e cancellation of dates - the roving all-women concert has raised more th an $500,000 (GBP333,300) for North American organisations.
The tour had a shaky start as acts like Norah Jones and Kelly Clarkson pulled out amid poor ticket sales, but organisers refused to give up on L ilith - and now charity officials are saluting the efforts of co-founder Sarah McLachlan, Mary J. Blige, the Indigo Girls and their tourmates.
Lilith ‘10 recently wrapped up its 23-city run and now there are plans in motion to take the concept to Australia later this year (10) - as A Ta ste of Lilith.
McLachlan admits she’s proud with the cash raised by the tour: "I have a moral and social responsibility as a human being to give back what I ca n.
"Lilith 2010 was an amazing experience for me on so many levels. It fel t so great to be back out on the road and sharing the stage with so many talented women. For me, Lilith has always represented a sense of communit y, and that’s the greatest thing I take away from these shows. To be able to create an environment where both established artists and up-and-comer s can join together, learn from one another and feed off each other’s ene rgy is such a great gift." Reports suggesting upcoming GUNS N’ ROSES shows have been scrapped have s parked confusion among the members of the band - bassist TOMMY STINSON re veals he has no idea what’s going on.
After a disastrous, delayed band performance at the Rock ‘N Rev Festiva l in Sturgis, South Dakota on August 13 (10), a post appeared on frontman Axl Rose’s Twitter.com page suggesting all upcoming concerts had been ca ncelled.
The organisers of the Leeds and Reading Festival in England, where the rockers are due to perform this weekend (27-29Aug10), have assured fans t he tweet was a hoax penned by someone who hacked into Rose’s account.
Stinson insists "everything’s fine", but even he was stumped by the twe et.
He tells Cleveland, Ohio’s classic rock radio station 98.5 WNCX, "It’s startling to me how stuff happens. It’s stressful. It’s like you kinda th ink, ‘OK, well, I’ve gotta get my life in order here ’cause I’m leaving i n five days,’ and then you hear something like that coming down the pike.

MOTORHEAD star LEMMY, DEE SNIDER, GLENN HUGHES and the SCORPIONS were amo ng the rockers celebrated at the Vegas Rocks! Magazine Awards at the week end (22Aug10).
The trio were presented with achievement honours at the inaugural prize giving, held at the Elvis Showroom inside the Las Vegas Hilton hotel.
The event, held to mark the publication’s sixth anniversary, featured a show-stopping finale as Twisted Sister star Snider and Lita Ford took th e stage together for a duet performance.

MICHAEL JACKSON’s family will have to wait until next year (10) to find o ut whether the pop star’s physician will face a trial and possible jail t ime for administering the anaesthetic that killed the King of Pop - the p reliminary hearing has been set for 4 January (11).
Dr. Conrad Murray attended Monday’s (23Aug10) brief session at Los Ange les Superior Court, where Judge Michael Pastor scheduled the hearing for the New Year.
At that hearing, Judge Pastor will rule whether or not to send Murray’s case to trial.
The 57-year-old medic has pleaded not guilty to one count of involuntar y manslaughter.
Jackson’s mother Katherine and his father Joseph joined various family members in court for the judge’s decision.

Actress KELLY BROOK celebrated after landing a leading role in the new PI RANHA 3D movie by sending a sarcastic text message to her former boss, SI MON COWELL.
After Cowell fired her as a judge on his TV talent show Britain’s Got T alent in 2009 - after just three days - Brook decided to take a break in Los Angeles, and landed her first major Hollywood movie role.
She was spotted dining out in Santa Monica by the film’s director Alexa ndre Aja.
Brook auditioned for his flesh-eating fish movie and landed the role - and then texted Cowell.
She says, "I wrote, ‘I hear you found a great new singer named Susan Bo yle. Good luck with that. I=E2=80=99m in Arizona getting eaten by a fish.
" But Brook insists she has no hard feelings about her former boss.

Martial arts star JACKIE CHAN has come under fire for endorsing a shampoo which allegedly contained carcinogens.
The Rush Hour star has used his movie fame to pitch all manner of produ cts in China, but the latest has landed him in hot water.
Critics claim Chan backs too many brands - and he should be more discer ning.
And one leading opponent, columnist Qiao Zhifeng, went further, calling Chan’s shampoo mess "an abuse of endorsements." But government officials deemed the shampoo, called BaWang, safe.
Chan recently broke his silence about the controversy at charity auctio n in Shanghai on 8 August (10).
He said, "Incidents like this, where shampoos are reported to have prob lems, are not new. Someone is trying to harm me and BaWang." He added, "I have always been very careful with what products I endorse .." Top analyst Tiger Hou tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper he believes Chan will survive the controversy because the Chinese people love and tr ust him.

The woman accused of slashing LEONARDO DiCAPRIO’s face with a glass durin g a 2005 Hollywood party insists the actor started the altercation by th reatening her.
Aretha Wilson allegedly hit the Titanic star during a house party throw n by Paris Hilton’s ex-boyfriend, film producer Rick Salomon. DiCaprio wa s allegedly hospitalised after the attack, which left him needing 17 stit ches to close up a large cut across his face.
Wilson, 40, who was previously ordered to stay at least 500 yards (457 metres) away from DiCaprio, is being held on $150,000 (=C2=A3100,000) bai l and was arraigned in a Los Angeles court earlier this month (Aug10).
Speaking in court on Monday (23Aug10) Wilson’s lawyer claimed the case is a cover-up and demanded a judge hand over a toxicology report from the night of the attack, and DiCaprio’s medical records, reports TMZ.com.
Her legal representative claimed DiCaprio started the altercation by re acting to offensive comments Wilson made about him and his friends.
But DiCaprio’s lawyer, Blair Berk, has slammed the allegations, stating , "These are outrageous lies and a classic case of trying to re-victimise a victim in a violent assault. That this woman became a fugitive from ju stice for five years to avoid responsibility and that Mr. DiCaprio has fu lly co-operated with the prosecution from day one should say everything.
"This woman has a long criminal history of violent criminal attacks on others and should be given no attention whatsoever. Mr. DiCaprio simply w ants justice." Wilson faces up to four years in prison if convicted.

The British rocker has penned a set of 10 new tracks and will record 50 different versions of each song. He will then release each collection as Outsider Music Volumes 1-50.

Evans failed to elaborate on the circumstances surrounding her arrest, or comment on reports she will be charged.
