WILLIAMS WANTS TO RIDE WITH BATMAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:33 pm

ROBIN WILLIAMS is urging movie bosses to cast him in the next BATMAN movi e - because he has twice been turned down for parts in the superhero fran chise.
Rumours over casting for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming third superhero f ilm have been rife ever since The Dark Knight, starring Heath Ledger as T he Joker, hit cinemas in 2008 - with fans speculating over which characte rs will be re-introduced.
Nolan is said to be considering bringing feline femme fatale Catwoman b ack for the new movie, along with The Riddler.
Williams is adamant he would make a good replacement for Jim Carrey, wh o played the fiendish puzzler in 1995’s Batman Forever, because the part was originally offered to him. The funnyman also reveals he was lined up to play The Joker in the original 1989 Batman movie before the role was l ater handed to Jack Nicholson - and the snubs have made him determined to secure a part in the next installment of the hit franchise.
He tells Empire magazine, "I would do Batman in a second. I’d play The Riddler in the next one, although it would be hard to top Heath Ledger as the villain and I’m a little hairy for tights.
"The Batman films have screwed me twice before: years ago they offered me The Joker and then gave it to Jack Nicholson, then they offered me The Riddler and gave it to Jim Carrey. I’d be like, ‘OK, is this a real offe r? If it is, then the answer’s yes. Don’t pump me again motherf**kers’."

SCORSESE WANTS GRINT TO PLAY GANGSTER IN FILM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:30 am

MARTIN SCORSESE wants HARRY POTTER star RUPERT GRINT to play a gangster i n one of his movies, insisting he has the potential to be as successful a s LEONARDO DiCAPRIO.
The 21-year-old actor, who has played Ron Weasley in all of the wizard films, recently wrapped up shooting the last installment of the franchise ..
He has already started to shake off the longrunning character by appear ing in small independent films including Driving Lessons and Cherrybomb.
Scorsese has advised Grint to take on a variety of villainous character s to show fans he won’t be typecast, in the same way that DiCaprio - who has starred in several of the director’s movies - managed to turn his bac k on playing romantic roles at the start of his career.
The legendary movie-maker says, "I thought he (Grint) was a great actor in the Harry Potter movies. In a lot of scenes, the boy stole the show. He will always have respect for the movies that gave him such a huge brea k, but at his age it’s important he doesn’t become typecast. He has to do something really out of his comfort zone in the next few years - play a gangster, play a dirty cop, play a kid with learning difficulties. I woul d be interested in working with him. I would have no issues in casting hi m as a gangster, he is a very talented young man.
"When Leo was in Titanic and Romeo And Juliet, nobody saw him becoming a bad a** in movies like The Departed. But he has become one of the great est actors of all time. The very same could be true of Rupert." (KD/WNTSU

KATONA APOLOGISES FOR TAKING DRUGS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:24 am

British singer-turned-reality-TV-star KERRY KATONA has apologised to her fans for taking drugs and letting her life spiral out of control - insist ing she’s "never looking back".
The former Atomic Kitten star was at the centre of a media storm last y ear (09) when a U.K. tabloid printed pictures of her snorting cocaine.
Katona lost several lucrative work contracts after the scandal, and she accepted an official caution from police for possessing a controlled sub stance.
She has since worked hard to rebuild her public image by losing weight and ditching her husband Mark Croft earlier this year (10).
But she feared her new persona would be wrecked again after a televisio n documentary aired in Britain last week (end27Jun10) showed footage from several months ago of her yelling at her four children.
Now Katona has made an apology in her column in Britain’s OK! magazine, writing an article titled "An Open Letter From a Remorseful Mum".
In the piece she writes, "Thanks for giving me a second chance - I won’ t let you down again. Some of you may have seen the show Kerry And Me whi ch aired last week. It was filmed five months ago and I was so unwell at the time and in such a bad place in my life. I don’t even know who that w oman was, it’s so far away from the person I am now. Even so, I know that it was still me and that I have to take responsibility for that. I have got my second chance, I’m not going to let anything happen ever again and I’m never looking back." And Katona hopes others will be able to learn from her mistakes: "I onl y hope that some good came out of that show for other people, and that wa tching it will help anyone going through depression, addiction, a break-u p (or anything else I went through), so that they can turn their life aro und in the same way that I have."
