CRACKNELL HOSPITALISED WITH FRACTURED SKULL
British Olympian-turned-TV adventurer JAMES CRACKNELL is in a "stable con dition" in hospital after suffering a fractured skull in a horrific traff ic accident in the U.S.
The double gold medal-winning rower was cycling through Arizona filming a new show for the Discovery Channel when he was in collision with a tru ck early on Tuesday morning (20Jul10).
The sportsman suffered a fractured skull, bruising to the brain and a n asty gash to his head in the collision, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
He was transported to hospital where he remains in a stable condition, according to a spokesperson for the Discovery Channel.
A statement from the TV channel reads, "James was taken to hospital whe re is being treated for a head injury. He is conscious and his condition is stable; doctors have said he is making good progress. His wife and fam ily are at his side as he continues to recover."
