MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL is preparing to set Hollywood buzzing with a racy new r ole - she’s signed on to star in a film about the invention of the vibrat or.
The Secretary actress will play the daughter of a doctor in Victorian E ngland, who created the sex toy to treat hysteria, which will be the titl e of the risque movie.
Hysteria will also feature Evita star Jonathan Pryce and Hugh Dancy, wh o will play the inventors of the new electrical device, while Rupert Ever ett will also star.
Gyllenhaal says, "I play a firecracker whose father is a doctor who is in the business of curing hysterical women. He cures them basically by ge tting them off and that actually happened. I end up having a sort of unex pected love affair with this guy who works for him, and who by mistake in vents the vibrator." The film is slated for a 2011 release.
