LIL WAYNE will give fans another reason to celebrate when he leaves priso n on 5 November (10) - he’s planning to release the follow-up to his hit album Tha Carter III on the same day.
The Lollipop hitmaker, real name Dwayne Carter, Jr., has been serving t ime at New York’s tough Rikers Island prison since March (10), after plea ding guilty to charges of gun possession.
He’s expected to walk free from jail on 5 November (10) after serving j ust eight months of his year-long sentence, providing he continues to abi de by jail rules and regulations.
But he’s refused to let his legal problems silence his music. Young Mon ey Crew president, record label boss Mack Maine, has confirmed Wayne has been working hard behind bars, on the song selection for Tha Carter IV.
Maine tells MTV News, "Tha Carter IV plans we had and still have are to put Tha Carter IV out the day he comes out (of prison). He had so many s ongs for Tha Carter IV, we said let’s just put these 10 songs out (on I A m Not a Human Being) and double-back for Tha Carter IV. He has more songs for Tha Carter IV that are still strong." Wayne previously vowed to release Tha Carter IV in late 2009, following the success of 2008’s Tha Carter III, which sold more than one million c opies in the U.S. in its first week of release.
But the album isn’t the only release label bosses have planned - Wayne’ s new EP I Am Not a Human Being will be available for digital download wh en the rapper turns 28 on 27 September (10).
