KEYS AND BEATZ TO WED ‘SOON’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 pm

ALICIA KEYS’ fiance SWIZZ BEATZ has laughed off reports the couple is pla nning to wed on a yacht in the Caribbean this weekend (26-27Jul10), but c oncedes the nuptials will happen "soon".
The singer, who is five months pregnant with their first child, is expe cted to marry her partner over the summer (10) and was rumoured to have p lanned a secret ceremony at sea for the pair to exchange vows away from t he glare of the spotlight.
Online gossips were sent into a spin with reports the wedding was due t o be held this weekend, but Beatz reveals no one has correctly guessed th e date yet.
He tells America’s OK! magazine, "Well it’s not this weekend… It’s so on! (But) not this weekend." The producer also reveals he has been heavily involved in planning the ceremony, but he’s adamant it will not be a "gimmicky" showbiz wedding.
He adds, "Yeah, you know, I’m a planner! I like getting into the detail of things… (I like) being involved with the wedding. I’m not the perso n who sits back and goes, ‘Okay, well I’ll just show up’. I’m actually sp earheading certain plans but it’s a nice blend, a nice partnership.
"(It will be) an amazing day. Very intimate. It’s not a superstar weddi ng. It’s not a gimmicky wedding. It’s a true bond of love, you know, that ’s not based on having the most famous person sitting there while you’re doing it. It’s about having the closest people who really understand you as a person and that really have love for you. So it’s a small situation.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 pm

JENNIFER ANISTON has explained why she changed the name of her new perfum e just days before its launch - she discovered a fragrance with a similar title was already on sale.
The former Friends actress spent months deliberating over the name of h er debut scent and finally settled on calling it Lolavie, which means ‘la ughing at life’.
But as the launch date approached, marketing bosses realised the name w as too similar to a fragrance by fashion designer Marc Jacobs, called Lol a.
Speaking at the launch of the scent in London on Wednesday (21Jul10), A niston admits it was too late to rebrand the perfume with a different nam e, so she decided to call it simply ‘Jennifer Aniston’.
She tells Reuters, "It turned out as we were getting close to the launc h, there was something out there that was very similar and it was just go ing to get very confusing in the marketplace. And at such a late hour, I didn’t want to postpone the launch so the only thing we could really clea r was my name." Aniston recently told Women’s Wear Daily magazine why she picked Lolavi e: "It’s a long story and honestly it’s too personal to tell, but it has a special significance."

PIPER SLAMMED FOR SMOKING NEAR SON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:15 pm

British actress BILLIE PIPER has sparked outrage amongst anti-smoking cam paigners after she was pictured lighting up while holding her young son.
The Secret Diary of a Call Girl star was photographed puffing on a ciga rette as she sat with her 21-month old son Winston in a pub garden in Lon don this week (beg19Jul10).
The images, which showed the tot apparently close to a cloud of smoke, have infuriated health advocates, who are adamant that exposure to tobacc o fumes puts children’s health at risk.
Amanda Sandford, of campaign group Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), tells WENN, "There is no doubt that second hand smoke harms children and it is inappropriate to be smoking while holding a child… Second hand sm oke seriously damages a child’s health, raising the risk of asthma, bronc hitis and chronic ear infections. The second reason is that the more a ch ild sees adults around them, the more likely they are to try smoking them selves as they get older. Parents who quit smoking are therefore not only doing themselves a favour but their children will benefit too." (LR/WN/Z

GOODIE’S LAWYER EXPLAINS MYSTERY SENTENCING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 am

BIG BOI’s rap affiliate KHUJO GOODIE’s lawyer has spoken out to clear up confusion over the star’s sentencing and subsequent speedy release from j ail earlier this month (Jul10).
Details of The Goodie Mob star’s legal troubles have been scarce, and i t was unclear what offence the rapper had been sentenced for when he walk ed free from prison just days after he was handed a two-year stint in Jun e (10).
OutKast star Big Boi added to the confusion by suggesting his pal’s law yers appealed the jail term and won, leading to his release.
Now Goodie’s lawyer, Daniel Kane, has explained that the hip-hop star h ad been convicted on three felony charges from two separate incidents - o ne for possession of a firearm and another for marijuana possession, repo rts AllHipHop.com.
According to Kane, the judge presumed Goodie was a convicted felon due to a 1990 gun charge, which was legally void and should have been removed from the star’s record, therefore making him a first-time offender.
Kane explains, "The mistake was that they thought he was a convicted fe lon because they thought he was convicted in 1990. So I went back into th e archives and got the 1990 case, researched it, pulled the records and p resented them to the district attorney and the judge in Henry County and said he could never be a felon in possession of a firearm - there were th ree counts - because he was never a convicted felon. It was a first offen der case, and the court agreed." The oversight meant the rapper could walk free from prison. A new sente ncing hearing is due to take place next month (Aug10).

AFFLECK BUILT PANIC ROOM IN FORMER HOUSE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:30 am

BEN AFFLECK is so paranoid about intruders he built a panic room in his f ormer house, according to the property’s new owner, director KEVIN SMITH.
The filmmaker bought the Good Will Hunting actor’s Hollywood home in 20 03 and was surprised when he first discovered the secret chamber.
Affleck installed a panic room in the house hidden behind a bookcase - featuring a video monitor, phone and a safe.
But Smith was less than impressed with the feature’s dimensions.
He reveals, "He’s showing us around and says, ‘I can’t wait to show you this, when I was building this, I knew you’d love it… He brings me int o this office off the master bedroom, which is now my master bedroom. And in this office is a beautiful bookcase and he says, ‘Watch this.’ "He reaches over and under the bookshelf there is a hidden button ‘clic k’ and the bookshelf pushes back, Batman style. At that point I fully exp ected Ben to say, ‘Let’s go fight crime in Los Angeles!’ But it wasn’t - he says, ‘Dude I built a panic room!’ I couldn’t wait to go into it, I wa s expecting The Bat Cave… It was tiny. It might have been a small bathr oom back in the day.
"The panic room had a safe in it, a video monitor and a phone… in cas e someone came you could hide in there. From the outside, it was very Hol lywood. It was astounding. The moment you got inside…it’s not what you’ re hoping for from Ben Affleck’s secret room. There is not a staircase th at leads you down to a ski boat that takes you onto the bay.
"We don’t even use it any more - it’s filled with our kids’ old Christm as gifts. Plus, no one’s panicked in this house. No one’s trying to come in here and steal me. I’m not Ben Affleck."

Former LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT star VINCENT D’ONOFRIO has signed up to go through the detox program firefighters and police officers who expe rienced the horrors of 9/11 undertake - so he can show his solidarity.
The actor, whose stepfather was a fireman, was among the first wave of celebrities asked to help raise morale at Ground Zero after the 2001 terr orist attacks on New York and he has always felt close to the men and wom en who showed so much courage in the wake of the disaster.

"These guys are exactly like him. They don’t whine, they don’t ask for help and they need it, so I try to ask for help for them.
"When 9/11 happened, the U.S. Marshalls put together a list of people t o come down to Ground Zero to help raise morale when they weren’t finding anybody alive. I was on that list and all I did for 20-something hours w as talk to them. I’m gonna go through the detox program with a bunch of f irefighters and cops in New York just so I know what it’s like.
"It’s a long, expensive thing that takes up to six or seven weeks to ge t through and I’m gonna do it. I heard it’s pretty painful at times becau se releasing these toxins through their bodies puts them through a lot of pain to get it all out and it’s a horror but I have some time now, so I think I’m gonna start the first week of next month." The actor insists he’s so proud of the efforts of the cops and firefigh ters, there’s very little he won’t do for the heroes he met after 9/11, w ho are struggling with the memory of the nightmare.

COWELL SUED FOR MILLIONS BY FAILED TALENT SHOW CONTESTANT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:30 am

A failed talent show contestant who filed an official complaint with U.K.
employment officials against SIMON COWELL is now suing the music mogul f or $3.8 million (=C2=A32.5 million).
Emma Czikai, who suffers cervical spine neuritis, auditioned for Cowell ’s Britain’s Got Talent last year (09) but failed to make it through to t he first round with her rendition of You Raise Me Up.
Czikai claims producers persuaded her to appear on spin-off show Britai n’s Got More Talent, but they didn’t tell viewers she suffers from a spin al condition, making her look like a "fool" and prompting her to make a c omplaint with employment tribunal authorities.
On Wednesday (21Jul10) the 53 year old attended a pre-trial review in L ondon to decide whether the tribunal should move forward - and it was rev ealed she has launched a lawsuit against Cowell and the show’s production company Freemantle Media.
Czikai is seeking damages of $2 million (=C2=A31.3 million) in lost ear nings, $1.5 million (=C2=A31 million) compensation and $450,000 (=C2=A330 0,000) for injuries.
She told the hearing, "The show makes a select number of people very ri ch on the backs of the ordinary man and woman… through backdoor modern slavery, =C2=ADexploitation, =C2=ADhumiliation, =C2=ADdegradation and mod ern-day barbarism with all its inherent cruelty.
"On the day of my audition I saw people leave the stage distressed and upset, feeling humiliated and degraded. Britain’s Got Talent staff goaded people into states of anger, then captured their volatile responses on f ilm." Thomas Linden, a lawyer representing Cowell’s Syco company, insisted th ere is no reason for the tribunal to go ahead - as Czikai was not employe d by the show or the music mogul and that he was unaware of any disabilit y.
The pre-trial review continues.
