HAINES FEATURES MAIL MAN ON NEW ALBUM
British rocker LUKE HAINES will deliver a bizarre surprise on his new alb um - it features an impromptu contribution from his postman.
The former Auteurs frontman announced this week (beg23Aug10) he will be releasing 50 albums - titled Outsider Music Volumes 1-50 - simultaneousl y next month (Sep10).
Each disc will contain different versions of the same 10 songs, and Hai nes has now revealed he was so determined to keep the tracks "live" that he refused to stop recording - even when his postman called at the studio ..
A message on Haines’ website reads, "Each unique volume of Outsider Mus ic consists of an entirely live half hour (approx) performance by Luke Ha ines - there are no second takes. Sometimes there are mistakes, microphon es get knocked, singing sometimes goes bad, and on one volume Luke Haines is forced to answer the door to the postman.
"Once the red light for record goes on - it stays on. To own one of the fifty volumes of Outsider Music is like having Luke Haines in your livin g room, can you imagine?" And in a bid to deter internet pirates from trading the albums online, the message adds: "If you do buy a volume of Outsider Music remember: By buying an Outsider Music you are participating in an art event, uploading on to the internet will completely nullify the value of your purchase."
