ALBA & RODRIGUEZ PRAISE LOHAN AT MACHETE SCREENING
JESSICA ALBA and director ROBERT RODRIGUEZ used a screening of MACHETE on Wednesday (25Aug10) to send well-wishes to troubled actress LINDSAY LOHA N and praise her performance in the new movie.
Lohan was forced to miss the special showing in Los Angeles, which took place just one day after she was discharged from a rehab clinic at the U CLA Medical Center.
Filmmaker Rodriguez took the opportunity to rave about Lohan, insisting he can’t wait for audiences to see her on the big screen again.
He told MTV.com, "She’s awesome in the movie. That’s what they’ll see: the actress behind all that paparazzi nonsense that follows her and won’t leave her alone. They’ll get to see her and say, ‘Oh, that’s why we foll ow her around.’" And Alba, who plays an immigration officer in Machete, adds, "She’s so good in this movie. I can’t wait for people to see (her in) it." Lohan plays the daughter of a senator’s aide in the film, which hits ci nemas next month (Sep10).
The Mean Girls star was jailed last month (Jul10) for breaching her pro bation stemming from a 2007 DUI conviction. She then spent 23 days in reh ab.
