GARY COLEMAN’s remains were cremated privately in Utah on Thursday (17Jun 10), according to the lawyer for his estate.
The Diff’rent Strokes star specified in his 2005 will that he did not w ant to have a funeral service, and his body was cremated in accordance wi th his wishes at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary in Salt Lake City on Thursd ay afternoon.
Robert L. Jeffs, a lawyer representing the late actor’s estate, tells E TOnline.com, "The proceeding was conducted in accordance with Mr. Coleman ’s desires as expressed in his Will, that no funeral service, wake, or ot her ceremony (was held to) memorialise his passing." Coleman’s ashes will be securely stored away by Jeffs until a final dec ision is made on who will take control of the star’s estate.
The attorney is overseeing Coleman’s estate while his ex-wife Shannon P rice battles Anna Gray, an old friend and business partner of the actor, for control.
Jeffs will remain in charge until the validity of the two women’s claim s are determined.
Gray recently revealed she is organising a private memorial for the tra gic star to celebrate his life, along with his TV brother, actor Todd Bri dges.

According to the researchers, although Billie Jean spent seven weeks at number one in America - one week longer than Say Say Say - the McCartney duet spent more time in the top 10.

Cult rockers BRITISH SEA POWER have become the latest act to catch World Cup fever and record a soccer anthem.
The group has recorded Football (Kick it in the Goal) under the name Th e Bench Warmers, and they’re hoping the catchy tune makes its way to the England team in South Africa.
They’ve posted the tune on their website and fans can download it for f ree.
The song is the latest in a long list of unofficial World Cup anthems, including Weezer’s Represent, Dizzee Rascal and James Corden’s Shout For England, Goal! England by We Are Scientists and the revamped Three Lions by the Lightning Seeds and Baddiel & Skinner.

SIMON COWELL has made a public appeal for a woman who appeared on BRITAIN ‘S GOT TALENT to contact police after she went missing last week (ends13J un10).
Thelma Townsend, who featured on the talent show with her husband Don i n 2007, is said to have became "disorientated" and "out of character" fol lowing a serious fall last year (09), and she has not been seen by her fa mily since Saturday (12Jun10).
And now Cowell has issued an appeal for Townsend to get in touch with o fficials and her loved ones to let them know she is safe.
He says, "Thelma, there are a lot of people very worried about you. So please make contact."

Rapper EMINEM credits his three children with inspiring him to kick his d rug addiction and stay sober.
The hip-hop star, who has been sober for 18 months, has dedicated his l atest album Recovery to kicking his addiction to painkillers and anti-dep ressants.
He tells the New York Times, "I used to get pills wherever I could. I w as just taking anything that anybody was giving to me." But Eminem insists his sobriety came without the help of a rehabilitati on facility: "I felt like Bugs Bunny in rehab. When Bugs Bunny walks into rehab, people are going to turn and look. People at rehab were stealing my hats and pens and notebooks and asking for autographs. I couldn’t conc entrate on my problem." A representative for JILL SCOTT has cleared up the confusion surrounding the cancellations on her tour with MAXWELL, insisting the R&B singer/actr ess is still on board to perform all shows she signed up for.
Soul star Maxwell announced on Wednesday (16Jun10) he was scrapping the second half of his U.S. trek, with his spokesperson blaming "scheduling conflicts" for the axe. The affected shows were set to take place between 28 June (10) and 15 July (10) in cities such as Nashville, Tennessee and Boston, Massachusetts.
It was rumoured the star pulled the concerts after falling out with his supporting acts Scott and Erykah Badu for over-running their allotted ti me slots, but Scott’s publicist slammed the reports - insisting Maxwell w as "a consummate gentleman and tour mate".
Now her spokesman has reached out to fans to assure them she will still be a part of the remaining live dates, before taking her bow at the upco ming sold out gig at New York’s Madison Square Garden on 25 June (10).

BRET MICHAELS has added another chapter to his long-awaited autobiography to include his recent health crisis.
The rocker suffered a brain haemorrhage and a mild stroke last month (M ay10) and learned he had a hole in the heart - and he decided the scare s hould be a part of his memoir, Roses & Thorns.
He tells Billboard.com, "I don’t think Simon & Schuster has ever had a book like this, where every day something else happens to me. This book w as supposed to come out June 23 of last summer." Michaels reveals he delayed the book’s first release so he could write about his prop-crashing incident at the 2009 Tony Awards, where he was le ft battered and bleeding after a stage curtain fell on him.
He adds, "This book is going to be like War and Peace times six. It’s r idiculous." Michaels now hopes to have Roses & Thorns out by the end of the year (1 0).

Legendary folk duo SIMON & GARFUNKEL have cancelled their delayed tour da tes to allow ART GARFUNKEL more time to recover from a vocal strain.
The duo postponed five Canadian shows on their April (10) tour after do ctors ordered Garfunkel to rest his voice.
The gigs were pushed back to July (10), but now they’ve been put on-hol d indefinitely as the singer battles to regain full health.
A statement from Garfunkel reads, "I do feel bad about disrupting so ma ny people’s plans, but, as I continue to mend, I can’t yet bring my ‘A’ g ame to a tour, and I would not perform for you with anything less." (CL/W

Motherhood has left actress BUSY PHILLIPS rethinking her party plans - be cause she can never sleep off crazy nights.
The star recently left 22 month old Birdie with a nanny so she could re present hit show Cougar Town at the Monte Carlo TV Festival - but she reg retted her decision when her daughter woke her up two hours after the par ty ended.
Phillips says, "I’m a mom now and I’m married and so I’ve settled down a bit, but when we were in Monte Carlo there were lots of television acto rs and younger people, like, from (TV show) 90210. They were like, ‘Let’s rage!’ "So, for one night, I thought, ‘I’ve got my nanny here, I’m going to go rage’, and I did it, and then (at) 7am the next morning - I went to bed at 5! - (Birdie knocks on the door) ‘Mommy mommy’.
"When you become a mom you suck it up, you take some (headache pills) A dvil and you have some water and you’re a bit hungover but you have to be a mom." However, the actress admits the night was worth it: "It was really fun - we got to meet the Prince of Monaco!"

JOHN GOODMAN is committed to keeping his weight down because he was tired of "breaking the furniture" as a 400 pound (181.4 kilograms) big guy.
The actor showed off a slimmer new look during an appearance on U.S. TV show The Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday night (16Jun10), an d spoke candidly about his weightloss battle.
Goodman blamed years of heavy drinking and overindulgence for packing o n the pounds.
The former Roseanne star explained, "I hit it (alcohol) pretty hard for 30 years and there was a lot of residual damage… I’d get off of Rosean ne every spring, I’d lose 60 pounds (27.2 kilograms)… Then I got too fo nd of the barley corn (beer) and then I’d just screw everything up, so th en I’d gain it back and then some, every year." But when he started tipping the scales at 400 pounds, Goodman knew it w as time to take a drastic life and diet change - or die.
He embarked on a weightloss programme and he’s motivated to maintain hi s smaller waistline, joking, "I was breaking furniture, for Lord’s sake!" The 58 year old admits it will be a fight he will always face, but he’s committed to staying healthy: "(I’m) getting a lot of exercise, I feel g reat."

Porn star DEVON JAMES has filed a paternity action against golfer TIGER W OODS, two days after going public with allegations he fathered her son.
As the golfing superstar teed off at the U.S. Open tournament at Pebble Beach, California on Thursday (17Jun10), James filed legal documents in Manatee County, Florida, asking a judge to determine the paternity of her nine-year-old son Austin.
James went public with her sensational claims on U.S. news show Extra o n Tuesday (15Jun10).
She told the programme that she kept her 2001 pregnancy and the birth o f her son a secret from Woods but revealed all when her ex reconnected wi th her when his wife Elin Nordegren was expecting their first child toget her.
James says she decided to tell the world about Tiger’s son following hi s 2009 cheating scandal.
She told Extra, "The world needs to know the truth about what was going on. There’s a lot more involved that he’s led on to believe." Zenani Mandela died last week (10Jun10) - a day after her 13th birthday (09Jun10) - after she was involved in a car accident on her way back fro m the soccer World Cup tournament’s launch concert.
Nelson Mandela missed the World Cup’s opening game last Friday (11Jun10 ) to mourn the 12 year old, and he and ex-wife Winnie turned out for the youngster’s funeral service in Johannesburg on Thursday, following a priv ate burial service earlier in the day.
Many relatives gave readings at the moving service and a specially-reco rded message from Campbell was played to the chapel congregation at St St ithian’s College.
The British beauty recalled memories of playing with Zenani, who she co nsidered like a god-daughter after becoming close to Mandela in the 1990s ..
She said, "I was truly blessed to have been able to say that we walked and laughed and got to play dress-up. She will remain in my heart forever .." NICOLE KIDMAN is to play fabled writer ERNEST HEMINGWAY’s wife, opposite CLIVE OWEN, in a new JAMES GANDOLFINI movie.
The Sopranos star has been trying to get the biopic Hemingway & Gellhor n before cameras for years - and now he’ll produce the TV movie for U.S. cable channel HBO with two of the world’s biggest actors.
Kidman will play Martha Gellhorn, Hemingway’s third wife.
Shooting will start in Northern California next year (11).
According to the Los Angeles Times, Kidman has put her portrayal of Bri tish soul star Dusty Springfield on hold so she can make the new movie wi th Owen, Gandolfini and director Philip Kaufman.
The film isn’t the only all-star biopic about Hemingway in production - Sir Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia and Annette Bening have teamed up to sh oot Hemingway & Fuentes.
