ASSAULT CHARGES AGAINST RAPPER BANKS DISMISSED
Rapper LLOYD BANKS has had assault charges filed against him in Canada di smissed.
The G-Unit star, real name Christopher Lloyd, and three of his associat es were taken into custody by police in Ontario in January (10) on suspic ion of beating up club promoter Chris Hines.
Hines claimed Banks showed up 90 minutes late to play a gig at the NV n ightclub and was upset to discover many fans had already left. Banks is t hen believed to have cut his set short, prompting an argument between the rapper and Hines over his booking fee.
The promoter alleged he was later confronted by a group of four men, in cluding Banks, upon his return to his hotel room and the reported attack left him needing hospital treatment for his injuries.
Banks denied the claims and Justice Michael Epstein ruled in his favour last week (ends16Jul10) after one of the other suspects, Nicklas Sloane, pleaded guilty to assault.
Sloane was fined $2,500 (=C2=A31,670), prompting the judge to dismiss a ll charges against Banks and his two other defendants.
