HURLEY SLAMS BOOB JOB REPORTS

ELIZABETH HURLEY has dismissed reports she has gone under the knife to en hance her chest, insisting her breasts are completely natural.
The Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery star was hit by rumours of cosmetic surgery after she was photographed in a bikini during a vaca tion in Spain last week (end22Aug10).
But Hurley, who has her own swimwear range, has moved quickly to brush off speculation, crediting flattering swimsuits for showing off her curve s.

FACEBOOK BOSSES DEMAND CHANGES TO THE SOCIAL NETWORK

Producers of DAVID FINCHER’s new movie THE SOCIAL NETWORK have made a ser ies of changes to the film at the demand of disapproving Facebook executi ves.
Producer Scott Rudin gave bosses of the hit networking website an early preview of the film after they voiced concerns that company founder Mark Zuckerberg - played by Jesse Eisenberg - would be portrayed in a negativ e light.
Rudin tells the New York Times two top Facebook executives =E2=80=9Csaw the movie a while ago, and they do not like it".
Movie chiefs have agreed to make changes and are considering deleting a controversial scene in which Justin Timberlake, playing Napster co-found er Sean Parker, gives a speech while teenage girls in the background offe r lines of cocaine for partygoers to snort off their bared breasts.

LOHAN’S RELEASE DATE RULING PUSHED FORWARD

LINDSAY LOHAN will find out her rehab release date sooner than expected - a judge is to issue a ruling a day early on Tuesday (24Aug10).
The Mean Girls star was jailed last month (Jul10) for breaching her pro bation stemming from a 2007 DUI arrest.
She was also ordered to spend 90 days in rehab as part of her sentence and is currently being treated at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Now Judge Elden Fox is set to reveal if Lohan can leave the centre earl y, following calls from her lawyers to reduce her stay.
Doctors at UCLA have recommended that the star be released before the 9 0-day stint is up, according to TMZ.com.
Lohan’s lawyer was set to appear in court for a hearing on Wednesday (2 5Aug10), but Fox has now agreed to give an unspecified ruling on Tuesday instead.
Reports suggest Lohan could be released as early as this week (end29Aug 10).

APPEALS COURT CLEARS PERRY OF PLAGIARISM

TYLER PERRY is breathing a sigh of relief after a U.S. appeals court clea red the filmmaker of accusations he stole the idea for his movie DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN.
Donna West’s case against the actor/screenwriter was dismissed two year s ago (08) after jurors in a Texas court found she did not have enough ev idence to support her claim that Perry lifted material from her play, Fan tasy of a Black Woman, to use in his 2005 blockbuster.
The playwright launched an appeal against the verdict but on Monday (23 Aug10), the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled there was no improper conduct in the trial, according to the Associated Press.
West’s play was performed three times in 1991 in Dallas, and she conten ded Perry could have gained access to the script in 1998 when he presente d his plays at the Dallas Black Academy of Arts and Letters.
Perry’s film took in more than $50 million (=C2=A333 million) at the bo x office.

QUAID SUES FINANCIAL ADVISERS

Actor RANDY QUAID is targeting his financial advisers in a new lawsuit, a ccusing them of taking millions of dollars from him.
Quaid claims he has lost more than $10 million (=C2=A36.7 million) in " loans I did not need or want" after advisers allegedly forged his signatu re on bank documents, according to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superio r Court on Monday (23Aug10).
He alleges financial representatives acting for him made fraudulent rea l estate loans in his name with the aid of officials at City National Ban k, reports TMZ.com.
Quaid also claims the advisers stole a number of his pay cheques, inclu ding $600,000 (=C2=A3400,000) in royalty payments for his performance in 2005’s Brokeback Mountain.

TRACHTENBERG’S REP DENIES SHE’S DATING MAYER

A spokesperson for actress MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG has dismissed reports th e actress is dating notorious Hollywood playboy JOHN MAYER.
Recent reports suggested the EuroTrip star was "smitten" with the singe r/songwriter, who has dated a string of top beauties including Jennifer A niston and Jessica Simpson.
But the actress’ rep insists rumours her client was spotted cosying up to Mayer during a recent night out at Los Angeles hotspot Soho House have been blown out of proportion.
The spokesperson insists the pair chatted for a mere five minutes, and the relationship is purely platonic.
The rep tells the New York Post, "They’ve known each other for years."

OZZY OSBOURNE has joined the undead - the rocker shows off his fangs at t he end of his new video, which marks his son Jack’s directorial debut.
The Crazy Train hitmaker stares into the camera and shows off what appe ar to be vampire teeth as the music to Life Won’t Wait fades in the new p romo, in which Osbourne wanders through a graveyard, oversees the funeral of a young socialite and then hangs out at drug and booze-fuelled partie s, warning revellers to slow down.
The rocker, who has beaten his own drug and booze demons, even recreate s one of his infamous fights with manager/wife Sharon, who is played by a n actress in the video.
The promo also briefly features Jack’s sister and Ozzy’s daughter Kelly at a party.

MCDANIELS’ SUMMER CAMP FOR FOSTER KIDS

RUN-DMC star DARRYL MCDANIELS has spent his summer counselling foster kid s at a special summer camp in his native New York.
The rapper co-founded Camp Felix after discovering he had been adopted at the age of five when he was in his mid-30s.
The annual three-week get away brings together 350 eight-to-14 year old s each summer at Peekskill in upstate New York. McDaniels’ aim: to help k ids in the child welfare system share their experiences and overcome iden tity issues.
The It’s Tricky hitmaker, who chronicled his first meeting with his bio logical mother in the 2004 documentary DMC: My Adoption Journey, tells th e New York Daily News, "These kids say, ‘I am just a foster kid. I have n othing going for me other than just being miserable.’ I tell them, ‘You a re wrong. Your situation doesn=E2=80=99t define who you are.’" "We are a family" McDaniels has already used his famous name to attract star-studded supp ort for Camp Felix - Mark Wahlberg recently donated $100,000 (GBP66,700) to the cause.

DEVIN COMPLETES NEW-LOOK WHITESNAKE

WHITESNAKE have recruited the LYNCH MOB’s rhythm section to replace URIAH DUFFY and CHRIS FRAZIER, who quit the group in June (10).
Drummer Brian Tichy was an early replacement for Frazier and the group has now ended its search for a bassist after bringing Tichy’s bandmate Mi chael Devin onboard.
The duo will join David Coverdale, Doug Aldrich, Reb Beach and Timothy Drury in the studio to record tracks for a new album, which will be relea sed early next year (11).
Devin tells WENN, "It’s an honour to be welcomed into the Whitesnake fa mily. I’m a big fan. Whitesnake is notorious for exciting musicianship, D avid=E2=80=99s history is rich, and I’m very proud to be here." The new line-up is expected to tour in 2011.

PEARL JAM TO CELEBRATE 20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH NEIL YOUNG

Rockers PEARL JAM will celebrate their 20th birthday at pal NEIL YOUNG’s annual charity show for his school for children with severe physical disa bilities.
Guitarist Stone Gossard has announced he and his bandmates will ring in the 20th anniversary of their first show by headlining the concert in Mo untain View, California in October (10).
He says the show will be "really special," telling Billboard.com, "That ’s our 20th anniversary, which is fitting. It’s perfect - not too blown u p. It’s not about us, it’s about all those kids that are onstage with you and about Neil Young and his commitment, his influence." The show will be Pearl Jam’s eighth appearance at the Bridge School Ben efit.
Pearl Jam played their first concert in Seattle, Washington, as Mookie Blaylock, on 22 October, 1990.

WAYNE PENS MEMOIRS ABOUT LIFE AS A FOSTER CHILD

Country star JIMMY WAYNE has put pen to paper and written a new book abou t his experiences as a foster child.
The singer/songwriter, who grew up in the system in North Carolina, has opened up about the hardships of life in foster homes in a novella calle d Paper Angels, which is also the title of one of his hits.

THE SWELL SEASON TO SPLIT AFTER TRAGEDY

Oscar winners and former lovers GLEN HANSARD and MARKETA IRGLOVA are to s plit as THE SWELL SEASON to embark on other endeavours.
The news comes just days after a fan committed suicide onstage at a Swe ll Season show in Saratoga, California - but the tragedy has nothing to d o with the parting.
Hansard has announced plans to rejoin his former band The Frames, while Irglova intends to record a solo album.
Irishman Hansard tells Spinner.com, "I’ll go back to the Frames, and Ma r will make her own record at some point. This band (Swell Season) will e ventually naturally end. But right now, all of us are just so grateful.
"Getting together and making music with Mar was a side thing for me, bu t it felt absolutely right. I followed through on it even when it felt li ke I might’ve been abandoning my band a bit. But I had to follow through.
I knew there was something in this that I had to follow through on." And he has every faith that his Swell Season partner, once co-star and former lover will make every success of a solo career: "I love the way sh e writes. I think she’s an incredible songwriter and I think she could ma ke a really beautiful, beautiful record… I’m very, very proud of her."

JAY-Z TO JOIN U2 ON TOUR DOWN UNDER?

U2’s newly-announced Australian tour is set to be the ticket of the year (10) - JAY-Z will reportedly join the Irish rockers on the road Down Unde r.
The band returned to the road at the beginning of the month (Aug10) aft er frontman Bono underwent spinal surgery to correct a herniated disc - a nd now the Beautiful Day hitmakers have extended their 360 Degree Tour wi th a string of year-end dates in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth in December (10). They will also make a stop in Auckland, New Zealand.
And now it looks like rapper Jay-Z will make the trip as well.
The trek will kick off at Auckland’s Mount Smart Stadium on 25 November (10) and wrap up in Perth, where U2 will make their first tour stop in 1 2 years.

HILL A BIG HIT AT U.S. CONCERT COMEBACK

LAURYN HILL was hailed "the true queen of hip-hop" as she staged her U.S.
concert comeback at the Rock The Bells festival in California at the wee kend (22Aug10).
The reclusive former Fugees star took the stage at the NOS Events Cente r in San Bernardino, California and struggled with some of the high notes she hit during her 1990s heyday - but she was a big hit.
Joining Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One and Sli ck Rick on the bill, Hill, dressed in sheer black and wearing a red beret , took a moment to dedicate the song Zion to the eldest of her five child ren, stating, "My son Zion is now 13 years old… Can you believe that mu ch time has passed?" Among the hits, Hill performed Fugees favourites Fu-Gee-La and Ready or Not and a seven-minute rendition of When It Hurts So Bad.

PIRANHAS TO BITE AGAIN IN 3D SEQUEL

The movie bosses behind PIRANHA 3D are so thrilled with the new disaster film’s opening weekend success at the box office, they’re already startin g work on a sequel.
The movie, featuring British beauty Kelly Brook, Elisabeth Shue and Jer ry O’Connell, made $10 million (=C2=A36.6 million) at the U.S. box office over the weekend (21-22Aug10) and finished up just outside the top five films.
But movie executives at Dimension Films didn’t need to see the figures - rave reviews prompted them to press on with a sequel.
Producer Mark Canton says, "We are thrilled that audiences are not just loving Piranha 3D, but cheering for it. And it=E2=80=99s fantastic that so many critics are really getting the movie and recommending it. We can=E2 =80=99t wait to get to work on the sequel."

LOST VEHICLES FETCH $87,500 AT AUCTION=20

The vehicles from LOST were among the biggest items to go under the hamme r at a props and memorabilia auction on Sunday (22Aug10).
The DHARMA Van, Hurley=E2=80=99s Camaro and the DHARMA Jeep were the hi ghlights of the two-day sale, which culminated early on Monday morning (2 3Aug10), raising $87,500 (=C2=A358,333).
The van was the big highlight - it went for $47,500 (=C2=A331,600). The DHARMA Jeep and Hurley’s Camaro both fetched $20,000 (=C2=A313,300).
Other highlights of the Profiles in History sale included a script of t he pilot episode signed by show co-creators J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelo f, the suit Matthew Fox’s character Jack was buried in and his set chair, and a large section of the Oceanic Flight 815 aircraft wreckage. (KL/WN/

PENN SHOCKS IN DRAG FOR NEW MOVIE

SEAN PENN shocked onlookers in Dublin, Ireland on Monday (23Aug10) by par ading around in lipstick and a fuzzy wig - but it was all in the name of his art.
The Milk star is playing a wealthy, retired rocker who embarks on a que st to find the German officer who executed his father in This Must Be the Place.
Penn, who turned 50 last week (17Aug10), was photographed looking solem n as he donned earrings and full make-up as he shot scenes on location in the city.
The film, which marks Italian director Paolo Sorrentino’s English debut , is due for release next year (11).

ANISTON SET FOR FRIENDS REUNION IN COUGAR TOWN

JENNIFER ANISTON is turning to her FRIENDS for a career boost following h er latest film flop THE SWITCH - she’ll appear opposite COURTENEY COX in an upcoming episode of TV comedy COUGAR TOWN.
The actress will guest star on the show=E2=80=99s second season premier e, which will air in America on 22 September (10).
Executive producer Bill Lawrence reveals, "She=E2=80=99s going to play Courteney=E2=80=99s shrink, named Bonnie, who is a kinda get-too-involved -in-her-life-type of therapist." It’s the second time best pals and former co-stars Cox and Aniston have teamed since Friends ended in 2004 - Aniston also made an appearance on Cox=E2=80=99s show Dirt in 2007.
Lawrence is now campaigning to get Aniston to commit to more episodes: "We=E2=80=99re very intentionally implying that it=E2=80=99s a therapist Courteney has been using for a while and we=E2=80=99re certainly not goin g to make it like they=E2=80=99ll never see each other again, so I=E2=80=99 m crossing my fingers that if she has a good time it=E2=80=99ll happen ag ain." It won’t be the first Friends reunion on the show - Lisa Kudrow played a rude doctor on an episode in the first season of the hit comedy.
Aniston needs a lift - The Switch opened in eighth place at the U.S. bo x office this weekend (20-22Aug10) with a disappointing $8.1 million (=C2 =A35.3 million).
