ARCADE FIRE ALBUM INSPIRED BY LOVE LETTERS
ARCADE FIRE star WIN BUTLER has based the band’s new music on a series of love letters he wrote to his childhood sweetheart in high school.
The Canadian rockers are set to release their fourth record, The Suburb s, next week (beg02Aug10) and Butler has revealed he took inspiration fro m a teenage love affair to write some of the lyrics.
And Butler admits new track We Used To Wait is solely based on his post al romance.
He tells Britain’s NME magazine, "In high school I had a letter-writing romance with a girl. I was trying to remember that time… waiting an en tire summer, pretty much half a year, the anxiousness of waiting for lett ers to arrive.
"All day every day there’s almost this cloud of feeling hanging over ev erything. We’d (his family) be in Maine, I’d walk down to the post office and come back=E2=80=A6 the whole day was consumed by that feeling." (LR/
