MINOGUE NEEDS A ‘CONFIDENCE’ BOOST
DANNII MINOGUE is terrified about her impending pop comeback, insisting s he lacks the "confidence" to step back into the spotlight.
Kylie Minogue’s younger sister is gearing up to release new tracks foll owing a seven-year hiatus from recording and she has been wracked with fe ars over what critics will say about her new material.
The Australian singer has spent the last three years mentoring wannabe pop stars on Simon Cowell’s U.K. TV talent show The X Factor and she admi ts she could do with her own coach ahead of her comeback.
Minogue says, "I’ve got to get some confidence with it and I don’t have that now.
"I think I’ve copped quite a bit of flak (criticism) over the years for the music: ‘It’s not as good as your sister’s music’ or ‘It’s not charte d this’ or ‘It should have done that’, but I’ve enjoyed it and I’ve learn ed a lot.
"It’s been pushed back to (the bottom of) my agenda for a long time. Si nce X Factor came on the scene, I’ve been heavily involved in the mentori ng of others and helping their music careers. Returning to singing myself is kind of scary because it’s like getting back on the horse." (PAW/WNTE
