FOX PREPARED FOR LONG ENGAGEMENT

Actress MEGAN FOX is in no rush to wed fiance BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN, predict ing it will be "years" before they exchange vows.
The Transformers beauty became engaged to Green for a second time earli er this month (Jun10) during a romantic beach vacation in Hawaii.
The couple, which began dating in 2004, called off its original plans t o marry in February, 2009 after a two-year engagement but reunited months later.
Fox claims being Green’s fiancee again is "really not a re-engagement" because "nothing is different" - and the 24 year old insists she won’t be walking down the aisle anytime soon.
She tells UsMagazine.com, "It’s going to be years! I’m going to be 44 w hen I get married!" But she admits the happy couple has made a start on wedding plans - and the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star is keen on having a say in all deci sions.
Fox adds, "He is in on the planning. He wants to be!"

JUDGE ALLOWS JAMES’ EX TO KEEP VISITATION RIGHTS

SANDRA BULLOCK’s estranged husband JESSE JAMES has lost his court bid to ban his ex-wife, porn star JANINE LINDEMULDER, from visiting their six-ye ar-old daughter amid allegations she is abusing drugs.
James and Bullock were granted full guardianship of little Sunny in 200 9 after Lindemulder was sentenced to six months in jail for tax evasion.
She was released earlier this year (10) and relaunched her child custod y battle after James was exposed as a love cheat in March (10).
The fight over Sunny turned nasty this month (Jun10) when James accused his former partner of driving under the influence of drugs with their li ttle girl in the car and refused to hand over the child for one of Lindem ulder’s court-ordered visits.
But a judge in Orange County, California dismissed James’ allegations d uring a hearing on Thursday (17Jun10) and ruled Lindemulder could keep he r unmonitored visitation rights, reports TMZ.com.
However, it wasn’t all good news for the adult star - her request to ho ld James in contempt of court for refusing to let her take Sunny during h er scheduled visit was denied.
The custody case will be continued on 12 July (10).
Meanwhile, James’ lawyer has confirmed rumours the reality star is movi ng from Los Angeles to Austin, Texas, revealing he will be relocating at the end of June (10).
Attorney John Schilling tells People.com, "He intends to move at the en d of the month, he’s got a need to be there." It has been rumoured James plans to move to Bullock’s hometown to win t he actress back, but his legal rep has refused to comment on the claims, insisting the shamed star has business concerns in Austin, where he owns a motorcycle shop.

HOLLYWOOD STARS RALLY FOR OIL SPILL TELETHON

CAMERON DIAZ, ROBERT REDFORD, STING and LENNY KRAVITZ are lending their s upport to a star-studded TV telethon to raise funds for the state of Loui siana following the devastating BP oil spill in April (10).
TV bosses at CNN have answered actor Ian Somerhalder’s call for action to help boost donations to the areas in the Gulf of Mexico worst affected by the huge catastrophe, which has been ruled the worst environmental di saster in American history.
The Vampire Diaries star, who hails from Covington, near to the coastli ne where oil is washing up daily, issued the plea to his Hollywood pals e arlier this week (begs14Jun10) after seeing the huge success of George Cl ooney’s Hope for Haiti Now telethon in January (10). Clooney’s event rais ed a massive $57 million (=C2=A338 million) to help rebuild the earthquak e-ravaged country.
Somerhalder told E! Online, "Coming from the entertainment world, I’m r eally shaken by how quiet Hollywood is. And I say that out of respect for my peers and colleagues, but I’m really bummed that no one is really com ing up to help the situation. I think a telethon is a good way to funnel money into these channels. We need to set one of those things up to reall y paint a picture of exactly how much devastation is here.
"This is ground zero right now. I’m looking at this slick of oil. I’ve been watching pelicans die. This place is going to need money, that is th e bottom line - money in the right hands to replant these marshes. (It) r eally breaks my heart…" The Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help telethon for oil spill victi ms will take place during a special two-hour edition of Larry King Live o n Monday (21Jun10), with appearances from a slew of additional celebritie s, including Ted Danson, Tim McGraw, Alyssa Milano, Justin Bieber, Jenny McCarthy and Pete Wentz, while Sting is scheduled to perform.
American Idol host Ryan Seacrest will also front a special online editi on for fans to watch on the internet.
The charity event will raise funds for a variety of relief organisation s, such as the United Way, the National Wildlife Federation and the Natur e Conservancy.

MOTLEY CRUE star TOMMY LEE is set to make his acting debut with a guest r ole in CALIFORNICATION.
The drummer is set to appear in an episode of the show playing a singer who encounters David Duchovny’s character, Hank, while performing at a h otel bar, according to E! Online.
Lee will joins other guests stars including Rob Lowe and Lenny Kravitz’ s daughter, Zoe, who will also appear in the upcoming fourth season of th e show.

MICHAELS & CYRUS SHUT DOWN CENTRAL PARK WITH FREE SHOW

MILEY CYRUS and BRET MICHAELS shut down New York City’s Central Park on F riday morning (18Jun10) when hundreds of fans turned out to watch the pai r play a free concert.
The recovering Poison frontman rocked the crowd with Cyrus, teaming up for a new rendition of his band’s hit Every Rose Has Its Thorn during a l ive performance on U.S. TV show Good Morning America.
The performance was part of Michaels’ rock comeback after suffering a s eries of health crises, including a near-fatal brain haemorrhage in April (10).
Explaining her decision to cover the song, Cyrus, 17, said: "My first c oncert was Poison. (Every Rose Has Its Thorn) is my mum’s favourite song.
I did this song mostly for my mum." Michaels used the opportunity to praise the teen, insisting he was thri lled to perform the reworked track with her, while he also stepped forwar d to defend the former Disney star, who has attracted controversy over a string of raunchy performances.
Michaels said, "She’s a great musician and she has a great soul and she can sing and she’s one of the people who will make that huge transition into being a superstar."

MAYER HAILS SWIFT AS ‘FABULOUS’ SONGWRITER AT HALL OF FAME HONOURS

Rocker JOHN MAYER hailed TAYLOR SWIFT’s lyrical prowess at the Songwriter s Hall of Fame on Thursday (17Jun10) by insisting her huge success is "no accident".
The Grammy-winning country sensation was honoured with the Hal David St raight Award, an accolade given to promising young songwriters, for her w ork on hit tunes like Love Story and You Belong with Me.
And the 20 year old was given the ultimate praise by Mayer as he introd uced Swift to the stage to present her with the award at a celebratory di nner in New York.
He told the crowd,"She’s no accident. You could put her in a time machi ne in any era and she would have a hit record. Don’t confuse everybody lo ving one thing as hype. Sometimes that’s everyone agreeing that it’s fabu lous." The 2010 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees included Jackie DeShannon, David Foster, Al McKay, Earth, Wind & Fire’s Maurice White and Leonard Co hen, who received a standing ovation when he stepped onstage to accept hi s honour following k.d. lang’s rendition of his classic Hallelujah.
Other honorees on the night included Phil Collins, who was handed the p restigious Johnny Mercer Award, while Simon & Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Tro ubled Water was given the Towering Song Award.

LENNON’S LYRICS FETCH $1.2 MILLION AT AUCTION

JOHN LENNON’s handwritten lyrics for the BEATLES song A DAY IN THE LIFE h ave sold for a staggering $1.2 million (=C2=A3800,000) at an auction in N ew York.
Lennon’s scrawled notes were purchased by a private American collector, who bid by phone at the Sotheby’s sale on Friday (18Jun10).
The double-sided sheet of paper features the late star’s edits and corr ections, written in black felt marker and blue ball point pen, with annot ations in red ink.
Pre-sale estimates predicted the item would only sell for between $500, 000 (=C2=A3333,330) and $800,000 (=C2=A3533,300).
A Day in the Life was featured on the Beatle’s Grammy-winning 1967 albu m Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

POLISH ACTRESS CZYZEWSKA DIES

Polish film and TV star ELZBIETA CZYZEWSKA has lost her battle with esoph ageal cancer. She was 72.
Czyzewska died at a Manhattan, New York hospital on Thursday (17Jun10).
She rose to fame as a national sex symbol in Poland after starring in 1 961 film Erotica and became the most popular actress in the country durin g the 1960s.
She starred in a critically acclaimed Polish production of Arthur Mille r’s All My Sons, but her career took a turn after her marriage to the Ame rican journalist David Halberstam made her an outcast in her home country , when he was accused of slander against the government.
The couple was expelled from Poland and fled to the U.S., where Czyzews ka established herself as a stage actress, including a starring role in a 1974 production of The Possessed, alongside a then-unknown Meryl Streep and Christopher Durang.
On film, her credits included smaller roles in Putney Swope, Running on Empty, Cadillac Man and A Kiss Before Dying. She also made appearances o n TV in shows like Sex and the City, Third Watch, Law & Order: Criminal I ntent and Damages.
In May 2005, she was honoured with the Cultural Award of Merit by the C onsul General of the New York Polish Consulate - the highest award for a Polish American to receive.

RADCLIFFE WANTS GLEE ROLE

DANIEL RADCLIFFE is desperate to land a role in hit TV show GLEE so he ca n show off his newly-acquired singing and dancing skills.
The Harry Potter star has signed up to appear in a production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on Broadway next year (11), an d he’s been busy preparing for the role by taking dance classes and vocal lessons.
Radcliffe admits he dreams of joining the cast of Glee, but he might ne ed some more practise first.
He tells Access Hollywood, "Yes, absolutely (I want a role in Glee)… Of course… it’s an amazing show and I (would) obviously be honoured to be asked. But, I’m not sure I’m ready for that yet. They’ve got standards like (Glee star) Kristin Chenoweth."

KOPPEL’S SON DIED FROM DRUGS AND ALCOHOL

The tragic son of famed U.S. TV anchorman TED KOPPEL died from a lethal d ose of alcohol, illegal and prescription drugs, according to a newly rele ased report from the New York City medical examiner.
Andrew Koppel, son of the former Nightline host, passed away in the ear ly hours of 31 May (10) following reports of an all-day drinking binge.
Paramedics were called to an apartment in Manhattan and pronounced the 40-year-old lawyer dead at the scene.
The medical report stated Koppel’s cause of death as acute intoxication , due to the combined effects of alcohol, heroin, cocaine and the painkil ler Valium.
The death has been ruled an accident.

ARTIST/AUTHOR HORSLEY FOUND DEAD

Controversial British artist and author SEBASTIAN HORSLEY has been found dead in his London home after suffering a suspected drug overdose.
The star’s lifeless body was discovered by his girlfriend on Thursday ( 17Jun10). He was 47.
Horsley, whose eccentric dress sense, including a top hat and velvet co at, set him apart from his peers, was known for his wild lifestyle, docum enting his many experiences with drugs and prostitutes in his memoir, Dan dy In The Underworld.
He was also famed for his attempt to be crucified in the Philippines in 2000 - the headline-grabbing feat had to be abandoned when the foot rest of the giant cross broke and he fell while nailed by his wrists. Horsley was caught before any serious damage could be caused.
The event was filmed and he later created a series of paintings on the subject, which went on display in London in 2002.
The tragic news comes just days after a play based on his autobiography opened at London’s Soho Theatre, and his death has left the show’s direc tor, Tim Fountain, "devastated".
He adds, "Extreme ways of living bring with them great risks as well as rewards." Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Horsle y’s death.

FASSBENDER LANDS X-MEN ROLE

MICHAEL FASSBENDER has reportedly seen off strong competition to land a c oveted role in the new X-MEN movie - playing a younger version of SIR IA N MCKELLEN’s character.
The Inglourious Basterds actor, 33, is said to have been offered the pa rt of villainous Magento in X-Men: First Class ahead of a host of younger stars including Kick-Ass’ Aaron Johnson and Anjelica Huston’s nephew Jac k Huston, according to Deadline.com.
Fassbender will appear alongside James McAvoy, who will step into Sir P atrick Stewart’s role of Charles Xavier in the upcoming prequel.
The movie, which will be directed by Matthew Vaughn, will chart the beg innings of the superhero saga, focusing on the early years of Xavier and Erik Lensherr, who later becomes known as magnetic mutant Magneto.
Filming is due to begin in August (10) ahead of a June release next yea r (11).

SOPRANO’S GANNASCOLI ARRESTED FOR DUI

THE SOPRANOS star JOSEPH GANNASCOLI is facing a charge of driving under t he influence (DUI) after he was arrested by Florida police in the early h ours of Friday (18Jun10).
The actor’s car was pulled over by cops in Tampa after he was allegedly spotted driving erratically and drifting between lanes.
Gannascoli reportedly had bloodshot eyes and reeked of alcohol when off icers questioned him, while he is also said to have slurred his speech, a ccording to TMZ.com.
He agreed to a field sobriety test and registered a 0.111 reading when breathalysed.

THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE FILMMAKER NEAME DIES

British director RONALD NEAME has died at the age of 99 after failing to recover from a fall.
The Poseidon Adventure filmmaker passed away at a Los Angeles hospital on Wednesday (16Jun10), his friend Peter Bowes has confirmed.
Born in London to photographer Elwin Neame and actress Ivy Close, Neame began his career in the film industry as a messenger boy at the U.K.’s f amous Elstree Studios, where he first met acclaimed director Alfred Hitch cock.
He became an assistant cameraman on Hitchcock’s 1929 movie Blackmail, b efore working as a cinematographer on 1933 musical comedy Happy.
He turned to directing in 1947 with Take My Life, and he worked with ac ting legend Alec Guinness on three of his films, The Card (1952), The Hor se’s Mouth (1958) and Tunes of Glory (1960).
But Neame will perhaps be best remembered for 1972’s The Poseidon Adven ture, which earned three Academy Award nominations, including Best Suppor ting Actress for Shelley Winters. The disaster movie, which also starred Gene Hackman and Ernest Borgnine, won in the two other categories it was nominated for - Best Song for The Song from The Poseidon Adventure, also known as The Morning After, and Special Achievement in Visual Effects.
During his lengthy career, Neame also worked with Judy Garland, Dirk Bo garde and Dame Maggie Smith, who won the Best Actress Oscar in 1969 for h er role in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.
He is survived by his third wife Donna Friedberg, who he wed in 1993; h is son Christopher, a writer/producer, from his first marriage to Beryl H eanly; and his grandson Gareth, who works as a TV producer. (MT/WNWCCB/JM

RIHANNA’S TOUR RIDER REVEALED

RIHANNA demands animal print decorations in her backstage area ahead of e very show - and bizarrely bans sequins from her dressing room, according to the singer’s tour rider.
The Umbrella hitmaker is currently touring the world with her Last Girl On Earth shows, and a list of her backstage demands has been obtained by TheSmokingGun.com.
The rider reveals Rihanna asks for animal print cushions and a throw ru g to decorate her dressing area, as well as vases of white tulips and lav ender roses.
The singer also requests an "ice-blue" colour scheme and "no sequins" o n any of the pillows or sofas, and most importantly the bathroom must be "spotless" and the toilet given a "deep clean".

BARAT GOES SOLO

CARL BARAT has disappointed fans who were hoping THE LIBERTINES’ reunion would be permanent - the British rocker will go solo after the band’s com eback gigs this summer (10).
The group, fronted by Barat and Pete Doherty, reformed in March (10) an d will play headline slots at Britain’s Reading and Leeds music festivals in August (10).
Fans had hoped the gigs would lead to a full-time reunion, but Barat ha s now confirmed plans to release a solo album in October (10).
The currently untitled record will be followed by a U.K. tour, accordin g to Britain’s BBC 6 Music.
