Oscar winner SANDRA BULLOCK has obtained a temporary restraining order ag ainst a man she accused of stalking her seven years ago.
The actress maintains Thomas James Weldon, who has been the subject of previous court orders to stay away from her, has become a nuisance again, and, on Monday (19Jul10), her attorneys obtained a protective order agai nst him on her behalf.
Recently divorced Bullock first obtained a restraining order against We ldon in 2003, but it expired in 2009.
He voluntarily entered a mental institution in Tennessee, but, accordin g to the court filing, Weldon turned up in an emergency room in Wyoming l ast month (Jun10) and told hospital staff he had driven from Tennessee in an attempt to meet Bullock at her home in nearby Jackson Hole, after com municating with the actress telepathically.
Court documents suggest Weldon has sent the actress numerous e-mails an d faxes in recent years, but he has never met the star.
The new restraining order seeks to block Weldon from trying to contact Bullock at any of her homes and on any of her movie sets. It also seeks t o protect her adopted son Louis.

Rap superstar SNOOP DOGG has shut down production of his clothing line Th e Rich and Infamous amid reports of poor sales.
The Drop It Like It’s Hot hitmaker, real name Calvin Broadus, debuted t he range, a collaboration with the Robert Thorn Company, in 2008, but the collection was hit hard by the downturn in the economy in 2009.
Last year (09) he revealed the recession had hit his line hard, and he and his partners were struggling "to do what we’re doing and try to keep the prices a little lower".
But the business has failed to recover and Snoop Dogg recently disconti nued the fashion range, according to Wooha.com.

Country star DEANA CARTER’s father, FRED CARTER, JR., who played on BOB D YLAN’s LAY LADY LAY and SIMON & GARFUNKEL’s THE BOXER, has died at the ag e of 76.
The revered session guitarist passed away on Saturday (17Jul10).
Carter started out playing with the likes of Roy Orbison, Ronnie Hawkin s, and Conway Twitty and became a sought-after session musician in the 19 60s and 1970s.
Deana Carter’s 2007 album The Chain was a tribute to her dad and featur ed a collection of hits the guitarist had played on.

Singer NATALIE COLE is set to reveal all about her successful kidney tran splant operation and the tragic death of her sister in an upcoming memoir ..
The Grammy Award-winning jazz singer is teaming up with author David Ri tz, who helped Ray Charles and Marvin Gaye to pen memoirs, for a new book , entitled Love Brought Me Back.
The 60 year old, who has struggled with kidney disease, will chronicle the transplant that saved her life on 20 May, 2009, and the the death of her sister Cookie, which tragically occurred the very day she had the ope ration.
She will also will share memories of her father, late crooner Nat ‘King ‘ Cole.
The book is due to hit shelves in November (10).

Singer/songwriter LEE BRICE has made country chart history in the U.S. ag ain after crawling to the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs countdown after 46 weeks.
Brice co-wrote Garth Brooks’ More Than a Memory, which became the first single to debut at number one on the chart, and now he can claim the slo west route to the top spot after finally landing the peak with Love Like Crazy.

CARLOS SANTANA returned to the site of the Woodstock festival for the fir st time since his career-defining debut there in 1969 at the weekend (17J ul10) for a nostalgic concert in front of 15,000 fans.
The guitar great was briefly overcome with emotion midway through his s et when the weight of the past caught up with him and he told fans, "All of us who were here remember the magic. Only love can conquer hate. This is Woodstock. This is the place where miracles can happen… This is grou nd zero of peace and love." Santana hadn’t even released an album when they stole the show at Woods tock in 1969, after agreeing to take an early time slot when massive crow ds heading to the festival prevented several acts from arriving on time.
Before his show with Steve Winwood on Saturday, Santana toured the Beth el Woods Center for the Arts in New York state, which includes an interac tive Woodstock museum and visited the monument where the festival stage o nce stood.
According to RollingStone.com, he also watched his band’s legendary Woo dstock festival performance in a screening room - footage that played beh ind him on a big screen as he performed later.

BJORK has written an open letter to Britain’s Financial Times in a bid to raise awareness about an environmental battle she is spearheading in her native Iceland.
The All is Full of Love singer is among leading environmentalists oppos ed to the Icelandic Government’s decision to allow top Canadian power com pany Magma Energy to invest further in the island’s geothermal power indu stry.
She writes, "This is something the nation should keep," calling the dea l something that "smells like the leftovers from the corruption that brou ght us the bank crash", referring to the 2008/2009 world economic crisis.
Bjork will perform at a press conference in Reykjavik, where fellow act ivists will produce a national petition aimed at blocking the deal that w ould see Magma own 98.5 per cent of Iceland’s biggest energy company HS O rka.
Under the terms of the takeover, the Canadian company will be allowed t o utilise part of Iceland’s geothermal resources for up to 130 years.

British Oscar nominee SALLY HAWKINS is to make her Broadway debut opposit e U.S. thespian CHERRY JONES in a new production of GEORGE BERNARD SHAW’s MRS. WARREN’S PROFESSION.
The Happy-Go-Lucky star will play Vivie Warren, the daughter of Jones’ character, in the stage show, directed by Tony Award-winner Doug Hughes a t the American Airlines Theatre in New York.
The play will begin previews at the beginning of September (10) and ope n officially on 3 October (10).
Mrs. Warren’s Profession premiered on Broadway in 1905.

Veteran actress ZSA ZSA GABOR has undergone successful surgery to replace the hip she broke when she fell out of bed at her home on Saturday (17Ju l10).
The Hungarian-born movie veteran suffered several broken bones and was taken to UCLA hospital by ambulance following the accident.
Her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, tells the Associated Press the actress was in surgery for three-and-a-half hours on Monday morning (18J ul10), and her surgeon has confirmed there were no complications.
The 93-year-old star has been confined to her bed since a 2002 car acci dent left her partially paralysed. She sparked fears for her ailing healt h in January (10), when she was photographed in a wheelchair looking shoc kingly frail and weak.

Pop superstar MADONNA has been cited for noise pollution by London author ities after staff at her home in the British capital threw a party in the singer’s absence.
The Material Girl was out of the country on 27 June (10), when official s from Westminister City Council were called to investigate neighbours’ n oise complaints.
They found the music and singing coming from the property loud enough t o be considered "statutory nuisance" and an official notice was posted th rough the letterbox, prompting Madonna’s staff to put an end to the party antics.
But their raucous activities have landed their famous boss in trouble w ith local councillors - leaving her facing a possible court case and a fi ne of up to $5,000 (=C2=A33,330) if she is cited for similar offences in the future.
Councillor Ed Argar says, "We take the issue of noise pollution very se riously and treat every case alike and fairly, regardless of who owns the property concerned.
"If people want to hold a party, regardless of the time of day or night , they need to show some common courtesy to their neighbours, who should not have to pay the price for others’ selfish behaviour." However, a Westminister City Council spokesperson insists the case is u nlikely to end up in court.

ALICIA KEYS and RIHANNA’s bids to rally support for cancer-stricken Broad way star SHANNON TAVAREZ have paid off - hundreds of fans have signed up as bone marrow donors to help find a match for the child star.
The 11-year-old actress, who played the young Nala onstage in hit music al The Lion King, was diagnosed with Acute Leukaemia in April (10) and is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant to survive.
Her emotional cancer fight struck a chord with the two R&B stars, who c alled on their supporters to register as potential donors so Tavarez and others like her can have a chance at overcoming the disease.
And their public appeals appear to have worked - around 385 people atte nded a bone marrow drive in New York on Sunday (18Jul10) to register as d onors and offer their support to young Tavarez.

Rapper LUDACRIS was honoured at a diabetes fundraiser in Los Angeles on S unday (18Jul10) in recognition of his charity work.
The hip-hop star performed a special gig at the city’s Nokia Live Club as part of three days of festivities organised in aid of non-profit organ isation Developing Options, which helps improve the quality of life for y oungsters suffering from the condition.

Grammy-winning Russian pianist/conductor MIKHAIL PLETNEV has returned to Thailand to protest his innocence over allegations he raped a 14-year-old boy in the country.
The founder of the Russian National Orchestra was arrested by Thai poli ce in the resort of Pattaya earlier this month (Jul10) and charged with r ape.
He was also hit with another count of appearing in compromising photogr aphs with several other underage boys.
Pletnev was released on $9,000 (=C2=A36,000) bond but he returned to a Pattaya court on Monday (19Jul10), as part of the terms of his bail, whic h require him to report to officials every 12 days.
Pletnev addressed the media before his court appearance to insist the a ccusations were "not true".
He said, "I say again these allegations are not true. I have always sta ted that I will assist the police in every way I can with their enquiries into the allegations that have been made against me.
"I also state, contrary to media reports, that during the police search of my home, nothing connected with the allegations, no photographs or ot her visual materials were found on the computer.
"(Since my return) I hope everyone now accepts that I am a man of honou r and that I am a man of my word." Pletnev, who won a Grammy Award in 2005 for an arrangement of Prokofiev ’s Cinderella, faces up to 20 years in jail and a fine of $1,200 (=C2=A38 00) if convicted.

Parents-to-be ALICIA KEYS and rap producer SWIZZ BEATZ will wed in a lavi sh ceremony on a yacht this weekend (24-25Jul10), according to an online report.
The No One hitmaker announced her pregnancy and engagement to Beatz in May (10) and their first child is due later this year (10).
But the happy couple is planning to welcome the tot into the world as h usband and wife and will marry onboard a 200-foot (60.96-metre) yacht off the coast of the Caribbean, reports MediaTakeOut.com.
A source tells the website, "We’re being picked up in Miami and then we ‘re going to the Caribbean. I don’t know exactly where, but it’s very exc iting." And the wedding celebration is guaranteed to be a star-studded one - Ke ys and Beatz, real name Kasseem Dean, are close friends with hip-hop supe rcouple Jay-Z and Beyonce and media mogul Oprah Winfrey.
It will be Keys’ first child and marriage. Beatz was previously married to singer Mashonda and they have a son together.
