HAINES SWEARS OFF AUTEURS REUNION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:33 pm

British rocker LUKE HAINES has vowed never to reform his 1990s band THE A UTEURS, insisting rock reunions ruin a group’s legacy.
The Britpop star has pursued various projects including a solo career s ince The Auteurs’ final studio album, How I Learned to Love the Bootboys, in 1999.
Following the release of his 2009 autobiography, Bad Vibes: Britpop And My Part In Its Downfall - in which he documented the bitter breakdown of the band - Haines received several big-money offers to reform.
But he is adamant The Auteurs will never return - citing Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, and New York Dolls star David Johansen as examples of rockers who p ut him off organising a band reunion.
He tells CultureDeluxe.com, "After Bad Vibes came out I actually got of fered a lot of money to put the Auteurs back together for a few shows. Ca n you imagine? Did they read the book? The Auteurs - and I’m sure any ex- members who chance upon this will be relieved to hear - will never reform .. Iggy, Lou, Johansen, et al, you have all p**sed upon your considerable legacies. Shame."

MICHAELS LINKS TONY AWARDS ACCIDENT TO BRAIN HAEMORRHAGE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:33 pm

BRET MICHAELS is convinced his freak accident at the 2009 Tony Awards "pr obably" contributed to his recent brain haemorrhage.
The Poison star was left with a fractured nose and a split lip after sc enery fell on him as he left the stage at the New York ceremony in June 2 009.
Ten months later, Michaels was admitted to hospital with bleeding on th e brain and although there is no conclusive proof the accident caused the health scare, the star is adamant the two events must be connected.
He tells CNN.com, "Two different doctors at Vanderbilt (hospital in Ten nessee) looked at it, and they said, ‘Well, without a doubt, you broke yo ur nose.’ There were a couple things that happened that were superficial, and who cares, you know what I’m saying? But the other side of it is - l et’s tell the truth. Insurance companies immediately want to clear it und er the table because most head injuries don’t really present themselves o r show for what could be two years, a year - you don’t really know.
"But can I say specifically that I know that that’s what caused it? No.
I could never say that’s what did it. But did it contribute to it? Proba bly."

DEF LEPPARD TAKES A YEAR OFF

Rockers DEF LEPPARD have confirmed they are taking a one-year hiatus beca use life in the band has become so "stressful".
The Hysteria hitmakers prompted rumours of a split late last year (09) when they cancelled 23 dates on their North American tour, citing "unfore seen personal matters".
Frontman Joe Elliott later revealed they axed the tour so he could fly home to be with his pregnant wife ahead of the birth of their first child .. And now the singer has confirmed the band is not planning to work toget her for at least another year because they all need some time to recupera te and focus on other projects.
He tells Britain’s Metro, "We’re taking a year off. I’m doing this (new band Down ‘N Outz) because I have the time. After you have a hit like Hy steria and you’re signed to the corporate machine it becomes an albatross around your neck. As much as our music is anthemic rock ‘n’ roll it’s a business at the end of the day. It’s stressful and gets harder each time you make a record. No one’s comparing this to Hysteria, it’s got nothing to do with it. It’s a refreshing change. It’s like being a teenager in a 50-year-old body."
