LINDSAY LOHAN’s father is urging California’s Attorney General to investi gate the doctors who he alleges "overprescribe" pills for his troubled da ughter.
Michael Lohan is convinced the Mean Girls star has become dependent on medication and he’s compiled a list of physicians he claims are responsib le - and he wants California’s Attorney General Jerry Brown to question t hem.
In a letter sent to Brown, obtained by TMZ.com, Lohan and his lawyer Li sa Bloom "respectfully request an investigation" into the "unscrupulous d octors" who "overprescribe medications to (Lohan)… in violation of Cali fornia law".
Lohan also claims his daughter has found a "giant legal loophole" to ob tain her medications.
A recently leaked probation report revealed the actress regularly medic ates anxiety and depression with a cocktail of painkillers and has been o n the same prescriptions "for as long as she can remember".
She is currently serving time behind bars after violating probation ste mming from a 2007 DUI arrest. She has been ordered to attend a rehab prog ramme upon her release.

TV bosses behind JIMMY FALLON’s U.S. talk show are facing allegations of sexual discrimination from a former employee who claims he was demoted an d eventually dismissed because the presenter prefers working with women.
Veteran stagehand Paul Tarascio spent 14 years working on Late Night Wi th Conan O’Brien before Fallon took over the slot in 2009.
Tarascio has filed a complaint with America’s Equal Employment Opportun ity Commission alleging he was demoted shortly after the show changed for mat and replaced by a "less qualified woman".
He also claims Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’s director, David Diomedi, told him at the time, "You know Jimmy. He loves his women." Tarascio complained to his union reps and claims the atmosphere on set then became hostile and just two weeks later he was fired.
A spokesman for NBC tells Reuters, "We have yet to see any of the charg es. Any claim of sexual discrimination is without merit."

MARK RUFFALO hopes there are no hard feelings with his HULK predecessor E DWARD NORTON, insisting his pal’s public exclusion from THE AVENGERS wasn ‘t "a great way" to kick off the project.
Fans were left stunned when Marvel Studios bosses announced last month (Jun10) that Norton, who played Dr. Bruce Banner and his monstrous alter- ego in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, would not star in the upcoming superhe ro movie.
A statement declared he would be replaced by an actor who "embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members".
Ruffalo was confirmed as the new Hulk as the The Avengers line-up appea red at the Comic-Con event last week (24Jul10) - but he admits he regrets the way the situation unfolded.
He tells EW.com, "I’m a friend of Ed’s, and yeah, that wasn’t a great w ay for all that to go down. But the way I see it is that Ed has bequeathe d this part to me. I look at it as my generation’s Hamlet." And the actor admits he was petrified before taking the stage at the co mic book convention with his castmates, including Samuel L. Jackson, Robe rt Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans.
He adds, "I was very, very nervous. I didn’t know what to expect. That’ s as close you’re going to get to being a rock star as an actor. The fans - they have very strong feelings toward their comic book heroes.
"It was very exciting - and I realised I had some pretty big shoes to fill. Those were my heroes up there! I was a comic book fan growing up. I loved The Hulk and The Avengers - it’s just strange to be entering that world as an actor. I never would have imagined that before." Ruffalo’s appointment makes him the third actor to play The Hulk in rec ent years - Eric Bana took on the role before Norton in Ang Lee’s 2003 fi lm Hulk.

The producer suing CASEY AFFLECK for sexual harassment has been accused o f withholding "key production documents" from her bosses while trying to negotiate a higher salary, according to new legal filings.
Affleck is being sued for $2 million (=C2=A31.3 million) by Amanda Whit e, a producer on his documentary I’m Still Here, which follows actor Joaq uin Phoenix’s attempts to launch a rap career.
In a new court submission, Affleck’s attorney Marty Singer claims White refused to hand over important paperwork until her contract was finalise d, describing her move as "extortionate".
Singer includes an email in which White appears to want to renegotiate her salary.
In the email to Affleck, dated 12 April (10), White allegedly writes, " I really feel that in good faith, the documents you refer to are my work product, so I would prefer to hold them in trust until we can get the mat ter of my deal resolved." An attorney defending White claims the papers in question were "insigni ficant and not needed for months".
White filed her suit against Affleck earlier this month (Jul10) allegin g she endured "uninvited and unwelcome sexual advances in the workplace" while making the movie. She reportedly joined the documentary in December 2008 and quit in April 2009, reports TMZ.com.

ELLEN DEGENERES has quit her role as a judge on AMERICAN IDOL - less than a year after she was drafted in to replace PAULA ABDUL.
The funnywoman was hired by TV executives last August (09) to take Abdu l’s seat on the panel after the singer walked away from the show followin g eight seasons.
DeGeneres is leaving the talent show too, admitting she wasn’t the "rig ht fit" for the tough role because she hated upsetting the wannabe contes tants.
A statement from the star reads, "A couple months ago, I let FOX (netwo rk) and the American Idol producers know that this didn’t feel like the r ight fit for me. I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I w ould hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for.
"I also realised this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and someti mes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on Idol and I am very grateful for the year I had, I am a huge fan of the show and will co ntinue to be." Idol creator Simon Fuller adds, "I loved Ellen’s passion for the artist s and her nurturing skills. She brought honesty and optimism to our judgi ng panel and I will miss her greatly." The show’s bosses now have a tough time on their hands - they need to f ind two new judges to replace DeGeneres and Simon Cowell, who stepped dow n from his role on the panel earlier this year (10).
Recent reports suggest Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Lopez are being lin ed up to take their seats at the judging desk.

Former OASIS frontman LIAM GALLAGHER is taking his fashion label to Londo n’s famed Carnaby Street - he’s opening a pop-up store in the shopping Me cca.
The rocker launched Pretty Green last summer (Jun09) and the menswear r ange has mainly been available online at very steep prices.
But the musician is ready to offer his collection up to the British pub lic by launching a temporary store on the street which cemented the U.K. capital’s reputation as the fashion capital of the world in the 1960s.

Veteran British actress JOANNA LUMLEY has unveiled her secret to staying youthful in her 60s - she’s urging fellow pensioners not to "let yourself go".
The 64 year old is still hailed as a beauty and challenges herself with adventures - most recently fronting a campaign to help veteran Gurkha so ldiers stay in the U.K. and making a travel documentary about the River N ile.
And Lumley insists women in their twilight years no longer have to be t he "cardigan-wearing grannies" people expect them to be.
She tells Britain’s Good Housekeeping magazine, "I love it. It doesn’t feel like I’m 60, though. It’s so strange. You think, ‘Is this it? How od d!’ "But I do think there’s something else underlying this. When I was youn g, grandmothers looked like grey, permed, cardigan-wearing grannies! Wher eas our lot still rush to and fro, climbing mountains in whatever we do.
"It’s really just about keeping a grip on things: don’t let yourself go , don’t pack it all in. We have a saying in our profession, ‘Just stay in the boat.’ You should keep on going for as long as you like." And the Absolutely Fabulous star has words of wisdom for younger genera tions: "Worrying about the future saps your energy and makes you nervous - and quite often the thing you’re worrying about doesn’t work out as you expect it will! "In life we always expect things to happen at a certain time - to fall in love when we’re 21, be a success in our job in our 30s and retire when we’re 60. But you can never tell!"

"I’m drinking more and rehearsing this play has almost driven me to alc ohol because its so nerve-racking. Cider has become my new tipple! "I can see myself ending up like Richard Burton, because the business i s very stressful and I even started smoking again during rehearsals for t his." But the 51-year-old star is adamant he’s too old to consume any harder substances like he did in his youth.
He adds, "You can’t take drugs when you’re 50. I want my brain to conti nue functioning. The thing I’m worried about most now is brain disease. H aving taken so many drugs in my life, I think, oh my God, what about all my neuro things? "I don’t think I ever had a drug problem - I just took a lot of drugs. But slowly I stopped and if I take any drugs now, it’s just prescription pills."

EVA MENDES’ luxury car has suffered some serious damage after her attack dog went "ballistic" at the sight of a coyote and smashed her windshield.
The Latina star owns a burly Belgian Malinois named Hugo, which she des cribes as "a really sweet attack dog".
But Hugo showed his teeth during a drive back to Mendes’ California hom e, when a coyote caught his eye from the backseat of the car, prompting h im to try and muscle his way through the glass.
She explains, "He’s fully trained, fully equipped. And he’s in the back and I’m driving and a coyote runs across (the street)… and for some re ason Hugo becomes crazy. His instincts kick in. He just thinks, ‘Kill coy ote before coyote kills mama!’ "So he goes ballistic back there. He leaps across and all my windows ar e closed and he’s going insane against the windshield. So I have to pull the car over and and get some kind of control over the situation being th e pack leader that I am.
"I look over to my windshield and it’s completely shattered." But Mendes assures animal lovers her beloved pooch didn’t injure himsel f. She insists, "Doggy’s OK."

ISAIAH WASHINGTON’s financial woes refuse to go away - the actor is facin g a lawsuit from his bank after allegedly falling behind with loan repaym ents.
The former Grey’s Anatomy star, who was fired from the hit medical dram a in 2007 for using a derogatory term to describe gay actor T.R. Knight, is being sued by City National Bank bosses, who claim he has yet to repay a $100,000 (=C2=A366,660) loan he took out in 2008, according to TMZ.com ..
The website reports the bank is demanding the full amount, as well as i nterest and penalties.
Last year (09), Washington was threatened with eviction after allegedly failing to pay his landlord over $100,000 (=C2=A366,660) in rent on his home in Santa Monica, California.

STEVEN SEAGAL has been granted a temporary restraining order against a wo man who allegedly attacked one of the actor’s employees while trying to e nter his house.
The Under Siege hardman requested a protective order against Angela Rai n Bates, who was arrested at the star’s home in Los Angeles on 14 July (1 0).
According to court papers, the 55-year-old woman allegedly lashed out a t Seagal’s groundskeeper by "forcefully kick(ing) him twice, in the groin , and on his shin, causing a two-inch contusion on his leg" before throwi ng rocks Seagal’s window.
She was charged with battery, vandalism and trespassing and is currentl y in jail awaiting a trial date, according to TMZ.com.
Bates is said to have told cops she was married to Seagal’s father - wh o is deceased - and had lived in the house for 20 years.
The restraining order, which was granted on Thursday (29Jul10) at Los A ngeles Superior Court, means Bates has to stay 100 yards (91.4 metres) aw ay from the actor, his family and the groundskeeper she is accused of att acking.

Wahlberg was presented with the 2,414th star on the famous Hollywood Bo ulevard on Thursday (29Jul10) in recognition of his longstanding career a s a rapper, underwear model, actor and producer.
His The Other Guys co-star Ferrell was on hand to provide the chuckles at the ceremony when he jokingly praised Wahlberg for Damon’s hit Jason B ourne franchise.
He told the audience, "I’m glad to be here. I first became a fan of Mar k’s when I bought his workout video. And I love all your Bourne movies." And The Departed star, who was joined at the ceremony by his wife Rhea and their four kids, admitted he couldn’t quite believe he was being immo rtalised on the Walk of Fame.
