WHITE URGES FANS NOT TO GIVE HIM ANY MORE STUFFED ANIMALS

THE WHITE STRIPES star JACK WHITE is urging fans not to give him any more taxidermied animals to add to his collection - because he’s often unimpr essed with their presents.
White has spent years buying up stuffed creatures, but he doesn’t like seeing them in "comedic poses" and is asking devotees not to buy him any more funny gifts - because he just finds them "insulting".
He tells Maxim magazine, "I don’t have much choice in the matter - I fe el like a rescuer, a Humane Society employee. There’s a majesty to these animals that I want to preserve; I can’t see them looked at in a comedic way.
"Sometimes people get it wrong, and it’s so insulting. They’ll buy me a squirrel playing pool or some s**t like that."

COYLE ENJOYS BIRTHDAY IN HER OWN BAR

British pop star NADINE COYLE enjoyed a low-key bash for her 25th birthda y party - by throwing a family party in her own Los Angeles bar.
The Girls Aloud singer, who hails from Northern Ireland, opened Irish-s tyle pub Nadine’s Irish Mist in Newport Beach in 2009 as an investment af ter relocating to L.A. with her family.
And the star celebrated turning 25 years old last week (beg14Jun10) by laying on a buffet dinner for her friends and relatives in the pub.
The crowd enjoyed Guinness and Tequila shots and karaoke, according to Britain’s The Sun.
A party-goer tells the publication, "It was great craic (fun), just lik e a party at home. Everyone was Irish dancing, there was karaoke and cert ainly a lot of alcohol."

DEPP ‘LAUNCHING RECORD LABEL’

JOHNNY DEPP is preparing to launch his own record label and has dispatche d staff to scour London for new talent, according to a U.K. report.
The Hollywood star initially embarked on a music career when he left sc hool, playing with several rock groups before turning his attention to ac ting.
Depp remains a massive music fan and recently helped British band Babyb ird produce a new record by funding their studio time and even playing on several of their tracks.
And now the Pirates of the Caribbean actor is said to be ready to launc h his own label.
According to Britain’s The Sun, Depp has founded Unison Music and has h ired talent scouts to search for new acts in the British capital.
A source tells the publication, "Johnny has always been passionate abou t music. He’s taking a really hands-on approach to signing acts.
"Obviously he can’t get to as many gigs as he would like but he’s got a good team around him and will personally vet any signings that they make .."

GALLAGHER PLANNING OASIS TELL-ALL

Rocker LIAM GALLAGHER is preparing to tell all about the sibling rivalry that tore OASIS apart - he’s contemplating writing a film or a book based on his memories in the band.
The singer recently launched his own film production company, In 1, and he’s in the process of turning Richard DiLello’s book about the last day s of the Beatles into a new movie.
Gallagher is planning a similar venture based on Oasis - although he’s yet to decide if it will be a written or filmed project.
But the hellraising star may encounter some difficulties recalling his early days in the band he founded with brother Noel Gallagher - because h is memory is fading.
He says, "Yep, without a doubt. (I want to document the memories) very soon, before I forget them all." Noel quit Oasis last summer (09) after an argument with Liam at a conce rt in Paris, France and the pair has not spoken since.

KATHERINE JACKSON TO RELEASE BOOK A YEAR AFTER SON’S DEATH

MICHAEL JACKSON’s mother KATHERINE is preparing to release a book in memo ry of her tragic son as the world prepares to remember the superstar a ye ar after his death (25Jun10).
Katherine Jackson, who inherited 40 per cent of her son’s estate and wa s named the guardian of his three children, will release the picture book on Monday (21Jun10), according to Showbiz411.com.
The tome will be entitled Never Can Say Goodbye: The Katherine Jackson Archives, in reference to the Jackson 5 song of the same name.
The musical family matriarch reportedly discussed the book at length wi th the singer’s former business partner Marc Schaffel last week (ends13Ju n10).
A source tells Showbiz411, "She’s very proud of the book." The release will coincide with the first anniversary of Jackson’s death on 25 June (10).

KNIGHT ‘DISAPPOINTED’ BY SILENT WEST AT DEPOSITION

MARION ‘SUGE’ KNIGHT was left "disappointed" after KANYE WEST remained si lent during a deposition on Friday (17Jun10) as part of an on-going court battle over the rapper’s 2005 party where the fallen hip-hop mogul was a llegedly shot and robbed.
The former Death Row Records boss claims he attended West’s pre-MTV Vid eo Music Awards bash at a Miami, Florida nightclub in 2005, where an unkn own person shot him in the leg - shattering a bone. He also alleges he wa s robbed of a $135,000 (=C2=A390,000) diamond earring.
He filed a lawsuit against against West in 2008, claiming the Stronger hitmaker is to blame for the incident after security checks allegedly fai led to stop a gun being smuggled into the venue.
At the deposition in New York on Friday, West allegedly refused to offe r any information to Knight’s legal team during the six-hour proceedings and denied he had any involvement in the security arrangements.
Knight’s lawyer, Marc Brumer, tells New York Post gossip column Page Si x, "He basically put his hands over his head and didn’t say anything for six hours. He evidently doesn’t know anything about anything, despite the fact that he hosted the party." Knight adds to the Associated Press, "I figured I could sit him down, m an to man, and get this resolved. I’m disappointed." He is seeking $1 million (=C2=A3666,000) in damages from West, includin g $200,000 (=C2=A3133,000) in medical bills.

HILL SCHOOLED IN FAME AFTER BATHROOM INCIDENT

Funnyman JONAH HILL had an alarming lesson in the pitfalls of fame after an overzealous fan followed him into a bathroom to take a picture.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor has shot to stardom with a series o f box office hits - and now he’s forced double check he’s not being chase d during private moments.
He remembers, "This one guy goes, ‘Hey Jonah, can I take a picture with you?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, of course.’ But I had to pee really bad so I sa id, ‘You hang out here and I’ll go to the restroom…’ This guy had a dif ferent idea. He followed me into the bathroom "I go to the urinal and he goes to the urinal right next to me and he’s just staring at me… It was the most uncomfortable thing ever." And Hill admits the incident has made him more paranoid - and more hygi enic - than ever. BARTON BREAKS DOWN AGAIN

MISCHA BARTON was left stranded in Los Angeles again on Thursday (17Jun10 ) - after her unreliable vintage Cadillac broke down for the second time in as many months.
The actress’ beloved bright blue vehicle failed to start, and she was l eft out on the roads by herself in the early hours of the morning waiting for a tow truck.
Barton also experienced car troubles last month (May10) - the Cadillac failed to start following a shopping trip to The Grove mall and had to be towed away for repair.

KEATON SLAMS ‘LAZY’ SEQUELS

MICHAEL KEATON has slammed the Hollywood trend of making sequels to box o ffice hits - insisting moviemakers can become "soft and lazy" by relying on a successful format.
The actor starred in his own blockbuster action franchise when he playe d Batman in the first two Tim Burton films in the early 1990s.
He has also provided the voice of Ken Doll in the upcoming third instal lment of the Toy Story movie series.
But Keaton is adamant that producers and directors can become complacen t if they keep churning out follow-ups without good plots - taking aim at recent superhero sequel Iron Man 2, which was poorly-received by critics ..
He tells Britain’s Daily Express, "I think the makers of sequels just g et soft and lazy and don’t think they need to try any more.
"I’ve heard that about Iron Man 2. I haven’t seen it yet but I have hea rd that it’s not as good as the first one for that very reason." However, he insists the upcoming Toy Story movie is better than its pre decessors: "Thankfully, Toy Story 3 is as good if not better than the ori ginal."

JOLIE VISITS REFUGEES IN SOUTH AMERICA

ANGELINA JOLIE has visited displaced villagers on the Ecuadorian boarder with Colombia in the run-up to World Refugee Day on Sunday (20Jun10).
The Hollywood beauty, who has been a United Nations (U.N.) Goodwill Amb assador since 2001, is an avid supporter of the annual day to highlight t he plight of refugees around the globe.
And as part of her duties with the U.N., the star returned to the Ecuad or/Colombia boarder for the first time in eight years on Wednesday (16Jun 10), to visit the women and children who have been forced to flee their h omes due to conflicts in the South American region.
She left two days later (18Jun10) after speaking with Ecuador’s Preside nt Rafael Correa and other government officials.
It is reported that between 50,000 and 170,000 Colombian refugees are l iving close to the border because of the ongoing conflicts in the country , which have played out since the 1960s.

DRAKE WANTS TO IMPRESS ANDRE 3000 WITH DEBUT

DRAKE is hoping to win over hip-hop star ANDRE 3000 with his new album TH ANK ME LATER after the OUTKAST star snubbed the opportunity to collaborat e with the rap newcomer for his highly-anticipated debut.
The Best I Ever Had hitmaker, real name Aubrey Graham, landed a string of top rap icons to feature on the release, including Jay-Z, Eminem and h is mentor Lil Wayne.
Drake admits he was disappointed when Andre 3000 turned down his reques t to work together, but he is refusing to give up hope - and is already p lotting to have him appear on his sophomore disc.
He tells Vibe magazine, "I really tried to do a song with Andre 3000, b ut I think it was meant for my second album.
"Dre is one of those people that needs you to do a little more. He’s on e of those people that believe in his craft so much that he needs you to do more than just be over hyped or just famous. In his mind, I have to pr ove myself and the truth is, I do. That=E2=80=99s just being real. I have a lot of work to do, so I actually respect him for that.

DIDDY CHANGES SUPREME TEAM TO DREAM TEAM

SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS has been forced to change the name of his new rap supe rgroup after discovering another act was already performing under the mon iker SUPREME TEAM.
The rap mogul has recruited Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Red Cafe and DJ Kh aled to his new band, taking inspiration for the name from infamous New Y ork drug kingpin Kenneth ‘Supreme’ McGriff.
But Diddy has had a change of heart over what to call the group after f inding out the Supreme Team was already in use.
In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Due to another group own ing the name supreme team in efforts not to hurt their business we have d ecided to change our name to the #DREAMTEAM." The hip-hop collective has yet to announce plans to record together in the studio.

MADDEN DISMISSES JUNE WEDDING RUMOURS

Rocker JOEL MADDEN has laughed off reports he’s set to wed fiancee NICOLE RICHIE this month (Jun10), insisting they "haven’t even started" to plan their nuptials.
The Good Charlotte star announced in February (10) that he had proposed in secret last year (09), and recent reports suggested the couple will t ie the knot in Santa Barbara, California this autumn (10).
New rumours have since swirled, alleging the stars will exchange vows l ater this month - but Madden is adamant they are "absolutely not" marryin g in the coming weeks.
Speaking to People.com, he adds, "We haven’t even started planning." Madden admits the couple is in no rush to become man and wife and he’s currently focusing his thoughts on his band’s current U.S. tour and their upcoming European trek.

ELTON PLAYS DEFIANT SHOW IN ISRAEL

SIR ELTON JOHN showed his support for the people of Israel during a perfo rmance in Tel Aviv on Thursday (17Jun10) when he took aim at artists who had pulled shows in the country in protest of the government’s alleged tr eatment of Palestinians.
The Rocket Man star refused to bow to pressure and follow in the footst eps of musicians like The Pixies and Elvis Costello and scrap his concert in response to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine over th e Gaza strip.
In May (10), rocker Costello cancelled two planned gigs in Tel Aviv on 30 June and 1 July (10), insisting it was "a matter of instinct and consc ience" to axe the shows following an Israeli military raid on a flotilla of ships attempting to carry aid supplies to Palestine.
But John pressed ahead with his concert at the Ramat Gan stadium on Thu rsday, defiantly telling the 50,000-strong crowd, "Shalom, we are so happ y to be back here! Ain’t nothing (sic) gonna stop us from coming, baby!" And he briefly addressed the cancelled concert controversy by calling o n his fellow singers to put aside their political allegiances to unite fa ns of all cultures.
He said, "Musicians spread love and peace, and bring people together. T hat’s what we do. We don’t cherry-pick our conscience."

JACKSON’S ESTATE TO SHARE MEMORIAL COST WITH GIG PROMOTERS

The executors of MICHAEL JACKSON’s estate have agreed to reimburse Los An geles authorities for the cost of the late superstar’s elaborate memorial service by sharing the $1.3 million (=C2=A3866,670) expenses with concer t promoters AEG.
The Thriller hitmaker was laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills last July (09) before th e big concert tribute at the Staples Center.
A furore broke out over the expense of Jackson’s funeral and memorial, which was broadcast across the globe, with local councilmen calling for t he singer’s family and event organisers AEG to foot the bill for all the extra security and personnel needed to ensure the public’s safety, instea d of Los Angeles tax payers.
Now, almost a year after Jackson’s burial, the administrators of his es tate and AEG bosses have reached a deal with city officials. They will pa y the City of Los Angeles $1 million (=C2=A3666,670) to cover the memoria l, while they will also hand over $300,000 (=C2=A3200,000) for new crime fighting equipment.

HEARTFELT TWAIN TRIBUTE SNAPPED UP AT AUCTION

An emotional handwritten note by author MARK TWAIN paying tribute to his late daughter has sold at auction for a whopping $242,500 (=C2=A3164,000) ..
The 64-page manuscript, titled A Family Sketch, was penned by the liter ary legend following Olive’s death from spinal meningitis in 1896, at the age of 24.
Describing her personality, Twain wrote, "She was a magazine of feeling s, (of) all shades of force…
"In all things she was intense: in her this characteristic was not a me re glow, dispensing warmth, but a consuming fire." The tribute was part of a collection of manuscripts by The Adventures o f Huckleberry Finn writer which went under the hammer at Sotherby’s in Ne w York on Friday (18Jun10). POTTER CAST OPEN THEME PARK TO PUBLIC

HARRY POTTER stars DANIEL RADCLIFFE, RUPERT GRINT and EMMA WATSON delight ed fans in Orlando, Florida on Friday (18Jun10) when they helped to offic ially open the movie theme park to the public.
Thousands of Potter devotees flocked to Universal Orlando to be one of the first few people through the gates of the Wizarding World of Harry Po tter, which brings author J.K. Rowling’s boy wizard tales to life.
Bill Davis, president of Universal Orlando Resort, says, "We have broug ht to life a cultural phenomenon that has captured the hearts and minds o f millions of people around the world." And Radcliffe is impressed by the extent of work Warner Bros. bosses ha ve put in to make sure the theme park atmosphere and its rides remain tru e to the details in the books.
He says, "What Universal Orlando has done with Harry Potter is really, really fantastic. We’re all kind of very grateful that the next part of t he Harry Potter legacy has been so well-done and so well-made." Other castmembers present for the grand opening included Tom Felton, Mi chael Gambon, Bonnie Wright and Matthew Lewis.

FOX PREPARED FOR LONG ENGAGEMENT

Actress MEGAN FOX is in no rush to wed fiance BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN, predict ing it will be "years" before they exchange vows.
The Transformers beauty became engaged to Green for a second time earli er this month (Jun10) during a romantic beach vacation in Hawaii.
The couple, which began dating in 2004, called off its original plans t o marry in February, 2009 after a two-year engagement but reunited months later.
Fox claims being Green’s fiancee again is "really not a re-engagement" because "nothing is different" - and the 24 year old insists she won’t be walking down the aisle anytime soon.
She tells UsMagazine.com, "It’s going to be years! I’m going to be 44 w hen I get married!" But she admits the happy couple has made a start on wedding plans - and the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star is keen on having a say in all deci sions.
Fox adds, "He is in on the planning. He wants to be!"
