CARELL WANTS ANCHORMAN 2

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:12 pm

Comedian STEVE CARELL is urging movie studio bosses to reconsider making a sequel to ANCHORMAN because he’s convinced a second installment will be as good as the original.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, starring Will Ferrell in the tit le role, was a hit when it was released in 2004, raking in $90 million (=C2 =A360 million) in revenue on a relatively small budget of $26 million (=C2 =A317.3 million).
Plans for Anchorman 2 were subsequently announced but the idea was shel ved by Paramount executives after they rejected director Adam McKay’s $60 million (=C2=A340 million) request for funds.
But Carell, who co-starred in the comedy with Ferrell and Paul Rudd, wa nts Paramount bosses to rethink their decision.
He tells EmpireOnline.com, "I selfishly want to do it again just for th e fun of it. And I think it could be as playful and as fun as the origina l."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:09 pm

A representative for Filipino pop sensation CHARICE has clarified reports the teenager has undergone Botox injections ahead of her appearance on h it show GLEE, insisting the procedure was for medical purposes.
The 18 year old, who was discovered by Oprah Winfrey, was alleged to ha ve had the face-freezing injections last week (ends16Jul10) to ensure she looked "fresh on camera", according to celebrity cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo.
Belo recently revealed the singer wanted to make her "naturally round f ace" look more narrow before she begins filming on the TV musical later t his month (Jul10).

The rep tells UsMagazine.com, "It did not hurt; it relieved the pain. Y ou’ve seen her face - she doesn’t have a wrinkle in it so she wouldn’t ne ed it for cosmetic purposes.
"The Glee people are thrilled with the way she looks which is why she g ot the part." However, Charice admits she is feeling the pressure to perform well on the programme.
She says, "All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is sh e good enough to pit against (Lea Michele’s character) Rachel Berry? So o f course there is tremendous pressure." The singer’s appearance on Glee had been shrouded in mystery until now - her manager Grace Mendoza had previously confirmed the role, only for C harice to insist she was confused.

MURRAY REGRETS GARFIELD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:09 pm

Funnyman BILL MURRAY regrets lending his voice to animated film GARFIELD to work with his idol, comedy writer JOEL COEN - because he realised too late the part was written by a different JOEL COHEN.
The actor admits he jumped at the chance to play the fat cat in the 200 4 live-action film, loosely based on the Jim Davis comic strip Garfield - when he thought one half of the Oscar-winning Coen brothers filmmaking d uo was attached to the script.
But he didn’t realise until it was too late that another writer with a similar name had actually worked on the screenplay - and it wasn’t funny.
Murray tells America’s GQ magazine, "I thought it would be kind of fun, because doing a voice is challenging, and I’d never done that. Plus, I l ooked at the script, and it said, "So-and-so and Joel Cohen.’ And I thoug ht: ‘Christ, well, I love those Coens!’ They’re funny. So I sorta read a few pages of it and thought, ‘Yeah, I’d like to do that.’ "Finally I went out to L.A. to record my lines… and the lines got wor se and worse. And I said, ‘Okay, you better show me the whole rest of the movie, so we can see what we’re dealing with.’ So I sat down and watched the whole thing, and I kept saying, ‘Who the hell cut this this thing? W ho did this? What the f**k was Coen thinking? And then they explained it to me: it wasn’t written by Joel Coen." Joel and his brother Ethan Coen are famed for their critically-acclaime d movies Burn After Reading, No Country For Old Men and A Serious Man. (J
