Singer MARTHA WAINWRIGHT has had a number of "serious unrequited crushes" in her past - and insists she’s used to chasing men who are "completely unattainable and uninterested".
The folk star admits she has never been popular with the opposite sex a nd as a result she resorted to shamelessly pursuing attached men - includ ing her husband Brad Albetta, who was living with another woman when they fell for one another.
She even named her second album I Know You’re Married But I’ve Got Feel ings Too after noticing the situation recur in her love life.
Wainwright explains, "It’s (the title) about a couple of people whom I’ ve had serious unrequited crushes on. That was a big part of my existence before meeting my husband and even, obviously, at the beginning of that relationship. I have a tendency to run after people who are completely un attainable and uninterested and make a complete fool of myself.
"Basically, I was not that pretty a girl and I was never pursued as a t eenager or a young woman, so I was used to having no shame and trying to get people to love me. Well, there’s always love there. I might not be be autiful but I’m interesting!"

MEAT LOAF was stunned when he was offered a bumper $17,000 (=C2=A311,300) pay cheque to star in THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW - until he won an ev en bigger jackpot while gambling during a break from filming.
The singer made his big screen debut as Eddie in the 1975 comedy and wa s pleased with the big salary - but he couldn’t believe his luck when he scooped $25,500 (=C2=A317,000) in a casino while filming the musical in L ondon.
He says, "My first ever film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, was filmed in London in 1975. It was amazing working with Susan Sarandon, Tim Curry and the rest of the cast. What an experience. I was only young, 28 years old, and it was a life-changing event for me. I got paid $17,000 for it, which was a lot of money at the time.
"Then one night I went to the Playboy Club with Lou Adler, who was the film’s producer, and I won =C2=A317,000 in the casino. I only walked in w ith =C2=A340 and all of a sudden I was rich. That money enabled me to liv e in London for a while after the movie ended."

Metal rockers PARADOX have cancelled "all live activities" for the near f uture without giving fans any explanation.
The veteran German rockers have been hit with another setback after par ting ways with guitarist Kai Pasemann and drummer Roland Jahoda earlier t his year (10).
A statement from the band read: "We had no choice, because we found out we have a different view on how to reach our goals." Now singer/guitarist Charly Stenhauer has sent shockwaves through the b and’s fan community with the troubling announcement, although he insists the band’s next studio album will be released in February (11), as planne d.
Stenhauer tells Blabbermouth.net: "Paradox is forced to cancel all live activities in the future. I’m still writing new material to release one more record for my loyal fans in 2011 via AFM Records." The release of Paradox’s forthcoming album is set to coincide with the group’s 25th anniversary.

Singer KATHARINE MCPHEE wants to follow in the footsteps of her fellow AM ERICAN IDOL star JORDIN SPARKS and hit the Broadway stage - but she insis ts on waiting for the perfect part.
The pop star admits she has turned down a string of offers in recent ye ars but she’s still keen to work in New York theatre.
She tells America’s OK! magazine, "I have never done Broadway. I studie d musical theater, so I have a background for it. There=E2=80=99s been op portunities, but not quite the right match for me yet. But I would love t o do Broadway one day.=E2=80=9D Sparks is set to make her Broadway debut in hit musical In The Heights this August (10) for a 12-week run.

British rocker RITCHIE BLACKMORE has become a dad again at 65 - the music ian has welcomed a daughter with his singer/songwriter wife, CANDICE NIGH T.
The former Deep Purple guitarist and Rainbow frontman welcomed Autumn E smerelda with 39-year-old Night on 27 May (10), reports Blabbermouth.net.
The couple, which married in 2008, currently perform together as folk r ock duo Blackmore’s Night.
And Blackmore claims the happy couple’s the new addition is already ser ving as "inspiration" for the band’s new CD, Autumn Sky, set for release later this year (10).
Autumn is Blackmore’s second child - he also has a son with his first w ife, Margrit Volkmar, who was born in 1964.

Rapper LUPE FIASCO is overwhelmed by the support he’s received from fans who have launched a petition lobbying his record label bosses to release his long-delayed album, LASERS.
The Superstar hitmaker completed work on the follow-up to The Cool last year (09), but the disc has been left in limbo after Atlantic Records ex ecutives pushed back its expected December 2009 release and the project h as now been put on hold indefinitely.
Two infuriated fans recently created an online petition urging Atlantic bosses to deliver the disc, insisting devotees have been waiting for Las ers "for over a good year now".
On the petition, one of the creators, Richard Derrick Barker, fumes, "E nough is enough. We demand that you stop playing around and give us the a lbum that we have been highly anticipating since the release of The Cool.
" The campaign has received in excess of 9,000 signatures to date, and Fi asco is stunned by the determination of his devotees.
During a recent interview with the U.K.’s BBC 1Xtra DJ Semtex, he said, "You got kids calling up the record label. I feel great knowing that I h ave that kind of support. This is some straight, grassroots, Lupe Fiasco fans…
"I think it’s a good look. I thoroughly support it. I’m definitely not backing away from that. I think it’s beyond us now. I think it’s beyond w hatever situations that I got with the label and whatever situations the y got with me or the music. The fans are speaking above both of us. Even for me, it’s kind of a wake up, and I think for the (label) it’s definite ly a wake up." But Fiasco refuses to attack Atlantic executives for holding back his w ork, insisting he’s put their past troubles behind him in an effort to si mply release the music for fans.

Former UGLY BETTY star AMERICA FERRERA is in no rush to wed fiance RYAN P IERS WILLIAMS, insisting planning their big day is the last thing on her mind.
The actress became engaged to Williams in June (10), shortly before the y flew out to Iraq for a morale-boosting visit to U.S. troops serving in the Middle East.
The couple has since been busy promoting new movie The Dry Land, which was written and directed by Williams and stars Ferrera.
But their hectic work schedule means the stars’ nuptials have taken a b ackseat to their new release.
Ferrera tells People.com, "If there is a scale between 0 and 10, I’m at like negative 10. I haven’t gone there and (am) not thinking about it (w edding planning). We got engaged and then left for Iraq the next day.

Actress ALI LARTER fled Los Angeles for Europe during the first few month s of her pregnancy because she "wasn’t ready" to share her happy news wit h the world.
The Obsessed star and her husband, writer/actor Hayes MacArthur, announ ced Larter was expecting their first child last week (20Jul10), less than a year after exchanging vows (Aug09).
But Larter, 34, admits she kept the exciting news under wraps for month s before stepping out with her growing baby bump, because she wanted to e njoy the early stages of her pregnancy in private.
She says, "It was a very private time for me and my husband and somethi ng that I just wasn’t ready to share, so we actually left the country for a while.
"This was something that I wasn’t ready to share yet. So we came back f rom Europe, and I said to my husband, ‘I just want to go to lunch with my girlfriends. I just want to live my life.’ I was four months (pregnant) and it was just time to start living my life." The baby is due this winter (10).

Director ROMAN POLANSKI has returned to his home in France for the first time since his release from house arrest in Switzerland.
The Rosemary’s Baby filmmaker regained his freedom earlier this month ( 12Jul10) after Swiss officials turned down U.S. prosecutors’ requests to extradite him on a 33-year-old child sex charge.
Polanski had been restricted to his luxury chalet in Gstaad since he wa s taken into custody in Zurich last September (09) en route to a film fes tival.
He made his first public appearance as a free man on 17 July (10) when he attended a music festival in Switzerland to show his support for his s inger wife, Emmanuelle Seigner, and now the couple has returned to his ad opted France.
The director was spotted on the streets of Paris on Sunday (25Jul10), w hen he accompanied Seigner and their son Elvis to a restaurant.
Polanski fled America and set up home in France on the eve of sentencin g after pleading guilty to a charge of unlawful sex with a 13-year-old gi rl in 1977.

BRITTANY MURPHY’s mother has blasted "absurd" reports suggesting mould in her daughter’s marital home may have contributed to the untimely deaths of the actress and her husband SIMON MONJACK.
Health officials at California’s Department of Public Health have alleg edly launched an investigation into claims the couple’s respiratory healt h could have been affected by the growth of mould in the Hollywood Hills mansion they shared before tragically dying within five months of each ot her.
The Clueless star’s mother, Sharon Murphy, who also lived at the proper ty, is said to have initially refused the Los Angeles County Coroner entr ance to the house to inspect the mould while looking into the actress’ de ath in December (09).
TMZ.com reported at the weekend (25Jul10) that Sharon had now agreed to a survey by Public Heath officers following Monjack’s shock passing in M ay (10). The official cause of death for both husband and wife was listed as pneumonia and anaemia in their separate coroner’s reports.
But Sharon has angrily refuted the accusations, insisting she has been nothing but cooperative with authorities in recent months.
She tells People.com, "I have never been personally asked by the corone r or anyone from the Health Department to come and inspect my home for mo uld. In the last eight months, I have been through the most unimaginable events, which no one could ever fathom.
"I have and will continue to be very cooperative and fully comply with any such request. It’s absurd that this kind of misinformation is being r eported by the media." Her attorney, Michael Schiff, adds, "To the best of my knowledge, there has been no evidence of mould at the Murphy residence."

SNOOP DOGG cancelled a show in Illinois on Friday night (23Jul10) because he "didn’t feel safe" driving to the venue through a storm.
The hip-hop star was due to perform at John Barleycorn restaurant and c lub in Schaumburg, Illinois but axed his appearance at the last minute af ter bad weather hit the state and hampered his trip from Chicago.
Manager Kevin Hoy tells the Daily Herald, "(Snoop’s manager told us the rapper) didn’t feel safe driving in from (Chicago). We feel awful for ou r customers. We’re trying to get him back." Fans waited hours for the star to show up, and when the cancellation wa s announced, violence erupted among the 850-strong crowd, prompting organ isers to call police.
NBC5 Chicago reports cops were called to calm the crowd and no arrests were made.

MARTHA WAINWRIGHT was devastated after learning her father LOUDON’s song I’D RATHER BE LONELY was written about her - but she retaliated with her own vengeful track years later.
Folk star Loudon Wainwright III recorded the track when Martha was just 14 and moved in with him in the U.S. after living with her mum, folk sin ger/songwriter Kate McGarrigle, in Montreal, Canada.
The singer admits she had always "felt terribly sorry" for the woman he r dad sang to in the track - until discovering it was written out of frus tration towards her.
She recalls, "That hurt. Dad had taken a year off and suggested we live together. So I moved in with him in New York and it was a disaster. I wa s 14, which is a disaster for anyone - I was getting into smoking, drinki ng and boys - and he was 45, so he was probably having a mid-life crisis.
Anyway, I wrote my own horrible song (as revenge)." Martha released the song, Bl**dy Mother F**ing A**hole, on her self-tit led debut in 2005.

PHIL LYNOTT’s only son has spoken of his happiness after he was finally a cknowledged by the late THIN LIZZY star’s family - seven years after his story hit headlines.
Irish sculptor Macdaragh Lambe was born in 1968 after his mother enjoye d a brief romance with rocker Lynott before he shot to fame as the legend ary group’s frontman.
Lambe was given up for adoption and didn’t discover his heritage until he eventually traced his birth mother.
The story of Lynott’s secret son hit headlines in 2003, but his existen ce was never publicly acknowledged by Lynott’s mother Philomena until thi s weekend (24-25Jul10) when she confirmed Lambe as her grandson in an int erview.
She told Britain’s Mail on Sunday, "I can answer you straightforward. Y es, he is Philip’s son. Oh yeah, without a doubt. He has the same thumbs, like Philip used to slam the bass guitar, and eyes." And Lambe admits he’s delighted to have finally had his story confirmed ..
He tells the Irish Independent, "This is the first public acknowledgeme nt the Lynott family have given me. I’m delighted, but more so for my son .. It’s going to be a lot easier for him now to say who he is." Lynott died in 1986 after suffering heart failure at the age of 36. (LR

JUSTIN BIEBER gave his online fans a fright on Saturday (24Jul10) by post ing a picture of himself wearing a prison jumpsuit with his hands behind his back.
The startling image of the 16 year old, uploaded to Twitter.com, saw th e star being led away by a security guard and was captioned, "I told you I was a BAD MAN!!" But the singer revealed the shot was taken while he filmed a guest appe arance on hit crime show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
The Baby hitmaker was on set over the weekend (24-25Jul10) shooting his role as a troubled teen for an upcoming episode, and he went on to gush about his "amazing" experience.
