Rapper METHOD MAN has pleaded guilty to a tax evasion charge in New York, after falling $106,000 (GBP70,670) behind in payments.
The Wu-Tang Clan rapper was arrested last October (09) and charged with tax evasion after withholding state and personal income taxes from 2004 to 2007.
The MC was sentenced to a conditional discharge and all charges will be removed from his record if he stays out of trouble.
According to his attorney Peter Frankel, the rapper has made his final restitution payment and immediately corrected the tax issue once notified ..
Method Man, real name Clifford Smith, blamed laziness for his failure t o file tax returns shortly after his headline-grabbing arrest, and has ur ged others to learn from his mistakes.
In an interview with radio DJ Big Tigger he said: "When you don’t file, that’s what happens. I’m learning my lesson. You’ve got to file.
"You can’t be waiting for the last minute. And I hadn’t spoken to my CP A (accountant) in three or four years."

Rocker BRET MICHAELS has revealed he is in talks with AMERICAN IDOL bosse s about possibly replacing SIMON COWELL as a judge on the show.
The Poison star made his first live appearance after his recent brain h aemorrhage and mild stroke on the talent show’s finale and rumours have b een rife ever since that he’s the man to take over Cowell’s chair.
And now he admits he’s planning to meet with producers to discuss the i dea.
He tells Parade.com, "We have a meeting in L.A. in a couple weeks and w e’re going to sit down and talk. They did a poll and I think it was Madon na, P. Diddy, Howard Stern and myself, and I took 50 per cent or 60 per c ent of the vote and that’s tremendous. I would love to be a judge on Amer ican Idol. I think I would bring a lot to the table.
"I’m not built exactly like Simon Cowell, but, at the same time, I resp ect what he did. I would have to bring my own personality. I think if the y have someone in there to try to imitate Simon, it would be a mistake; h e’s an original.
"Bring Bret Michaels in to be original… Bring someone who can bring a little grit, true grit, back to the show."

Former tennis ace JENNIFER CAPRIATI was hospitalised on Sunday (27Jun10) after taking an "accidental overdose" of prescription medication, accordi ng to members of her family.
The sports star, 34, was admitted to a Florida medical facility after p aramedics were called to a hotel in Riviera Beach.
Capriati was still receiving treatment on Monday (28Jun10) but her rela tives have played down the incident amid speculation about the drugs she had taken.
Family members tell TMZ.com Capriati is "recuperating at a South Florid a hospital from an accidental overdose of medication prescribed to Jen by her personal physicians".
The former women’s world number one, who has three Grand Slam titles to her name, has previously battled eating disorders and suffered from depr ession.

Former MELROSE PLACE star AMY LOCANE has been charged with killing a woma n after allegedly crashing her car under the influence of alcohol.
The actress, who starred opposite Johnny Depp in Cry-Baby, was driving her Chevy Tahoe in Montgomery, New Jersey on Sunday night (27Jun10) when she reportedly struck another vehicle, which was turning into a driveway.
Helene Seeman, a passenger in the front seat of the other car, was pron ounced dead at the scene, while the driver, Fred Seeman, was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. He has been listed as in critic al condition.
Locane, who suffered minor cuts to her right foot, has allegedly admitt ed drinking several glasses of wine before taking the wheel of her car, r eports The Star-Ledger newspaper.
The actress was charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and third -degree assault by auto on Monday (28Jun10). Bail has been set at $50,000 (=C2=A333,333).

AMERICAN PIE star CHRIS KLEIN has been formally charged with two misdemea nours stemming from his recent arrest for drink driving.
The actor’s car was pulled over by police in Los Angeles on 16 June (10 ) and he was taken into custody after he was found to be almost three tim es over the legal limit.
He was released on $25,000 (=C2=A316,660) bail and subsequently checked himself into rehab at the Cirque Lodge in Utah to seek treatment for alc ohol addiction. The DUI arrest was his second in five years; he was previ ously busted on a similar charge in 2005.
On Monday (28Jun10), the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office announced h e had been charged with driving under the influence with a prior convicti on and driving with a .08 blood alcohol level or higher.
If he is found guilty, Klein will have to serve a mandatory minimum of four days in a county jail, but he could be sentenced to up to a year beh ind bars. He is due to be arraigned on 9 July (10), according to TMZ.com.

SUSAN SARANDON is set to turn her passion for ping pong into a new realit y TV series.
The 63 year old is an investor in Manhattan’s SPiN club, which launched in September (09) and offers table tennis fans a place to hang out and p erfect their skills.
And now she’s taking her love for the sport to a new level - she’s maki ng an episodic documentary about the growing trend and ping-pong professi onals - including young players with dreams of making it to the Olympics.

SANDRA BULLOCK and JESSE JAMES’ marriage is officially over - the estrang ed couple’s divorce has been finalised, according to online reports.
The Oscar winner walked out on the TV mechanic in March (10) after porn star Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee went public with news of her 11-month fl ing with James.
Bullock filed for divorce in Travis County, Texas in April (10), after revealing she and James had adopted a baby boy from Louisiana and she was planning to raise the child as a single mum.
In court filings, Bullock claimed the marriage had "become insupportabl e because of discord or conflict of personalities".
According to TMZ.com, both parties signed the final documents last week (ends27Jun10). Details of the divorce settlement have not been released.

Taiwanese pop star CHANG HUI-MEI was the toast of Asia’s Golden Melody Aw ards on Saturday (26Jun10) after walking away with six top honours.
The singer, also known as A-Mei, was crowned Best Female Mandarin Singe r at the Chinese version of the Grammys, beating off competition from Tan ya Chua and Karen Mok.

Rap superstar KANYE WEST is facing a copyright infringement lawsuit from a little-known songwriter and producer over his hit 2007 single STRONGER.
Vincent ‘Vince P.’ Peters has accused the Gold Digger hitmaker of copyi ng chunks from his own composition, also named Stronger, which he alleges was written in 2006.
Peters claims he gave music manager John Monopoly, a business associate of West’s, a copy of the song during a meeting at his Chicago, Illinois home in November, 2006, and was stunned when the rapper’s version began g etting radio airplay a few months later.
Peters filed legal papers in the U.S. District Court for the Northern D istrict of Illinois on Friday (25Jun10) and is seeking undisclosed damage s and a trial by jury, reports AllHipHop.com.
West’s Stronger has become one of his biggest hits to date, selling ove r three million units and becoming the 16th most downloaded song of all t ime, according to the iTunes music download service.

Rap newcomer DRAKE has been slapped with a lawsuit by Playboy Enterprises executives amid allegations his big hit BEST I EVER HAD infringes on the copyright of a song in their possession.
Lil Wayne’s protege has been named in legal papers filed by bosses at P layboy Music, Inc. and Playboy Enterprises, who claim his 2009 single ill egally samples the tune Fallin’ In Love, made famous by Hamilton, Joe Fra nk & Reynolds in 1975.
In the suit, the Playboy heads claim the rapper and his producers "knew or should have reasonably known, that the sound recording was protected by copyright" and that "each Defendant continues to infringe upon Plainti ff’s rights in and to the copyrighted sound recording".
Drake’s label bosses at Cash Money Records and Universal have also been drawn into the lawsuit and Playboy is seeking an injunction to halt the sale and distribution of the track, and force the defendants to hand over all profits from the hit single.
They are also seeking compensation for legal costs.

DAVID HASSELHOFF and his teenage daughters are planning to air out their family dramas in a U.S. version of their candid U.K. reality show - in a bid to put ongoing tabloid rumours to rest.
