Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:33 pm

Comedian STEVE CARELL is urging Broadway bosses to consider producing ANC HORMAN the musical, as a way to get movie executives back on board for a big screen sequel.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, starring Will Ferrell in the tit le role, was a box office hit when it was released in 2004.
But plans for a sequel were shelved by Paramount executives after they rejected director Adam McKay’s $60 million (=C2=A340 million) request for funds.
Carell, who co-starred in the comedy with Ferrell and Paul Rudd, recent ly admitted he hasn’t given up on Anchorman 2 - and he’s hoping McKay and Ferrell’s idea for a Broadway run will prompt Paramount bosses to rethin k their decision.
He says, "Adam McKay and Will - they had an idea… that we’d do it as a Broadway musical with the original cast and… we would develop bits an d things within the show. And then at the end of the Broadway run we woul d go shoot a movie. That was the idea.
"I would love to do it… maybe one day."
