PLANT WAS SO POOR HE RESORTED TO ‘THIEVERY’
LED ZEPPELIN rocker ROBERT PLANT was so poor before he found fame he reso rted to petty crime to survive.
The musician struggled to get by in the 1960s when he started out perfo rming with group Band Of Joy.
Plant, who has named his latest album after the band, admits he would o ften steal petrol out of cars and take milk from local residents in Manch ester, England because he had no money.
He tells Britain’s Daily Express, "We were better at siphoning petrol o ut of parked cars than we were at pulling crowds. We all meant it. We wer e at the point of starvation and would get involved in thievery. We would nick (steal) bottles of milk off the doorsteps in Manchester at 5am whil e tenants were waking up."
