LANE ‘REMORSEFUL’ OVER DUI SENTENCE
Rocker JANI LANE has opened up about his jail sentence for driving under the influence (DUI), insisting he’s "extremely remorseful" but he will "b e back".
The former Warrant frontman has been sentenced to 120 days in prison af ter pleading no contest to DUI following a May (10) arrest for crashing i nto a parked car while driving in Woodland Hills, California.
Lane has publicly thanked his family for supporting him through the try ing time and the rocker insists he has learned from the "wake-up call".
In a statement he says, "I’m extremely remorseful about how this has af fected my family, friends and fans. I have done a ton of soul searching. This is not a situation I ever dreamed of finding myself in, but here I a m. I will walk through this and take it as a wake-up call.
"I believe everything happens for a reason. This comes at a time when I am writing some of the best music of my life. I intend to ‘man up,’ get through this and release something new in the fall-winter of this year…
"I want to thank all my friends and fans who have expressed their amazi ng support, and especially my wife and children, who continue to surround me with love. This is one of the most trying times and yet enlightening that I’ve ever faced. I’ll be back… and more determined than ever." In addition to the jail stint, Lane’s driving license has been taken aw ay for three years and he has been ordered to complete a 30-month alcohol education program.
He is expected to surrender for prison on 27 July (10).
