ROLLING STONE RONNIE WOOD’s first solo album in almost a decade will hit stores in September (10) and feature a series of star-studded collaborati ons.
The rocker has teamed up with Faces bandmate Ian McLagan, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and Velvet Revolver’s Slash for I Feel Like Playing - a long-awaited follow up to 2001’s Not for Beginners.
The disc will be released by independent label Eagle Records on 27 Sept ember and is also expected to feature a guest appearance from Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, who Wood revealed he was working with last year (09).
It’s a busy time for Wood, who is on hiatus with the rest of the Rollin g Stones - rather than use the time to rest up, he’s currently preparing to tour with the reformed Faces, featuring Mick Hucknall as a stand-in fo r original frontman Rod Stewart.

Rapper-turned-actor T.I is set to animate the U.S. TV market - he’s launc hing his own hip-hop cartoon series.
The Live Your Life hitmaker revealed on Sirius radio show Shade 45 he i s producing a series called Lil Homies.
And while he’s kept quiet on details of the storyline, the rapper has h inted he may lend his own vocals to the show.

A charity party planner has leaped to the defense of DJ SAMANTHA RONSON a fter police were called to shut down a recent benefit, amid complaints sh e was playing loud and "inappropriate" music.
Ronson was on the turntables at the Brazilian Sunflowers event in South ampton, New York on Saturday (22Aug10) when the cops were called and she was ordered to shut down.
One partygoer tells the New York Post an upset reveller called the poli ce because he felt her techno music set list didn’t match the mood of the Brazilian bossa nova-themed event.
Guest Neil Wolfson explains, "The crowd was primed for this mellow musi c and she came on and started playing techno, inappropriate for the crowd .." But a party organiser has brushed off the controversy, insisting cops a llowed the event to continue after realising the complaint was from an un happy reveller.

NICK CANNON has fired off at prying journalists for fuelling rumours his wife MARIAH CAREY is pregnant, insisting the singer will address the repo rts "directly" when she is ready.
Speculation has swirled around the couple since Carey pulled out of a T yler Perry movie over mysterious health concerns in June (10), but she’s yet to confirm or deny whether she’s a mum-to-be.
Cannon finally spoke up last month (Jul10), telling U.S. magazine Star "Mariah is not pregnant" - but new photos of the singer performing in Bra zil and sporting what looks like a fuller figure have raised fresh questi ons about the baby news.
And so Cannon has spoken out once again, insisting his wife will issue comment when the time is right.
Ranting in a radio interview on New York’s 92.3 FM on Monday (23Aug10), he said, "I’ve said it before and I’ll say it time and time again - when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you w ill hear it directly from her.
"Honestly… I say this to you so you can tell whoever it is you’ve got to tell, we all know it’s extremely personal, and it is for a woman to d eal with things with her body, and especially when dealing with the idea of childbirth and all that stuff.
"We know that we’re public figures… but that’s something that you wan t to keep near and dear… until you’re 100 per cent sure in any situatio n… There’s a certain time limit that you’re supposed to wait before you actually can officially say that you are (pregnant).
"You’ve got to take all those things into factor and it gets really hei ghtened when you’re one of the most famous people in the world because yo u don’t want to mislead anybody." Carey and Cannon wed after a whirlwind romance in 2008.

Breast cancer survivor SHERYL CROW is opening a state-of-the art centre i n Los Angeles to aid early detection of the deadly disease.
Tuesday (24Aug10) marked the grand opening of the Sheryl Crow Imaging C enter, which features the latest advancements in digital screening and di agnostic imaging technologies for the detection of breast cancer.
The facility is part of the Pink Lotus Breast Center, America’s first f acility dedicated exclusively to the prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
The Grammy-winner was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 after a rout ine mammogram. She underwent surgery with Dr. Kristi Funk, founder of the Pink Lotus Breast Center, and has been cancer-free since completing radi ation therapy.
Crow said in a statement: "Joining forces with the Pink Lotus Breast Ce nter has provided me with a wonderful platform to create awareness and en courage the millions of American women over 40 to get their annual mammog ram.
"Detecting breast cancer early is a woman’s best chance at survival, an d digital full-field mammography is the gold standard of early detection.

British actor RUPERT GRINT is making the most of his free time after wrap ping filming on HARRY POTTER - he’s undergoing surgery to have his tonsil s out.
Grint, who turns 22 on Tuesday (24Aug10), repeatedly falls ill with ton sillitis but has been too busy filming the hit wizard franchise to go int o hospital for an operation.
But since completing his part in the final instalment earlier this year (10), the star has finally scheduled his hospital appointment.
He says, "They’re always getting infected. But the operation takes two weeks to recover from so I couldn’t have it done because of filming. I ca n’t wait to get rid of ‘em."

A 22-year-old Mexican beat out 82 beauty queens to be crowned Miss Univer se in Las Vegas on Monday night (26Aug10).
Jimena Navarrete won a one-year scholarship to the New York Film Academ y, a luxury Big Apple apartment, jewellery, clothing and footwear gifts a nd an undisclosed salary.
Navarrete beat out runners-up Yendi Phillipps of Jamaica and Australia’ s Jesinta Campbell to claim the crown. She replaces Miss Universe 2009 St efania Fernandez of Venezuela.

Eco-warrior BRAD PITT is so appalled by the BP oil disaster in the Gulf o f Mexico he wants those responsible for the chaos to be executed.
The movie star insists he’s an opponent of the death penalty, but he’d make an exception for the BP bosses behind the 100-day-plus oil leak, whi ch has become America’s greatest environmental disaster.
Wildlife and marine creatures were killed as the oil flooded into the s ea, and fishermen and those reliant on tourism throughout the Gulf region were left struggling the make ends meet.
And Pitt is calling for strong action when it comes to dealing with tho se responsible for the disaster.
Speaking on director Spike Lee=E2=80=99s If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don=E2=80=99t Rise documentary about New Orleans, Louisiana, which aired on TV in the U.S. on Monday night (23Aug10), the actor declared, "I was never for the death penalty before, but I am willing to look at it again.
" Pitt, who owns property in New Orleans, is one of the brains behind an initiative to create safe, green housing developments in the city in the wake of Hurricane Katrina five years ago (05).

Police have confirmed they arrested a man at PARIS HILTON’s Los Angeles h ome on Tuesday morning (24Aug10), after the socialite alleged a stranger tried to break in while holding two large knives.
Petrified Hilton took to her blog on Twitter.com to write of her terror after she awakened to a strange noise and discovered a man trying to gai n entry to her house.
Posting a picture of cops arresting a man in her garden, she wrote: "So scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes (sic). Cops are here arresting him." Local police officer Gregory Baek confirms a man in his 40s attempted t o break into Hilton’s mansion at approximately 6:30am local time and was taken into custody at a local jail.
He could not confirm if the man was armed.
However, a spokesperson for the star has assured fans she was unharmed: "Paris is naturally shaken by the events but is unharmed and well. She i s very thankful to her security team and the police for their swift and d iligent response." As WENN went to press it was unclear if the burglar targeted Hilton or if it was a random incident.

Actress SOFIA VERGARA is nursing her boyfriend back to health after he br oke his leg in a horrific car crash on Monday (23Aug10).
Nick Loeb was admitted to a Los Angeles-area hospital after sustaining serious injuries in an accident in Bel Air.
TMZ.com reports paramedics arrived at to the scene and found the 35 yea r old with a severely broken leg and a deep gash across his chest. It was not reported if any others were injured in the crash.
Loeb was reportedly undergoing treatment in the hospital’s intensive ca re unit (ICU) as WENN went to press.
The Modern Family actress, 38, reportedly started dating Loeb earlier t his year (10).

Tony-winning actress KATIE FINNERAN has announced she’ll be leaving the c ast of hit Broadway musical PROMISES, PROMISES in October (10) - to have a baby.
The 39-year-old star, who won a Tony for Featured Actress in a Musical in June (10), will give her last performance on 10 October (10), producer s announced on Tuesday (24Aug10).
The news comes just days after Finneran married her longtime boyfriend Goldstein, on 22 August (10).
The couple’s child is due in the winter of 2011.

Singer PETE BURNS is a grumpy worker - he refused to sell albums by bands he didn’t like during his years at a record store.
The former Dead or Alive star manned the counter at the legendary Probe Records in Liverpool, England before shooting to fame with his hit song You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) in 1984.
And he wasn’t the only one celebrating when his career took off - custo mers at Probe were often stunned by his refusal to sell them certain albu ms.
Music agent Mitch Poole, who shopped in the store as a youngster, tells the Liverpool Echo, "I used to hate getting served by Pete Burns, who te rrified the life out of me in those black contact lenses. He would ask ‘W hat do you want to buy that for? It’s c**p’! I once remember him refusing to sell to my mate How Soon Is Now? by The Smiths, because he hated it s o much."

Singer ENRIQUE IGLESIAS has hideous scars on his thighs after he was scal ded in a bath as a child.
The Hero hitmaker suffered painful burns after the horrific accident wh en he mistakenly sat in a tub of red-hot water when he was a youngster.
He was taken to hospital for treatment but was left scarred for life by the injuries.
He tells Britain’s The Guardian, "(My earliest memory is) being in a ho spital when I was very young. I got burned in the bathtub back when there used to be gas boilers. I have scars on my inner thighs - nothing on the n**s!"

British pop star KIMBERLEY WALSH is still suffering after scaling Mount K ilimanjaro last year (09) - she injured her joints during the gruelling c limb and has yet to fully recover.
The Girls Aloud star joined a celebrity group, including her bandmate C heryl Cole and Take That’s Gary Barlow, to trek to the top of the Tanzani an peak as part of a fundraising charity expedition.
But the singer admits she’s still in pain nearly 18 months later.
She tells Britain’s OK! magazine, "I felt so exhausted afterwards and e ver since I’ve had quite a lot of problems with my hips. I had to rest fo r a while really to strengthen my joints and stuff. I think I did myself a bit of long-term damage actually. It’s fine, though, it was worth it. B ut don’t worry, I don’t need a hip replacement just yet."

Singer MARC ALMOND struggles to forget his brush with death in 2004 - he regularly drives past the site of his motorcycle crash and envisages hims elf lying injured in the road.
The former Soft Cell frontman was riding pillion when his pal’s motorbi ke crashed in central London in October 2004, throwing him from the saddl e.
Experts initially feared he would not survive the horror, but Almond - who suffered head injuries in the accident - stunned medics by making a " remarkable" recovery and was freed from hospital just three weeks later.
The Tainted Love hitmaker still suffers side effects from his injuries - including the return of a stutter he conquered in his childhood - and o ften imagines his own death when he passes the site of the accident.
He tells Britain’s You magazine, "I sometimes drive past the spot where it happened and I see myself lying in the road. I lived round the corner from Freddie Mercury when he died, and people created this shrine of poe ms and flowers and teddy bears, and I’ve sometimes wondered if my fans wo uld have done the same for me…
"But my attitude’s changed for the better, I think. The accident made m e realise that my life’s more important than my career. It helped me reco nnect with my family and friends. The problems it’s left me with are part of my life, but I don’t want to be a victim."

Australian singer/actress HOLLY VALANCE turned her back on her pop career because she became sick of her "unglamorous" life on the road.
Valance first found fame in her native country after landing a role in hit TV soap opera Neighbours in 1999.
In 2002 she launched a music career, shooting to the top of the charts in Australia and the U.K. with her debut single, Kiss Kiss.
Two albums, several more singles, and a string of award nominations fol lowed before she returned to the small screen in 2004 with roles in CSI: Miami, Entourage, and Prison Break.
Now Valance has revealed she has no desire to get back on the pop music treadmill as she became bored with the endless rounds of promotional dut ies.
She tells U.K. TV show This Morning, "I guess I lost a little bit of pa ssion for it. I really enjoy writing and I will probably continue to do t hat always but I don’t think that I was really wanting to be out on the r oad all the time, living out of a bag. It was just airports and hotels, a nd when you lose a bit of passion for something like that it makes it ver y difficult because you have to be 150 per cent all the time.
"It’s not very glamorous at all… So when things quietened down betwee n records I just thought, ‘I’m not really happy doing this at the moment, maybe I could go back to what I do love", which is acting. It’s where I started."

SLIPKNOT star COREY TAYLOR is hoping to forge a new career as a novelist - the rocker has written his first book.
Taylor reveals his novel is a humorous and "dark" tale based on the Sev en Deadly Sins, which is due for release early next year (11).
He says, "I just finished writing it, and it’s being edited right now. We’re hoping to get it out by the spring of next year. It’s about the Sev en Deadly Sins and my take on them and how I don’t think they’re sins at all. They’re human characteristics. They’re just human flaws and things t hat we all experience… I’m telling stories from my past and balancing h umour with serious, dark stuff. I’m really excited about it." And Taylor insists he is pleased he finished the book without professio nal help, adding: "I’m very proud of the fact I didn’t have a ghostwriter ..
